Pillar of Yita

A shadow gradually appeared over the forest and moved slowly forward.

As it advanced, the primordial crystals floating in the forest began to break free from the earth’s gravity and ascended into the sky with a roar.

Fang Hong hurriedly ran to the platform on the left side of the Fore Saddle Bridge, looking up, a floating primordial crystal flew over his head. And such scenes were everywhere in the forest at this moment, not far off even hovered a crystal as large as a small mountain, with a layer of loose soil below it shedding and falling like sand.

This was due to a resonance effect caused by a rich aggregation of Earth Attribute Ether Magic Power, looking higher, one could see the source of the resonance—a massive side-hole creature in mid-air, the Rock Shark, moving forward leisurely.

Its appearance was similar to the bull shark on Earth, with a broad and robust trunk and a spindle-shaped streamlined body, but like a dark cloud, its size was unknown many times larger. Its head bore a blade-like long horn, at least a quarter of its body length, and behind the long horn, its belly to spine was covered with a rugged hard layer.

This hard layer was not made of bone plates or warty objects, but actual rock. The Rock Shark’s long horn was filled with abundant Earth Attribute Ether, attracting similar crystalline substances to enrich around it, coexisting from its juvenile period and eventually forming a solid armor.

And this was also the origin of the Rock Shark’s scientific name—

Apparently, the Rock Shark had not noticed the tiny creatures in the forest below, continuing to move forward at ease. Although it occasionally also attacked villages and camps, humans were not commonly on its diet.

Fang Hong also saw other ’fellow travelers’ in the forest. There were three groups of adventurers, one of which, like them, had a medium-sized Beast of Burden, but they lacked an excellent woodworking professional like Luo Yu, thus their Beast of Burden only carried saddles, without a platform or Carry House.

The Beast of Burden must be Aqueen Grey Tree Sloth, exceptionally ugly, but mild-mannered. This creature usually lived in the warmer Giant Tree Hills and clearly had never seen a creature like the Rock Shark, seeming uneasy, hesitating to move forward no matter how the Beast Tamer spurred it. Out of desperation, that group had to disembark from the Beast of Burden and walk toward this direction.

On this side, the Gey Ridge Burden Beast also encountered the same problem.

Fortunately, there was Atira, the Elf Girl jumped onto the giant beast’s neck, laying down and hugging the docile beast, softly comforting it with her Druid abilities, calming it down.

This way, at least Fang Hong and his companions didn’t need to dismount and walk—

The adventurers looked in this direction with some surprise. Druid was one of the few professions that truly required faith to choose, and Goddess Aimeya had never agreed to open her Divine Strength to the Invokers, hence believers of Aimeya were rare among them.

Of course, excluding the atheist Gray Crow Druid—Fang Hong looked at Atira and subconsciously recalled the Druid of Silver Shadow he had met in the Elf Ruins. The latter was undoubtedly a Gray Crow, Supervisor, which furthermore reminded him of that Nighthawk Summoner.

If he had the chance, he was definitely going to avenge the arrow of that day, both for himself and for Elsa.

At that moment, Parker also ran back from a distance, catching up to the Gey Ridge Burden Beast’s pace and nimbly leaping onto the rope net with a sprint, climbing up from the outside to the platform. Luo Yu and Tianlan on the platform each grabbed one of his short and stout arms, pulling the Papalarian Crossbowman up.

As soon as Parker clambered onto the platform, he lay on the ground like a big meat bun, gasping for breath, and with his round black eyes, he looked at the others. ”I’ve worked it out with them, we’ll divide the spoils based on contribution value later, those merchants have already agreed to buy this big guy. But we don’t have a Magic Guided Conductor and Natural Historian, we need to wait for them to set up the site to lure the Rock Shark to lower its altitude.”

He said breathlessly.

Everyone nodded; the contribution value system was an effective distribution method formed in the past decade, also one of the many changes that the Invokers brought to this world. It started merely as a conventional rule agreed verbally, later, the business deity, protector of the covenant spirit, Goddess Roman, realizing an opportunity to enhance her influence, intervened and established a universally valid set of rules in the form of a divine covenant.

In simple terms, after the parties swore in the name of the Goddess, this distribution was under the watch of a powerful being from beyond, and violators mostly wouldn’t end well.

Fang Hong looked up at the other Adventure Groups.

The number of people in each Adventure Group wasn’t large, the largest had twenty to thirty members, and the smallest wasn’t much more than his team. But, indeed, their team was one of the smallest among the groups, not to mention that it included three Trainees and a large number of Life Profession Practitioners, truly a model of a soy sauce Adventure Group.

Luring the Rock Shark to lower its altitude was not difficult. Because they resided within the Cloud Sea, their eyesight was extremely poor, practically half-blind. However, high-sensitivity organs at the tip of the Rock Shark’s nose could emit a resonance wave through the unicorn, using Ether echoes to sense obstacles ahead, search for food, and avoid dangers, somewhat similar to bats, but much more efficient.

The principle of using Bait was to employ one of the Rock Shark’s favorite types of food—a special Resonance Crystal. Magic Guided Conductors and Natural Historians could make these crystals and use them to lure them to the surface to feed.
