Pillar of Yita

Generally, it’s these warriors who stay behind to cover the retreat of others. Having an Alchemist with little defensive power cover their retreat was something they were still not quite used to.

”Ade,” Hansen couldn’t help but speak, ”why don’t you leave first?”

But Fang Hong shook his head. ”No need, leave it to me.”

Hansen looked at him, and honestly, he felt some regret as soon as he had spoken. He was afraid that Fang Hong might just take the opportunity to agree. If they stayed behind, along with those they had already lost, the losses from this adventure would be enormous.

Still, he felt a slight apology and nodded to Fang Hong before he gestured to the others. The Halberdiers hesitated for a moment but ultimately chose to save themselves, leaving the position one by one.

It was only then that Fang Hong had the other two Walkers join the firing sequence, just barely compensating for the loss of firepower density after the others left.

But he knew in his heart that this situation wouldn’t last long.

He looked back and saw that nearly everyone had reached the other end of the corridor. Tianlan was still there, calling out loudly to him, ”Brother Ade, we’re all here, hurry up and come!”

Fang Hong then turned his head and said to Diket, ”Let’s go too.”

”Go?” The older Knight, clutching his Great Sword, was staring at the Morning Knights who were getting closer and closer down the corridor, ready for a do-or-die battle. He was taken aback by Fang Hong’s words. Leave now? Did this young man have a problem with his brain?

Even if they wanted to leave, would those Morning Knights let them leave so easily?

However, after Fang Hong spoke, he turned around without looking back and shut down the Magic Guided Reactor behind him. The four Walkers came to a halt in unison as their internal Core Crystals simultaneously dimmed.

The fire net was gone.

Almost at the same time, a muffled sound of footsteps came from the corridor. Diket turned his head, just in time to see the dark end of the corridor, where a bright red light rushed towards him.

The Morning Knights accelerated their charge. The scene was so familiar—

”Ah—” Tianlan, seeing this, was almost scared into screaming. She vigorously waved her hands, trying to warn Fang Hong of the enemy behind him. Next to this young French girl, on the Magic Guided Reactor behind Parker, the timer on the plugin suddenly snapped, indicating the spring had snapped back to its original position.

The Papalarians were startled and hurriedly looked back.

A low rumbling sound.

Everyone felt a slight tremor underfoot as if a muffled thunder had come from beneath the ground. The floor of the inn surged like a wave, slightly convex.

Then with a loud bang, under Tianlan’s surprised gaze, the entire corridor collapsed at one point. The ground cracked and sank, spreading from afar to near, and all the Ghosts in that direction fell down with the soil in swathes.

Last was the Morning Knight who kept sprinting forward.

The enemy tried to leap back and forth on the raised floor a few times but to no avail. It wasn’t an agile Professional in life, let alone now. Finally, the collapsing ceiling fell from above, the fiery red cloak flashed briefly in the darkness, and then it disappeared.

The collapsed ground continued to advance.

Until it engulfed each Walker in turn.

The cracking extended to just behind Fang Hong and in front of Diket before it finally stopped.

At the edge of the fault layer, rocks clattered downwards, scaring the older Knight into hastily stepping back, as if afraid of following the same fate as the Morning Knight.

And Fang Hong let out a light breath, his back was already soaked with cold sweat. The power of the explosion had been greater than he had expected — but fortunately, as he stepped on the firm ground, he thought his estimate had not been too wrong. Otherwise, if he had trapped himself, that would have been a huge embarrassment.

He exhaled and then continued forward.

”Ah—” Tianlan cried out in alarm, ”What happened?”

It wasn’t just her, everyone else was also surprisingly and inexplicably looking at the scene. Only Gita seemed very calm, and she whispered, ”It’s the underground layer.”

Tianlan was slightly stunned, ”The underground layer?”

”In the battle between Silver Weslan of Mount Holy Pact and the Tip of Thebes brigade. Luffa used the Clockwork Fairy to blow up the underground layer of the Crystal Castle, annihilating the Tip of Thebes brigade in one go. Sister Fuli should still remember, right?”

”Ah—!”
