Rebirth in Another World as the Undead Queen

Deep Sea Merman

Returning to reality, Serea used Dogsius’s gaze to examine herself—long black hair, a black fishtail, black pupils. Other than that, there were no major differences from her original appearance. Next, she looked at her skills.

Her original skills had been partially replaced and augmented due to her transformation. The new skills were...

Ocean’s Call (Tier 3), water Flow Control (Tier 2), rhythm of Sound (Tier 3), summon: Warbeast Deep Sea Water Elemental (Tier 4).

Her skills were still quite powerful, but there was just one question: how could she move on land?

Just as Serea was fretting over this predicament, Lola and the others gathered around her, full of curiosity as they studied her.

”What a beautiful fishtail.”

”Serea as a mermaid is really cute~”

Lilith hugged her. Being hugged, Serea retorted,

”Shouldn’t you all be thinking about how to turn me back right now?!”

”Why turn you back? Isn’t this just fine?”

Nora swam back and forth around Serea, scrutinizing her closely. After a moment, she exclaimed,

”And it’s such a rare black fishtail! I wish I had a tail like that myself.”

Nora’s words caught Serea’s attention.

”If I’m not mistaken, you had transformed into a human before, right?”

”Yeah, what about it?”

”What do I need to do?”

”It’s simple. Just like this.”

As she spoke, nora leaped out of the Blood Pool, a faint light glimmering over her blue fishtail. Her legs appeared, and she dove into Doluka’s arms, who caught her.

Upon landing, nora took a few steps.

”Transforming into human form is an innate ability for us merfolk.”

”And the specific steps?”

”Well... It’s hard to describe. It actually took me a long time to figure out how to do it myself.”

”Then who taught you?”

”My lady Tethys.”

”Tethys? The lake Goddess is called Tethys? Looks like I’ll have to go find her...”

Serea said, then looked at Nora again.

”Let’s go. I’ll take you back now. I want to meet this ’Tethys’ you mentioned.”

”Well... if you’re a mermaid, I guess it’s not impossible.”

”Then let’s set off right away.”

As soon as she finished speaking, Serea prepared to leap out of the Blood Pool, but suddenly she realized a severe problem—

She had no legs. How was she supposed to move?

At the thought, Serea looked helplessly at Celia.

Celia, understanding her meaning, reluctantly walked over, spread her arms, and picked Serea up. Being carried princess-style by Celia with everyone watching made Serea blush inexplicably.

Seeing this, Lola and the others all covered their mouths and smiled knowingly.

”No laughing. Go prepare the guards for departure.”

”Yes, queen Serea.” xN

The group left, and Little Black quickly rallied the Skeleton Warrior troops. However, before everyone could set out, maro rushed in ahead.

”Queen Serea, I—”

When he saw Serea in her current state, he froze.

”If you have something to say, just spit it out.”

”Oh, uh, right. There’s a mermaid girl outside saying she wants to see Nora and you.”

”A mermaid? Let’s go see.”

With that, Serea led everyone out of the camp. Not far from the camp was the Mohr River. By its banks, many blood slaves had already gathered, and in the river, a girl’s half-body emerged on the water’s surface.

It was that ’lake Goddess’ girl from yesterday!

”Miss Tethys!”

Upon seeing the girl in the river, nora cried out in excitement and rushed over.

”Nora!”

Tethys called out, astonished, not expecting to actually meet Nora here.

The two girls met as Serea stood aside, unimpeded. Nora dived into the river, transformed into a blue mermaid, and hugged Tethys.

”Really, can’t you let me worry less for even a minute?”

Tethys grumbled, but the concern in her eyes betrayed her feelings.

At this moment, tifia also walked out from the camp. The instant he saw Tethys, he cried out in surprise.

”Lake—”

But realizing something, he quickly bit his tongue. Since, apart from him, nobody else knew Tethys’s true identity, the lizardmen all stood behind Serea.

”This is the Nora you were looking for. As agreed, I’m returning her to your side.”

Serea stepped out, sitting atop Chips. Hearing that familiar voice, tethys instantly recognized her as the one who tricked her and fled yesterday.

”You...”

At first glance, tethys immediately noticed Serea’s black fishtail, and then she showed an expression of utter astonishment.

It was actually black...

”No need to stare at me. Isn’t your stupid rock the reason for all this? Now, tell me how to change back.”

Serea’s words finally snapped Tethys out of her surprise.

”So it’s because of the Deep Sea Relic’s power... No wonder...”

Thinking, she gave Serea a meaningful smile.

How dare she trick me—now’s my chance for payback!

”That’s not the proper attitude for asking someone for help.”

”Then what do you want?”

”Well...”

Tethys examined Serea—black fishtail, long black hair. Yesterday, when she (Pelam disguised as Serea) met her, tethys had decided this was an excellent body. Now, transformed by the Deep Sea Relic’s power, she was basically her ideal body.

So, if she was going to get revenge for being tricked...

She’d use ”that” trick. Ahem, and it’s definitely just for revenge. Nothing else.

”Miss Tethys, Serea helped me yesterday and gave me lots of good food. Please help her,” said Nora.

”Are you really so easily converted by some snacks?”

Nora quickly shook her head.

”Well, if it’s just to help you transform back into a human, I can do that.”

As she spoke, tethys gave a mischievous smile, making Serea feel nerves.

”Then...”

”Catch me! If you can keep up, I’ll agree to help you.”

Tethys suddenly said. Without giving Serea a chance to reply, she dove into the Mohr River and swam swiftly into the distance.

Seeing this, Serea gritted her teeth and instructed,

”You all follow along the bank behind me. I’m going after her.”

With that, Serea leaped into the Mohr River. Now in merman form, her speed underwater was extremely fast, completely on par with Tethys and Nora ahead.

”Queen Serea!”

The others called after her, but Serea was already far off. They had no choice but to follow along the riverbank as ordered.
