Berserk God of War

Chapter 712: Chapter 712: The Final Trick

Although Ji Tan realized he was wrong, he still thought of himself as the Long Night Emperor, how could he allow Yan Ruyu to humiliate him like this?

Who could endure being slapped in the face?

However, Yan Ruyu was still unafraid and scoffed continuously, ”Ji Tan, do you still call yourself the Emperor? Your throne is almost lost, and you still want to kill me?”

”Hahaha... I still have one last move, try killing me and see?”

Yan Ruyu dared to slap Ji Tan because she had her own confidence, not merely acting on impulse.

Upon hearing this, Ji Tan was stunned and his complexion kept changing.

He suddenly put on a flattering expression, pleading, ”You scold well, beauty. I am indeed worthless, I should have listened to you earlier. Now, quickly show your final move, I promise to listen to everything you say hereafter.”

He was extremely scared now. The terror of Sikong Jing and the return of Beigong Xianfeng felt like the sky was falling.

Yan Ruyu’s final move was his lifeline.

With a cold smile, Yan Ruyu suddenly said quietly, ”My final move is... Wang Ge.”

”I finally remembered who Wang Ge is to Sikong Jing — his most cherished sister, Sikong Ling.”

This statement left Ji Tan dumbfounded.

Sikong Jing actually had a sister, and with equally terrifying talent, didn’t that mean Wang Ge was also from the Canglong Small Domain?

If so, Yan Ruyu should have known her much earlier, why only think of this now?

However, Ji Tan hadn’t time to ask further; Yan Ruyu continued, ”Now, while the Wangyou Sect is not paying attention, I’ll go find Wang Ge to tell her the truth... then Wang Ge will lose control and spit blood, and we can take her as a hostage, forcing Sikong Jing to kneel and die!”

At this, Ji Tan was tremendously invigorated and fearfully said, ”That way, we’ll completely offend the Wangyou Sect.”

He still needed to rely on the Wangyou Sect which most forces in the East Plain Northern Land dare not provoke.

Killing their Young Sect Master would drive them to desperate measures.

”You can’t even understand this, don’t even dare to? You really are worthless.”

After being scolded by Yan Ruyu again, Ji Tan was so angry he almost wanted to kill again, but still, he could only hold back and seek solutions.

Yan Ruyu, showing a fierce expression, said, ”What’s there to fear about offending anyone at this time? Moreover, later on, we can press Sikong Jing to bring along the Long Night Black Burning Army and completely destroy the Wangyou Sect within the Imperial Palace.”

Ji Tan was greatly energized and nodded quickly, ”Then you go handle it right away... Take Huang Yu and the others with you.”

At this moment, Ji Tan understood completely that as long as they had Wang Ge as a hostage, Sikong Jing must listen to them.

...

At the same time, on the rooftop of a study in the back garden of the Imperial Palace.

Sikong Ling and Ji Shengmang were still watching the distant battle, one standing and one sitting,

At this moment, Sikong Ling asked with a light laugh, ”Long Night Emperor, don’t you think my brother is very powerful?”

Ji Shengmang nodded without hesitation.

Indeed powerful. Now the situation was under Sikong Jing’s control. Once the experts from Wangyou Sect were exhausted, they could drive them back and then completely take down the Long Night White Flame Army.

At that point, he could officially step in and calm this rebellion.

Bang, bang, bang...

Just then, an Old Eunuch suddenly led a group of eunuchs to the front of the study, reporting, ”Your Majesty, Ji Tan’s new Empress suddenly came this way with Huang Yu and other masters, for reasons unknown.”

This Old Eunuch, of course, was not the previous Eunuch Zou but another eunuch of equal rank.

Before, during Ji Tan’s coup, Eunuch Zou had imprisoned other old eunuchs and now found himself compelled to serve Ji Shengmang anew.

He naturally had to relinquish all the power held by the eunuchs in the harem.

During Ji Tan’s ascension ceremony, Ji Shengmang, together with Sikong Ling, took control of the entire Imperial Palace’s rear court.

Now, the guards of the palace’s rear court were this group of eunuchs.

Upon hearing this, a glint flashed in Ji Shengmang’s eyes. He looked down at Sikong Ling and said in a cold voice, ”Young Sect Master, Yan Ruyu is probably targeting you. She’s desperate and probably wants to threaten Sikong Jing by causing you to fail.”

Although Ji Shengmang was not an emperor with great schemes, his strategies were beyond those of ordinary people.

He instantly guessed Yan Ruyu’s motives.

Sikong Ling was still too young, only realizing this after being reminded. She spoke softly, ”What a malicious woman.”

After a moment’s hesitation, Ji Shengmang spoke again, ”Yan Ruyu is more than malicious, she is utterly deranged. I asked old Eunuch Zou during my interrogation, and he said her hatred for your brother is as deep as the sea, and she will not rest until she sees him dead.”

Curious about the origins of Yan Ruyu, Ji Shengmang had also inquired about her during his recent interrogation of Eunuch Zou.

Now, he was clear about the enmity entangling Yan Ruyu and Sikong Jing.

”What’s the grudge between her and my brother?” Sikong Ling couldn’t help but flash a murderous look in her eyes as she asked coldly.

Ji Shengmang didn’t hide anything, and laid out how Yan Ruyu had harmed Sikong Jing in Canglong Small Domain.

Sikong Ling’s originally relaxed face gradually turned ashen.

The chill in her eyes seemed almost capable of freezing everything around her, her teeth clenching with a gritting sound.

Back in the Northern Mountain, she had asked her brother how he had left the Canglong Small Domain.

She had also asked what he had gone through after believing he had died.

At that time, her brother had only superficially mentioned that he was first framed after joining the Great Shang Army, then by chance met his future sister-in-law Su Yuexi, and finally left when the Long Night Black Burning Army came to recruit people.

He didn’t go into details, and only now, with Ji Shengmang’s explanation, did she understand what her brother had been through.

Her brother didn’t want to go into detail, simply because he didn’t want her to be unhappy.

Grit, grit, grit...

The more Sikong Ling thought about it, the angrier she became, and tears began to flow.

Suddenly, she turned and looked toward the Wangyou Sect experts behind her, saying coldly, ”Let’s go back to my room.”

Ji Shengmang, puzzled, asked, ”Young Sect Master, what are you doing...?”

With a chilling smile at the corner of her mouth, Sikong Ling replied, ”Isn’t Yan Ruyu trying to make me fail? Doesn’t she want to use me to threaten my brother? Then I shall fulfill her wish...”

”And then, right at her most triumphant moment, I’ll make her crumble.”

”She thinks she is a high and mighty princess? She believes my brother is just a toy in her hands? Then I shall turn the tables and destroy her. I’ll make her realize, my brother, for her, is unreachable!”

”You don’t need to stop Yan Ruyu now; let her think you’re already dead.”

Having said that, Sikong Ling looked at the Wangyou Sect experts, her eyes coldly seeking agreement.

After a twitch of their lips, they could only nod.

By now, they were completely subjugated by Sikong Ling; they had no thoughts other than to obey the Young Sect Master, especially since the future of Wangyou Sect still depended on her, and the Second Elder was already nearly defeated.

Just like that, Sikong Ling and her followers vanished.

Left standing there, Ji Shengmang shivered severely, thinking to himself that the Sikong siblings were indeed terrifying.

Without further ado, Ji Shengmang quickly descended from the rooftop.

Then, he ordered the eunuchs to disguise themselves as still being under Eunuch Zou’s command, and finally... waited for the drama to unfold.
