Pillar of Yita

But he was very clear about how difficult it was to build a Floating Ship, and despite his previous ambitions, he had never thought that he could build one alone.

In Elpaxin, the scale of a shipyard ranged from a few hundred to tens of thousands of people, but even to construct the smallest class VII miscellaneous vessel, it would require the cooperation of at least dozens of people—and such ships, with a self-weight of only one to two hundred tons, were no more than dinghies that did not have the capability for ocean voyaging.

This did not even take into account the investment in venue, materials, and funding.

Apart from the governments of various countries, many top-tier wealthy clubs and large guilds also did not possess complete shipbuilding capabilities. They would mostly choose to buy ships or place orders with shipyards in their own countries.

Moreover, after enduring quite a few setbacks, he had become much more cautious than before.

Fang Hong’s thoughts were still clear as he said subconsciously, ”Why does it have to be me? I’ve only just graduated from being an Apprentice Alchemist. Whether I can grow to such a height is still uncertain. Doesn’t Miss Hilveld have better choices?”

Hilveld pondered for a moment before answering, ”It’s not like that because Mr. Ade is a Fairy Master, and he also possesses such a Dragon Soul. A voice in my heart clearly tells me—I would find it very difficult to find another candidate as suitable as him, so I trust my intuition.”

”Fairy Master? Such a Dragon Soul? What does that have to do with your father’s last wish?” Fang Hong asked.

The girl nodded. ”Have you heard of a Fairy Type Dragon Knight, Mr. Ade?”

”I’ve heard—” Fang Hong started to respond instinctively but then realized he was not in conversation with Miss Tata. He suddenly felt as if hit by the realization of a five million cash impact, but still instinctively masked his intent. ”Wait, I don’t quite understand?”

However, Miss Hilveld observed his expression and held back a laugh. This man tried to appear composed, but his face gave everything away, which she found somewhat endearing.

She didn’t answer, but instead placed her hand on the suitcase and pressed a mechanism within the gilt decoration. The suitcase snapped open, unfolding into two halves, revealing the brass thorns and roses inside, and the figurine of a girl amidst the flowers.

But this time, on the other side of the suitcase, there was a spread open piece of parchment. Upon seeing the parchment, Fang Hong found he couldn’t tear his gaze away.

The parchment was not a blueprint of a Floating Ship. Instead, within the grid drawn out by rulers and compasses, it depicted a three-dimensional view of an oddly shaped Magic Guided Conductor. The drawing was filled with dense text and data, indicating the specifications and tolerances of each set of gears, crystals, pipes large and small, pistons, and bearings.

Above the three-dimensional views, in the thick and primitive script of Ishurian Dwarves, was the name of this Magic Guided Conductor:

’Built-in Guy Crystal Array exclusive, buoyancy, and Dragon Core parallel generator, Gardelrian Fairy Type—Scheme Twenty-Seven.’

Upon seeing the configuration of this Magic Guided Conductor, Fang Hong began to formulate a hypothesis in his mind.

Gardelrian Fairy Type—Scheme Twenty-Seven, buoyancy, and Dragon Core parallel generator. And what is the Dragon Core? That is the Crystal Core and base of the Dragon Knights, which is quite different from the core base necessary for a Flexible Construct that only needs a plug, a fixture, and at most an added cooling device.

Because a Dragon Knight’s Crystal Core involves an unimaginable amount of Ether Magic Power exchange, far beyond typical Alchemy. Handling such a flow of magic power without causing the crystals and plugins in the core area to vaporize in an instant, or overheat and explode, requires a genius’s effective design.

Such designs have always been the highest state secrets strictly guarded by nations.

Fang Hong had never seen a real Dragon Core, but having not eaten pork didn’t mean he hadn’t seen pigs run—he was an Alchemist with formal academic training, after all. Through his understanding of various peripheral constructs and designs, he could at least roughly discern the authenticity of the blueprint.

Moreover, this was not an ordinary Dragon Knight’s core.

Because it was called a ’Built-in Guy Crystal Array exclusive, buoyancy, and Dragon Core parallel generator.’

What is a built-in Guy Crystal Array? They are the unified source of buoyancy for all categories and specifications of Floating Ships in Eteliria.

Any Floating Ship in Eteliria derived its power from a special type of Magic Guided Reactor—a buoyancy generator. This generator, in fact, is an alternative Magic Guided Reactor with a built-in Guy Crystal Core. When such reactors, which provide buoyancy when running, are installed in parallel, they form the basic units of the Guy Crystal Array.

That is to say, this is actually a specialized device for Floating Ships—

In Eteliria, Dragon Knight configurations vary wildly, with many different shapes and sizes; but it is only on a certain type of Knight Construct that you would find such a device.

That is the Airship-type Dragon Knight.

This is a highly specialized type of Dragon Knight. Due to its massive and unwieldy nature, it does not rank first or second among Knight Constructs, and even occupying the third tier is quite a stretch. However, compared to standard Floating Ships, it is significantly stronger, because after all, it is still a Dragon Knight.

And it is for this reason that this category of Dragon Knights has become one of the three major classes of Dragon Knights, holding a significant proportion among the Dragon Riders of various nations.
