Berserk God of War

Chapter 704: Chapter 704: I Come to Kill, Any Problem?

”Who goes there, daring to approach the Imperial City?”

None of the soldiers of the Long Night Black Burning Army could remember what Sikong Jing looked like.

They coldly raised their weapons, and although they did not respect Cheng Yusu, at this point, they could only go with the flow.

Most importantly, several of the vice commanders of the Black Burning Army now all heeded Cheng Yusu’s commands.

However, just then, Cao Yi did the opposite and yelled, ”All of you, put down your weapons and open the city gates.”

The soldiers of the Long Night Black Burning Army widened their eyes in disbelief, looking at him.

The young man approaching had a terrifying aura and an obviously hostile demeanor, so why were they being ordered to open the city gates?

But following that, the rest of the vice commanders one by one ordered the gates to be opened, their tone leaving no room for question.

Eventually, the soldiers of the Long Night Black Burning Army obediently opened the city gates.

As Sikong Jing approached, he asked the vice commanders, ”Is there any specific news now?”

The answer he received was the shaking of heads from Cao Yi and the others.

They were just as clueless about the current situation, not knowing why the Emperor had suddenly died, nor what had happened to the Beigong Commander.

They were completely kept in the dark; Cheng Yusu did not fully trust them yet.

Sikong Jing had anticipated this and nodded, ”Await my orders at all times.”

Having said that, he strode into the Imperial City...

The city gates closed again, watching Sikong Jing slowly disappear from sight, a general asked, ”Vice Commander Cao, who is that man?”

Cao Yi took a deep breath and replied, ”You will know soon.”

”But I still want to ask you, who do you most wish to give you orders right now?” Cao Yi added another question.

The few generals exchanged glances and responded without hesitation, ”Of course, the Beigong Commander.”

”And second?” Cao Yi asked again.

The generals replied without hesitation again, ”Of course, it would be the Dark Wing Commander... what a pity, they’ve all perished.”

Regarding this answer, Vice Commanders like Cao Yi exchanged a brief look, then no more was said.

They were filled with anticipation, knowing that a crazed explosion of events was imminent, sure to be incredibly thrilling.

Meanwhile, Sikong Jing, who had entered the Imperial City, continued to walk steadily, toying with a mask in his hand. It was the very mask he had just obtained from Yisuo of Wanbao Pavilion, the newly forged Dark Wing Mask.

The former mask had been confiscated due to the death of a fake Dark Wing, so Sikong Jing needed a brand new one.

With the situation of the Beigong Xianfeng currently unclear, this mask would become of utmost importance, should anything untoward occur to him.

It would be the symbol used to command the Long Night Black Burning Army.

Why did Sikong Jing have the confidence to enter the Long Night Palace?

Because he had not only the Long Night Saint Dragon Palace and the 66th Army behind him but also the entire Long Night Black Burning Army as his support...

However, he quickly stowed away the Dark Wing Mask. He still wanted to see what the specific situation was first.

Within the Imperial City, he moved as silently as a demon beast, unnoticeable amidst the chaos that reigned, even as the patrolling Imperial Guard passed by, mistaking him for the fleeing nephew or son of a noble or minister.

After all, the Imperial City was home to many ministers and nobles.

...

Still in the study of the Imperial Palace, Ji Shengmang was about to face death, and the one to kill him would be Eunuch Zou.

Just as Eunuch Zou was about to make his move, an anxious voice suddenly came from outside.

”Young Sect Master, why did you run out like this? Haven’t I told you that with the situation unclear, you need to stay in your room?”

The people inside the study were stunned, and then one by one, a gleam flashed across their eyes...

The Young Sect Master of the Wangyou Sect, Wang Ge, why had she come?

Indeed, another cold voice came from outside in response to the anxious one, ”What room is this?”

After speaking, she didn’t wait for the reply from the pursuing Wangyou Sect experts and proceeded to stride into Ji Shengmang’s study.

Instantly, the entire study seemed to freeze over, as everyone turned their gaze towards her entrance.

Ji Tan’s eyes flickered with a hint of covetousness; he preferred this type of young girl, finding her taste different, and even more exciting, than that of Yan Ruyu.

More importantly, she seemed to be in a romantic relationship with Sikong Jing, which he liked even more.

Yan Ruyu also gazed at Sikong Ling, a flicker of confusion briefly crossing her features.

The story of Sikong Jing furiously killing Mo Ci for the sake of Wang Ge had spread widely across the East Plain Northern Lands, yet to this day, the people of the Wangyou Sect refused to divulge the true nature of the relationship between Wang Ge and Sikong Jing.

Based on Yan Ruyu’s knowledge, Sikong Jing couldn’t possibly have a close female confidant other than Su Yuexi!

It didn’t make sense...

Yet, Yan Ruyu subtly felt as if she knew something, as though some memory held the key.

However, she just couldn’t seem to grasp it at the moment.

In any case, they had all been sternly warned never to mention Sikong Jing in front of Wang Ge... or else death.

Similarly, Ji Shengmang was very curious about the relationship between Wang Ge and Sikong Jing.

Sikong Ling ignored the gazes of the others, her eyes slowly sweeping the surroundings before finally settling on Ji Tan and casually asking, ”Are you the Long Night Crown Prince Ji Tan? Is our Wangyou Sect here to help you ascend to the throne?”

Ji Tan hastily withdrew his infatuated gaze, bowed slightly, and replied, ”Indeed, I am Ji Tan, I have seen the Young Sect Master.”

With a slight nod, Sikong Ling then pointed towards Ji Shengmang and asked, ”Then, is this the Long Night Emperor who must die now?”

Upon receiving Ji Tan’s confirmation, Sikong Ling suddenly let out a cold laugh and said, ”Very good, I’m idle anyway, I feel like killing an emperor for fun. I trust there’s no problem with me taking action?”

As these words were uttered, the whole room was shaken, with everyone exchanging bewildered looks.

Ultimately, Ji Tan’s gaze fell on the few Wangyou Sect experts who had caught up. What exactly was this situation?

In the next instant, the Wangyou Sect experts shouted, ”Young Sect Master, stop this foolishness and hurry back... Otherwise, the hidden experts of the Long Night Saint Dragon Palace might appear.”

Their Young Sect Master had arrived at the Long Night Imperial City two days ago.

Whether on the Divine Spaceship or just after arriving, she had obediently stayed in her room; who knew that she would suddenly come out now.

They were scared out of their wits; if she heard the three words ”Sikong Jing,” it would spell big trouble.

As long as they could hold out for another day or two, once Ji Tan successfully ascended to the throne and took control of the entire Long Night Empire, they would be able to kill Sikong Jing, who had just returned. They couldn’t afford any problems at this critical moment.

Besides, Ji Shengmang had information regarding the close relationship between Sikong Jing and Wang Ge; if he too revealed this, he would be doomed.

”Why the panic? After I’ve killed this emperor, I will return to my room,” she said.

After speaking, Sikong Ling looked at Ji Tan again and with a cool breath said, ”I’ll do the killing, any objections?”

Sikong Ling’s reason for killing was hardly sufficient, merely out of a desire for amusement... but for those who practiced the Supreme Forget Love Technique, it seemed there was no fault to pick; such whims were characteristic of them.

Ji Tan furrowed his brow tightly before eventually saying, ”Of course, there’s no problem. Please, Young Sect Master.”

He had no way to refuse such a request. Wang Ge was the future Sect Master of the Wangyou Sect, and her status in the Jianghu was even not lower than his own.
