Rebirth in Another World as the Undead Queen

Come Listen to Me Sing!

”By the way, tethys, about the enemies who attacked you earlier, do you know anything about them?”

Hearing Serea’s question, tethys thought about it for a moment, then she shook her head.

”I don’t know. The enemies appeared suddenly, and I don’t know why they attacked us either.”

Seeing that she couldn’t get any useful clues, Serea had no choice but to give up.

”At the moment, since we don’t know the origins of the enemies and Lake Nos is no longer safe, you and Nora should stay at my camp for now.”

”Thank you, Serea.”

Tethys agreed.

”Alright, if there’s nothing else, get some good rest first.”

”Okay, you too, Serea.”

After saying goodbye to Tethys, Serea walked out of the tree hole. The first thing she saw was the worried Tifia.

”Don’t worry, tethys is fine now.”

”That’s great, thank you, queen Serea!”

Tifia said, bowing deeply to Serea, and at her signal, the elf rangers let Tifia inside.

”It’s getting late, everyone should go get some rest too.”

After dismissing the crowd, Serea walked toward the treehouse. However, she didn’t notice that someone from a distance had been watching the tree hole’s entrance the entire time.

It was Beverly—more precisely, Beverly with Morzada’s soul inside her. She had just seen Tethys brought into the tree hole and noticed something unusual about the girl.

”That’s Adolf’s mental power—he’s in the forest!”

Beverly’s tone was excited, because if Adolf had also been resurrected, she could find him and ask for his help to reclaim the token.

And not just her own token; there was also another bone ring that belonged to Addis, and that too was in Serea’s possession.

It didn’t matter if Addis hadn’t been resurrected yet or if she had been killed by Serea after resurrecting. Those two tokens had to be retrieved because they determined whether or not they could be fully revived.

With this in mind, Beverly made up her mind. She would go searching for Adolf in the woods.

Clenching her fist...

”No, my strength is still not enough. I’ll have to endure a while longer. Besides, I still don’t know Adolf’s exact situation, but maybe that woman knows something.”

Beverly muttered, and the ”woman” she referred to was Camilla.

”Beverly!”

A call came from behind her. Beverly turned around to see Camilla walking toward her.

”Your body hasn’t fully recovered yet—don’t walk around rashly.”

”I’m fine now. And whether I’ve recovered or not, shouldn’t you know better than anyone, Camilla?”

”D-Don’t joke about that...”

Camilla blushed and hurriedly led Beverly back inside.

Supported by Camilla and placed on the bed, Beverly asked seemingly casually, ”By the way, I saw Queen Serea bringing a girl back. Do you know who that is, Camilla?”

”Um... it seems to be someone the Queen saved. I don’t know anything else.”

As Camilla spoke, Beverly gave a subtle, almost imperceptible smile.

”Where exactly from?”

”I think it was Lake Nos.”

”I see...”

Through her conversation with Camilla, she had already gotten a clue about where to find Adolf.

But before making a move, she had to recover her body as soon as possible. Restoring her body required a great deal of life force, and just by absorbing it from Camilla, this vampire, it was way too slow, so...

”By the way, I remember you brought back a lot of potions earlier, right?”

”Yeah, because we had to rush the work.”

”That sounds exhausting.”

Seeing her chance, Beverly quickly changed the subject.

”Let me help you, Camilla—I know a little alchemy too.”

”Eh? But...”

Camilla started to protest, but Beverly was already hugging her from behind.

”Can I?”

Beverly’s voice carried a magical force, which tried to invade Camilla’s consciousness. Her eyes dimmed for a brief moment before clearing up again.

It was that same force again—Camilla thought Beverly had seemed a little strange.

Camilla felt that something was off, but looking back at Beverly resting her head on her shoulder, her suspicions disappeared.

Beverly is just Beverly—I’m overthinking it.

”Then I’ll go ask the Queen. I’m sure she’d be happy about it.”

”Mm. I’m so glad I can help you, Camilla.”

Although she said that out loud, Beverly was really after the Blood Spring. That item contained immense life force, perfect for her to absorb; as an alchemy material, as long as she became the camp’s alchemist, she could get access to it.

Seeing that Camilla was not suspicious at all, Beverly felt rather pleased with herself.

”Looks like my ’enchantment’ hasn’t been discovered. Good—I’ll just keep controlling her bit by bit until she becomes my slave.”

That was Beverly’s thought, but she didn’t know that currently, her enchantment would not work on vampires at all. Also, she hadn’t realized that after a few days together, she herself had developed some special feelings toward Camilla...

Suddenly, Beverly reached out and lifted Camilla’s priest robe.

”Ah!”

”It’s late. Let’s get some rest.”

”Mm...”

Camilla’s voice was very quiet. The lights soon went out, and rustling sounds began to fill the room.

...

The scene returned to the treehouse where Serea studied the Deep Sea Relic in her hands.

”Let’s test the method for unsealing it now.”

After preparing mentally, Serea transformed into her Deep Sea Mermaid form. Her tail appeared, and then, imitating Winnie in her memory, she began to sing.

”Ah~”

A sorrowful melody echoed out, and at the same time, a faint black light emanated from the Deep Sea Relic.

Vmmm!

The stone vibrated and began to release magic. Seeing this, Serea’s face lit up with joy.

”It really works!”

Excited, Serea tried to absorb the power.

System: Insufficient energy, absorption failed.

The message had changed. Before, it directly indicated absorption failed; now, it said the energy was insufficient.

”What energy is it referring to?”

System: Please explore this on your own.

”...”

Immediately, Serea’s face fell. Just as she was at a loss, Dogsius’s voice sounded.

”Master, a peculiar power has flowed into the gemstone, and its source is... Miss Lilith.”

”Lilith?”

Serea turned and saw Lilith clapping her hands.

Slap slap slap!

”That was beautiful! Why did you stop singing, Serea?”

As she said that, the power also ceased, and a new prompt appeared.

System: New material ’Faith Crystal’ acquisition method unlocked. Gathering Faith Crystals.

”!!!”

Serea’s eyes immediately brightened. Could it be...

She rushed over to Lilith and said,

”Come listen to me sing!”
