Pillar of Yita

Parker pulled the trigger, and the bowstring swept through the air like the wind, the recoil slamming him backward. Fang Hong stabilized the little guy from behind and looked up to see the arrow turning into a black dot in the distance, hitting the Rock Shark’s broad underbelly.

Everyone’s eyes widened in curiosity, including Parker’s. A dazzling burst of firelight appeared, reminiscent of an orange and red vulture circling overhead with black wings. After flames rolled, a gray figure popped into view—a seven hundred and seventy one.

Tianlan’s mouth formed a cute O-shape in shock. The Lion People turned their heads, and with their pale silver pupils, they glanced at Fang Hong—though natives did not have a system, they could still see damage numbers.

Only Parker blinked with disbelief, looking down at his fingers, still not convinced that he was the one who had shot the arrow. Fang Hong pushed him from behind, reminding him, ”Don’t daze off, continue.”

His words at this moment were inexplicably persuasive. The Papalarians snapped back to the task and hurriedly began to pull back the crossbow machine.

After several rounds of shooting, a crack formed in the Rock Shark’s armored belly. However, the archers collectively slowed their firing rate. Their Magic Guided Reactors couldn’t compare to craftsmen’s, and after two skills, they were already more than half depleted of mana.

By this time, the Beast of Burden had already entered the fir forest ahead and was very close to the Rock Shark. Fang Hong turned back again and said to Luo Yu and the others, ”Go to the other side of the Saddle Bridge.”

”Ah, why?” Tianlan asked.

”Because it’s not safe.”

Tianlan still wanted to stay put, as it was too thrilling on this side and she hadn’t had enough, but Atira already ordered, ”Listen to Ade’s words.”

She could only follow Luo Yu and Gita with reluctance.

The group continued to pursue the Rock Shark, with tall trees speeding by on both sides, disturbing a herd of wild horses that scattered in panic.

The destruction of the armored layer alarmed and enraged the massive creature. As the group closed in, it suddenly stopped fleeing, swung its long fins around to face them, and emitted a long cry. Rock Sharks did not have vocal cords—but they could resonate through their long horns, and with that cry, countless sharp rocks soared into the air, hovering in the forest.

With another swing of its long horns, the sharp rocks shot towards the group like rain. The frontline, a temporarily formed team eager to contribute and therefore closest to the Rock Shark, was now in trouble. Rocks rained down among them, causing chaos—immediately, seven or eight rays of light represented death rose into the air.

A team at the back managed to stop in time and erect a Force Field Shield, but unluckily, a small mountain-like Primordial Crystal flew toward them. The Primordial Crystal mountain crashed against the hemispherical shield, causing thousands of points of damage. The shield shattered into pieces and the small mountain crumbled, plunging into the crowd amongst a cloud of dust.

The piercing rocks that flew towards them also swept towards Atira’s party, clattering against the Carry House and the platform. Parker shrieked and dove behind the barricade, while Fang Hong also ducked low on the other side. Only the Lion People, wielding their Double-Headed Swords, stood proudly in the rain of flying rocks, deflecting and swinging—each rock aimed at the platform shattered to pieces under their blades.

But some slipped through, striking the Carry House and the Burden Beast. The Burden Beast of Gey Ridge was better off, tough as it was and with the platform for protection, sustaining only minor scrapes. But the Carry House was in big trouble—a rock struck Fang Hong’s room, rendering the shield pinned to the wall useless as it caved in with the wall with a loud crunch.

Seeing this, Fang Hong’s heart nearly leaped out of his throat. Just as he anxiously thought to open the door, he heard Miss Tata’s voice coming through, ”Don’t worry, Mr. Knight, I’m fine, thank you for your concern.”

Fang Hong then breathed a sigh of relief.

After the rock rain passed over their heads, Tianlan, hidden on the other side of the Burden Beast, finally understood how wise Fang Hong’s advice had been and couldn’t help whispering to Gita and Luo Yu, ”Brother Ade is just a rookie, how does it seem like he knows everything?”

Gita opened her mouth, wanting to remind her that there were still many things he didn’t know. For instance, he had made many blunders at the Traveler’s Rest. However, Tianlan was unceasing in her chatter, never giving Gita the chance to speak.

Luo Yu, who had been observing carefully, said, ”Mr. Ade seems to be very familiar with the Rock Shark’s behavior.”

The three then looked over at Fang Hong.

But Fang Hong’s understanding was not limited to the Rock Shark’s behavior. For who knows how many years, he had longed for a day like this when, like the Chosen in video strategies, he could experience a battle firsthand.

Driven by a deep fascination with Eteliria and countless nights of meticulous research in virtual communities, his accumulated knowledge...

...turned into the experience of this moment—

The Beast of Burden reached directly beneath the Rock Shark, and a shadow covered the top of everyone’s heads. Each person looked up at the massive creature. Atira, who had not fought the Rock Shark before, asked instinctively, ”What should we do now, Ade?”

All eyes focused on Fang Hong as if they were regarding him as a Commander.

”If we had a Chain Spear, we could pull it down; the Rain of Fire Guild did it this way to achieve their first kill. If not, we need to find a way to get on its back, the back ridge of the Rock Shark is its weak spot,” Fang Hong replied while also looking up at the giant shark in midair, without any fear or anxiety, just full of curiosity—that was the Rock Shark, one of the unique creatures of the Sky Sea, and it was his very first time seeing such a creature in person.
