Pillar of Yita

Fang Hong made up his mind, raised his right hand, and a light blue screen appeared around him. His eyes shifted, bringing the page of knowledge and skills closer—a skill reaching D-level mastery required choosing a branch school, a crucial node where the Invoker decided their future development path, and therefore, everyone approached this decision with great caution.

Fang Hong had two most critical skills that urgently needed to be upgraded, but he had not yet decided what kind of school to choose until now, when he finally understood what path he should take.

The experience point displayed on the panel was 106,117, which was just a small fraction short of the Standard Line of 120,000 for level four at the end of level three. This was after he had used up all the cognitive experience he had accumulated before acquiring the system. Before entering the Elf Ruins, all his experiences added up were only about half of this amount, slightly over level two, a standard Apprentice Alchemist.

In other words, he had advanced two levels in just a few days. To others, this might seem like a fantasy, but it was actually the result of building up a base and then unleashing it combined with some coincidental opportunities.

The assignable experience was 43,720 points, including 8,000 from battle experience, mainly from a major battle yesterday and some accumulated during his time with the Morning Dawn Star Adventure Group. He didn’t plan to use this portion of experience yet because combat-oriented skills could only be learned with battle experience, and Alchemists rarely had as much combat experience as other professions did, nor could they afford to spend a lot of time and energy leveling up, so it must be carefully conserved.

Excluding the battle experience, there was 36,200 points of cognitive experience left, which was the reward from two events yesterday. Raising a skill from E-level to D-level mastery required between 10,000 to 17,000 points of experience, and these experience points were just enough for him to upgrade two D-level master skills.

Fang Hong chose ”Ether Knowledge” and ”Basic Magic Guided Theory (Colin Ishurian)” without hesitation. When he obtained the system at Angina Temple, he had instantly upgraded five E-level master skills, which included Basic Magic Guided Theory (Colin Ishurian), Ether Knowledge, Woodworking, Botany, and Forging.

When completing various productions, an Alchemist would more or less use some techniques from Woodworking, Forging, and even Tailoring, but these were not the main profession of an Alchemist, and the level of E-level mastery before level 15 was generally sufficient.

In fact, in Eteliria, if F-level mastery is considered an apprentice standard, E-level mastery approximately equates to a standard worker’s proficiency. At D-level mastery, one is basically considered an expert in a domain.

He first raised ”Basic Magic Guided Theory (Colin Ishurian)” to D-level mastery. After the skill upgrade, the basic production power surged from 11 to 20, and then a branch menu appeared below—

Yes, a whole page. From the end of the Magic Era, when alchemy began to develop rapidly to the present day of almost eight hundred years, even in just Colin Ishurian alone, numerous theories and ideas had been born.

These theories and ideas were vast like stars, and the branches of schools were varied, but only three of them were more mainstream—the Ishurian School Master, Control School, and Fairy School.

Fang Hong only paused for a moment before choosing the most popular Ishurian School Master with his eyes.

The reason it was popular was that the largest group among the Alchemists was still the vast majority of ordinary Alchemists. Obviously, among the Combat Artisans, it was always the domain of the Control School, which increased the maximum magic power output of the Construct and craftsman’s Magic Guided Reactor, and was more combat-oriented.

But how many were there, really, who were Combat Artisans?

Let alone the latter, the Fairy School, which was specialized for Fairy Masters and seemed seemingly suitable for him. But in fact, Fang Hong understood that it wasn’t he who controlled the fairy, but Miss Tata, so this school was not of use to him.

The Ishurian School Master, also known as the Manufacturing School, was focused on craftsman production and researches into the essence of alchemy. For the Invoker, it was that typical life profession school that most Alchemists in the Grand Guild would choose.

And this path, in the end, would lead to becoming an Artisan Master who could create Dragon Knight Rigging.

Its school effect was:

”When involved in productions related to the [Alchemy] suffix, all sources of production power increase by 40%, +10 precision in work, gaining the skills [Fine-Tuning] and [Cautious Creation].”

So-called production power was the production advancement value, the core of a life profession. After grasping the Ishurian School’s Basic Magic Guided Theory, even without considering any other bonuses, Fang Hong’s production advancement value reached as much as 28 points, nearly half more than other schools.

Not to mention the Ishurian School bonus affected all sources of production power increases, plus the synergistic effects from Analysis Attributes and Balance Coordination, including bonuses related to Forging, Woodworking, and Tailoring, it was indeed terrifying.

And this was just a beginning.

Miss Fairy sat quietly at the table watching him. This was a path toward life profession—if he couldn’t succeed, it might even impact the path of Combat Artisans as the real Combat Artisans wouldn’t spend a lot of energy on life profession productions.
