Rebirth in Another World as the Undead Queen

The Sudden Attack

”Offer up my flesh and welcome my master’s descent!”

A mage dressed in purple loudly proclaimed, then reached out to touch the black sphere. The moment his hand made contact, the black sphere transformed into a stream of liquid, surging into his body through his seven orifices.

”Urgh, aaargh!!!”

The mage wailed in agony, terrifying the other four mages present.

”Teac...teacher, are you all right?”

Judging from their tone, the screaming mage was their mentor. But what exactly were they gathered here to do?

No one answered, for the only person who truly knew had just vanished for good.

The black sphere completely entered the mage’s body, after which he went limp, his body hanging loosely. The apprentices, seeing this, tried to approach and check on him.

But suddenly, a mass of death energy condensed in the mage’s hand. In the next instant, the energy lashed out and wrapped around one of the apprentices.

Sizzle, sizzle, sizzle!

Corrosive white smoke rose, and before the apprentice could even scream, he crumbled into a heap of bones.

”Ahh!”

The remaining three apprentices were scared out of their wits. They had thought they were simply summoning some ordinary Undead followers. Clearly, this black sphere was nothing so mundane.

”None of you will escape.”

A chilling, deep voice sounded. The Skeleton Warriors then got up and swiftly butchered the remaining three apprentices. Their possessed mentor spread his hands, and the flesh and blood of the apprentices turned into a pure death energy that merged into his own body.

”It’s still not enough. I need more.”

A bizarre voice echoed, and then the mage glanced down at his current body.

”And I must hurry and reconstruct the body.”

As the voice spoke, Serea’s face grew extremely grim.

”Who!”

But suddenly, the mage looked over, and at that instant, the Skeleton Warriors turned to stare at the hiding place of Little Black and Little White.

Whoosh!

A mass of gray Death Shock was unleashed, forcing Little Black and Little White out from their hiding spot.

Death energy locked onto both of them, continuing to pursue even as they dodged. Seeing this, Little White nocked two arrows to his bowstring.

Piercing Magic Arrows!

  Thwack thwack!

The powerful tips broke through the death energy; Little White’s newly mastered skill happened to directly counter the opponent’s ability.

”Hmm!”

Seeing Little White’s beautiful strike, a flash of interest passed through the mage’s eyes.

”A Skeleton evolving toward a high-level Undead and a... Hunter!”

For a moment, the mage was intrigued, his lips curling into a sinister smile.

”What luck. If I can control two powerful Undead followers, it will greatly assist my upcoming plans.”

The mage then spread his hands, aiming at Little Black and Little White.

”Submit to me!”

A powerful will manifested as a tangible mental assault. However, because Little Black and Little White were Serea’s Undead, the mental attack landed squarely on Serea.

”Be careful, master!”

Sensing this, Dogsius intervened. The mage’s incoming mental force was instantly devoured by him.

Realizing his mental power had vanished without effect, and that the two Undead remained unscathed, the mage wore a look of absolute shock. This, in turn, enraged Little Black.

”How dare you disrespect the Queen!”

Under the order for reinforcements, eighty, talius, and Black Knight led a charge of Skeleton Warriors.

A squad of black-armored soldiers appeared. Compared to them, the mage’s own Skeleton Warriors—clad in rusty scraps—immediately looked like fodder.

”So many, and several other high-level Undead as well!”

Faced with such strength, the mage was stunned. Combining this with his depleted mental power, he realized something.

”I see now—it’s your so-called Queen who controls you all, isn’t it?”

Having figured it out, the mage gazed at Little Black. Through the flame in Little Black’s soul, the mage confirmed his suspicion and smiled faintly.

”Then I shall pay her a personal visit!”

With that, the mage bent forward, and a black orb shot out of his body. As it did, the mage collapsed like a puppet whose strings had been cut.

The orb flew straight at Little Black. Little Black tried to block it, but it shapeshifted into formless mist and bypassed his defenses, vanishing into his body.

On the other side, Serea experienced a stabbing pain in her head and was instantly pulled into her mind realm, her body slumping to the side. Lilith hurried to support her, crying out loudly.

”Serea!”

But Serea couldn’t hear, for she was inside her own consciousness space, staring at a black sphere not far away. Patting her forehead, Serea muttered,

”Why do all the troublesome things come looking for me...”

As she spoke, the black sphere remained motionless, as if carefully scrutinizing Serea. After a moment, a bizarre, excited voice issued from within it.

”Oh, what a perfect body. With this vessel, I’ll surely be able to birth the mightiest child of darkness.”

”What did you say?”

Serea’s tone turned frosty—she didn’t care for this kind of greeting at all.

”Are all humans so ignorant they can’t understand plain words? Fine, let me spell it out: you should feel honored. I, the great ’Morzada,’ have chosen you as my mate. With your help, as darkness descends, you shall bear my offspring—a symbol of ’destruction.’”

The voice inside the black sphere sounded both contemptuous and haughty, but both feelings only angered Serea more.

”No one has ever dared talk to me like that before.”

”Haha, little girl, are you angry? That look suits you. Show me more expressions like that from now on. But first, I must make you mine...”

As the black sphere spoke, its tone grew more sinister. Then it transformed into a liquid and shot out—Serea immediately understood, having just witnessed this possession ability.

However...

”You really haven’t figured out where you are, have you?”

Serea’s words made the black sphere falter. In the next moment, a wave of murderous intent enveloped its consciousness, the sensation akin to meeting a natural predator.

”Awoo!”

A pitch-black maw suddenly snapped shut and directly devoured half the liquid form of the black sphere.

”Aaaargh!”

The sphere let out a soul-rending wail—like the sound of a soul being torn apart.

It slipped away in terror, only to spot the monster at Serea’s side—a—

Wide, cute eyes. Short limbs. A little antenna-like tuft. A completely pitch-black body.

”So tasty! Master, can I eat the rest?”

Dogsius’s adorable voice rang out, though to the black sphere it became the whisper of death itself.

A Parasite Demon, able to restrain all souls!
