Rebirth in Another World as the Undead Queen

Heartfelt Intentions Conveyed

Thud!

Looking at Lilith’s face that was now so close, Serea was completely stunned.

”You...”

Under Serea’s shocked gaze, lilith opened her arms and embraced her, pressing her head to Serea’s shoulder. Only after holding back for a long while did she finally speak.

”I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m sorry. I was too willful before. I clearly knew that wasn’t something you could decide, Serea, but I still directed my anger at you. I even hurt you when you tried to keep me.”

”Lilith...”

Serea called softly, but Lilith went on.

”After leaving you, Serea, I regretted it so much. I wanted to come back, but after hurting you, I couldn’t forgive myself, so I kept running away... Until I heard... I heard that you, Serea, had...”

Lilith’s voice started to choke. News of Serea’s death had shattered her world; now that she had regained what was lost, she could avoid it no longer.

”I’m sorry. Please forgive my stubbornness. I want to go back, go back to when I could still be sisters with you, Serea.”

Lilith was pleading for Serea’s forgiveness.

Warm liquid soaked through her pajamas. Serea was a bit dazed, but then she smiled gently and helped Lilith sit up.

Serea sat up. Lilith looked her straight in the eyes, waiting for her answer.

”In my memory, I’ve never been mad at you, lilith. If you can come back, that would be the best.”

”Serea!”

Seeing Serea willing to forgive her, lilith wept tears of joy.

”That’s wonderful.”

With that exquisitely beautiful face right in front of her, Serea gazed for a moment, and suddenly a strange urge surged inside her.

Looking at Lilith so close, she unconsciously leaned forward.

”Mm!”

The warmth at her lips was like a fleeting dragonfly’s touch. As soon as Serea realized what she was doing, she hurriedly pulled away, flustered, not understanding why her body instinctively made that move.

Then she suddenly remembered—she was still in Blood Frenzy mode, motivated by her thirst for blood.

Realizing the seriousness of this, Serea hurriedly deactivated Blood Frenzy and tried to explain to Lilith.

”No, it’s not what you think, lilith, just now I—mm!”

But before she could finish, lilith unexpectedly reached out and pressed a finger to Serea’s lips, signaling her not to say more.

”If it’s Serea... I don’t dislike it.”

As she said this, lilith’s face turned crimson. Of course, in that statement, ninety percent was still sisterly affection—the rest, even she wasn’t sure.

That night, outside, the wind and snow howled. The camp passed another peaceful and quiet night.

...

Early the next morning—

Thud thud thud!

The sound of someone’s footsteps echoed on the wooden floor, waking Serea from her sleep. She sat up with a start.

Looking around at the clean and bright wooden house, she saw Celia setting breakfast on the table nearby.

”You’re awake. But...”

Celia looked at Serea, who had sat up, and asked a question.

”Are you Her Highness Serea or Her Highness Lilith?”

”Huh?”

Serea’s brain didn’t catch up in time. She answered as if it was the most obvious thing in the world.

”Of course, I’m Serea.”

”Oh.”

Celia acknowledged, and Serea suddenly recalled last night.

”By the way, about Lilith—I think I had a very strange dream...”

Barely halfway through her sentence, Serea was fully awake. Lowering her head, she saw Lilith curled up beside her, still asleep and smiling, as if lost in a beautiful dream.

”Lilith!”

In an instant, memories of last night flooded Serea’s mind.

”Come with me for a moment, I have something to tell you.”

”Oh.”

Celia spoke up. Hearing this, though Serea was a bit confused, she got up and followed her outside the wooden house.

It was morning. The camp was bustling once more. Snowflakes drifted onto Serea’s pajamas, making her shiver as she asked,

”Can’t you just say what you need to inside?”

”Don’t worry, it won’t take long.”

Celia said, then turned to face Serea.

”Does Lilith know that Her Highness Serea has already...”

Celia didn’t have the courage to finish the sentence, but Serea already understood her meaning.

”I haven’t told her. There’s no way I could bring up something like that.”

”That’s good, then.”

Celia breathed a sigh of relief, but then she grew serious again.

”Can I ask you for one thing?”

”What is it?”

”Please keep hiding it from Her Highness Lilith.”

”......”

Serea was silent.

”Her Highness Lilith is a pitiful soul. I grew up with her and I can see how much she treasures Her Highness Serea. Compared to me, as her sister, she’s even less able to bear losing you.”

”Is that so...”

Murmuring, Serea started thinking about something.

Unconsciously, she had already begun to take ’Serea’ as her true self—her memories, her feelings, her bonds...

All of these things had already influenced her very soul and mind.

Serea had always ignored or, rather, avoided this issue—but now that it had appeared once more, she couldn’t help but ask herself—

Am I... Serea?
