Pillar of Yita

”We should wait until they leave, Lady Nicopolis,” Fang Hong replied nonchalantly.

Nicopolis then closed her eyes as if she didn’t wish to utter another word to Fang Hong. After a little while, however, she reopened her eyes and surveyed Fang Hong from head to toe with her golden gaze.

The look in her eyes was as if she was calculating where to begin slicing this damned human into two.

This scrutiny made Fang Hong’s skin crawl, and once everyone else had left, he also began to feel afraid, cautiously asking, ”Is there something... wrong with me, Lady Nicopolis?”

”Nothing,” Nicopolis replied coldly, ”It’s just that time flies in my sight, allowing me to easily see the visage of death.”

Fang Hong shuddered and chuckle nervously, ”The I must be living quite long.”

”If you dare to deceive me, even a long life can become very short,” Nicopolis answered earnestly, silently adding a sentence in her heart. ”Even without deception, you won’t live past tonight, I swear on the Verdant.”

Time ticked by second by second.

Fang Hong said nothing, and Nicopolis naturally maintained a stern expression.

But finally, Nicopolis lost her last bit of patience and asked again, ”How long do you plan to drag this out, until dawn, until I become a statue? Do you think I am one of Tanalia’s inferior Giants?”

Fang Hong did have such a plan, though it was just a thought.

He hurriedly shook his head. ”That’s not it. I just have one more request.”

Nicopolis let out an angry roar, almost turning into a whirlwind, and in the blink of an eye, Fang Hong felt lighter as he was once again hoisted into the air by his neck.

”Do you really think I have no way to deal with you?” Lady Dark Giant Dragon shook with anger, her golden pupils narrowing into thin lines, her voice colder than icy water.

”I didn’t mean that... cough cough, please put me down... cough cough,” Fang Hong finally realized the feeling Atira had before, feeling like he was about to pass out, he hurriedly slapped Nicopolis’s scaly arm weakly, saying, ”I... didn’t say I wouldn’t give it to you, Lady... Nicopolis, cough cough cough.”

As soon as he finished speaking, Nicopolis let go, and Fang Hong fell heavily to the ground, almost biting his tongue.

He clutched his neck in distress, looking at this violent mother dragon, quickly took out the package from his bosom, ”Here is the thing, but you must ensure my safety first—”

”What do you want to do?”

”I’d like Lady Nicopolis to retreat to the edge of the square first,” Fang Hong pointed in a direction, ”Then I leave the thing here, you come to get it, while I leave in another direction.”

A brief silence followed.

Nicopolis squinted her eyes, looking mockingly at Fang Hong. This human probably thought this was a safe method, but he could never understand how powerful a Dark Giant Dragon was to come up with this ridiculous idea.

He probably wouldn’t dream that the distance from him to the other side of the square was more than enough for her to kill him a hundred times.

She suppressed the mocking in her heart and nodded blankly as if agreeing to his request. ”You better not try any tricks,” she warned as usual before turning to walk towards the other side of the square.

Fang Hong also suppressed the throbbing in his heart. He watched Nicopolis step by step towards the edge of the square, and suddenly, with all his might, he threw the package in one direction.

Nicopolis was not fooled by his action.

”You’re courting death!” the Dark Giant Dragon screamed.

She probably didn’t expect this worm to still dare to trick her at the brink of death. But her mind was clear enough to prioritize, and she spread her wings and flew toward the direction where the package was thrown first.

Unfortunately, human plans cannot match the fates.

As Fang Hong ran, he gestured with his hand and from one direction, a golden light suddenly flew through the darkness, hitting the package dead on.

The package took a turn in mid-air, and Nicopolis, caught off-guard, missed it completely.

And when she looked again, she just saw Fang Hong steadily catching the package again. This sight nearly made Nicopolis explode with rage.

She finally understood that this damned human had never intended to hand over the item from the very beginning. A towering rage burnt up her reason in an instant, and she screamed as she turned back in mid-air, diving straight for Fang Hong.

And this dive, fueled by full rage, held no restraint whatsoever.

In her view, this human had planned every single step beautifully, but unfortunately, he was just a bit too slow. He was so slow that the distance from him to the edge of the square was more than enough for her to kill him a hundred times.

A deep whooshing sound bore down on Fang Hong.
