Pillar of Yita

It was as if they were experiencing an earthquake; City Hall trembled slightly, and dust trickled down from the ceiling.

After confirming the last mission’s location, Recall fell silent. After a while, he asked, ”Do you think the most critical scene of this mission at the Hustings Cathedral is very likely?”

Fang Hong looked out the window. The sporadic ghosts had already exited the Forest. A bone arrow shot from the darkness struck the window frame with a crisp snap.

Only then did he lower the curtain, allowing the room to return to darkness, ”How long do you think we can hold out here?”

”...”

Fang Hong said, ”The unknown past from thirty years ago might hold such an answer. Behind the chaotic phantoms of Dolifen, in fact, is to convey this very point. The regrets that occurred in this city thirty years ago are waiting for people thirty years later to make amends for.”

”It’s not only true for Dragon’s Golden Eyes but also for another side within this city. Do you know about ghosts? They are the embodiment of obsession, an interweaving of revenge and vision. A city’s Resentful Spirit has been silent here for thirty years. Although this city has been corrupted by the power of the Dark Giant Dragon, the deeper the shadow, the stronger the desire for the dawn—”

”I have a vague feeling that behind the righteousness’s side compromising and retreating, there lies a hope for a desperate counterattack. The other side of the chessboard hides a small act of goodwill until the last moment, waiting for change, needing just a fulcrum to shift the entire power of the chess game.”

”I guess, that answer is hidden beneath Hustings,”

Fang Hong spoke quietly, the silhouette in his mind becoming clearer, eventually taking the shape of a somewhat frail young girl. She looked at him and smiled faintly.

But after a moment, she transformed into another woman.

That woman stood before him, quietly looking at him, her finger pointed at his chest, her steadfast gaze as if telling him.

That was the truth behind all the illusions.

Everyone stood in silence, the young man’s words seemingly possessed a power that could sway hearts, representing not just a mission and a commission, but also a hopeful goodwill.

In the darkness, all the low whispers seemed to vanish, as if silent gazes were watching them from behind.

Those pleading gazes came from thirty years prior.

They had been trapped here far too long.

”I think...” a member of Tabopolis hesitantly began, ”Mr. Ade is quite right, there’s no reason for Dragon’s Golden Eyes to stir up trouble here if the other side in the Phantom Realm hasn’t done anything in thirty years.”

”It might be waiting for an opportunity—” Red Leaf quietly told the others, ”This opportunity is us, did you know? Our informant sent a message earlier that the unlucky Jeffrey has disappeared, an unprecedented change in this Phantom Realm.”

Tianlan, Gita, Atira, and Hilveld glanced at each other.

Tianlan went to check where the Papalarians’ Crossbowman was, but unfortunately, the latter was nowhere to be found for the moment.

Recall too fell silent.

He looked at the other members of the Guild.

The City Hall was easy to defend but hard to attack, yet the hope for success there was slim; leaving to head towards Hustings Cathedral might offer a chance to turn the tables, yet it also came with uncertainties.

As the commander of this operation for the Tabopolis Oak Knights.

The responsibility to make a decision at this moment fell on him.

”So, does anyone know the way to Hustings Cathedral?” After a long time, he finally asked in a somewhat subdued voice.

Red Leaf’s eyes sparkled.

The other members of Tabopolis also cheered in unison, some even high-fiving each other.

Seeing his subordinates’ reactions, Recall also breathed a sigh of relief.

It was time to teach those arrogant fools from the Dragonfire Guild a lesson, he thought.

In fact, he was no different; ever since the Dragonfire Guild’s sneak attack forced him into Dolifen, he had been harboring a bellyful of anger. Compared to defense, who wouldn’t prefer to take the initiative? Even if they died, at least it would be thrilling.

He saw Red Leaf giving him a thumbs-up on the sly and couldn’t help but chuckle. He turned back to look at the young man who had made him determined. If this battle failed, it goes without saying, but if it succeeded—

It might be recorded prominently in the annals of the Eteliria Guild.

Over the years, the Knights only had such standout opportunities in a few large missions, not to mention several times as a supporting role for the Rainbow Alliance.

Community cases of desperate counterattacks are the most eye-catching; this might be another great opportunity to promote the Guild.

And the young man orchestrating all of this was still just a rookie.

He remembered some of the things he had done at that age, feeling embarrassed and somewhat genuinely impressed—not just Fang Hong, Red Leaf was also a rare good seedling recently discovered by the Guild.

As well as the new talents of Silver Forest Spear and Elite.

And the Little Princess from Silver Weslan.

Recall had a vague feeling in his heart that he was witnessing the birth of a group of super novae, just like after the first generation of Invokers in the Stargate, that era when the Chinese Competition Region dynasty rose.

The disappointment was somewhat palpable as this generation of newcomers stepped onto the stage.
