Berserk God of War

Chapter 736: Chapter 736 Overlord Commerce, Venerable Descends

Sikong Jing’s proposal was also strongly supported by Su Zhenglong and Su Yuexi, with Mei Xiaofang being especially excited.

They too deeply missed their hometown and none of them had ever imagined they could return...

When they left, many people had said it would be impossible to return because they couldn’t cross the terrifying Minglong Mountain Range.

But now, their son-in-law was so powerful that it seemed effortless.

Mei Xiaofang had already decided that upon returning home, she would find her old friends and impress them fiercely.

The next morning, the second elder of Wangyou Sect took a deep breath and came to Su Zhenglong’s courtyard gate; she decided to start by approaching Sikong Jing’s family, urging Su Zhenglong and the others to counsel Sikong Jing...

She prepared to move them with emotions first, then reason with them.

Dong dong dong...

Gently knocking on the door, the second elder felt she had never used such a polite tone in her life as she said, ”Little Su, Xiao Mei, I am Mo Hui, the second elder of Wangyou Sect, here to provide Martial Arts guidance to your eldest daughter, Su Yue Immortal.”

However, it was eerily quiet inside; the second elder blinked and knocked a few more times.

Still quiet, she eventually used the power of the Spirit Platform Sea of Consciousness, only accessible in the Reverse Soul Realm, to gently probe inside.

The next instant, her expression drastically changed, and the second elder burst into the room.

Scanning around, the courtyard was empty, with many things packed up neatly.

Only a piece of paper was left on the table, clearly in the handwriting of their young sect master: ”Second Elder, my brother and his family are going on a journey for a while. You all head back to Wangyou Sect first, and I’ll return in three months.”

After a long, long time...

Mad laughter and screaming came from Drunk Dragon Mountain: ”Sikong Jing, you can’t do this, return our Young Sect Master.”

On the paper, Sikong Ling naturally didn’t say where they went.

Soon after, roars from the powerhouses of Wangyou Sect were heard throughout Long Night Imperial City.

”Sikong Jing, you irresponsible lad, you’re jeopardizing your sister’s future, you’re harming your sister!”

At the same time...

A Divine Spaceship belonging to the Long Night Black Burning Army had already left Long Night Imperial City.

On board were not only Sikong Jing’s family but also the families of Sui Yu, Xia Dalian, and others from the Canglong Small Domain.

Basically, apart from those who had been eliminated by the Black Burning Army and those who followed Yan Ruyu, everyone had come.

All of them were returning to their hometown with Sikong Jing, each one of them filled with excitement... Some had become Dark Wing Soldiers, now all of them powerful, thanks to following Sikong Jing.

...

As Sikong Jing and others were returning to the Canglong Small Domain, in the East Plain North Land Battle Martial City, at the ancient building of Overlord Commerce.

The meeting room was silent, with a cold body laid in the middle of five decision-makers and eight stewards.

The body was that of Ren Dongmeng, and standing behind the corpse was Hua Lidian, who had just finished explaining Ren Dongmeng’s cause of death and had also used a treasure similar to the Heavenly Dao Illusion Mirror to restore evidence of Ren Dongmeng’s engagement in the conflict.

That is, the latter was ready to expose the secret of Su Yuexi’s War Body.

However, the words ”War Body” were deliberately omitted by Hua Lidian, silencing the audio, and what the others heard was only that Ren Dongmeng was about to reveal the secret of Su Yuexi in revenge against Sikong Jing’s figurative slap.

In the end, she was literally taken down by Sikong Jing, riding an Iron Bone Flying Vulture.

”Bang...”

Suddenly, a male steward slammed his hand down and, staring menacingly at Hua Lidian, snarled, ”Steward Hua, even if Steward Ren was wrong first, you shouldn’t have just watched Sikong Jing annihilate him.”

At this moment, all five decision-makers wore grim faces, while the six deacons had different expressions, none of them having said a word yet.

Only this male steward, his face flushed with rage, was visibly angry.

Hua Lidian glanced at the other party and spoke indifferently, ”I have advised him many times, but Steward Ren still persists in her own way. She has violated the rules of the Overlord Commerce, and getting killed for involving herself in conflicts is her own fault.”

”You... Where do we put the face of our Overlord Commerce?” the male steward roared.

The evidence of Steward Ren Dongmeng’s involvement in the conflict was clear. If someone killed her according to the rules, it meant she died outright, something the male steward was surely aware of.

However, generally speaking, as a fellow steward, Hua Lidian should have lent a helping hand on the scene, even if just to save Ren Dongmeng’s life.

Rules are rules, but favors are favors.

Hua Lidian, having anticipated such a scene, calmly replied, ”On the contrary, we have upheld the fairness and justice that Overlord Commerce should embody. We do not involve ourselves in any conflicts, and those who harm others getting killed can boost the reputation of Overlord Commerce.”

Pausing for a moment, Hua Lidian continued, ”On the other hand, Deacon Tian, why are you so agitated? Could the rumors be true?”

This Deacon Tian had an affair with Ren Dongmeng, something Hua Lidian already knew.

But, Deacon Tian, having a ’tiger at home,’ dared not make it public.

Hearing this, Deacon Tian’s eyes widened and, with a flushed face, he said, ”What rumors, they are nonsense...”

While speaking, he directly turned to the highest decision-maker of the East Plain Northern Land and said, ”Elder Mo, I think Steward Ren should not have died in vain, and it was very wrong for Steward Hua to stand by and watch.”

”Whether it’s Sikong Jing or Steward Hua, both should be severely punished.”

Elder Mo’s face looked extremely troubled. He was angry about Ren Dongmeng’s death, angry of course at Ren Dongmeng’s reckless behavior.

There was also worry, the worry being about Ren Dongmeng’s mother... Ju Dan!

Seeing that Elder Mo remained silent, Hua Lidian said solemnly, ”I have done nothing but what is proper, and the evidence of Ren Dongmeng’s guilt is clear... I trust Elder Mo will make the fairest decision.”

After a pause, Hua Lidian added, ”I know who Ren Dongmeng’s mother is, and I will bear this responsibility alone.”

At this, Elder Mo and the four other decision-makers exchanged glances, startled that Hua Lidian dared to let Ren Dongmeng be killed despite knowing.

Could it be that he was not afraid of trouble, or perhaps... he had connections at higher levels of the Overlord Commerce?

Thinking this, Elder Mo finally decreed, ”Ren Dongmeng died from her own reckless behavior and disregarding the rules, let’s not dwell on this matter.”

Deacon Tian’s eyes widened, and he stood up angrily, about to speak again...

Suddenly... Boom!

A terrifying presence abruptly appeared above the ancient building of the Overlord Commerce, followed by several figures swiftly descending. Elder Mo, the decision-makers, and eight deacons all trembled, unbelieving, and moved toward the doorway.

Just then, a faint voice arose, ”The highest decision maker of the East Plain Northern Land, come out.”

Upon hearing this, Elder Mo hurriedly dashed out, followed by the four decision-makers.

The eight deacons exchanged looks and rushed out as well; they knew it had to be senior officials from the Overlord Commerce, but the reason was unknown, the newcomers’ presence was just too terrifying.

As everyone landed, they saw several people standing in the courtyard, led by a tall, middle-aged man carrying a long spear.

He exuded an aura of formidable authority without showing anger.

At this point, Elder Mo hurriedly knelt down, his voice slightly trembling as he said, ”The highest decision maker of the East Plain Northern Land, Mo Ya, greets the Venerable.”

As these words were spoken, all eight deacons trembled again. The Venerable of the Overlord Commerce had actually appeared. What could this mean?

The Venerable... even in the Central Plains, such a figure was rarely seen!

They were the true senior officials of the Overlord Commerce. Each Venerable was incredibly formidable, and this was their first time seeing one.
