From BOSS to Canon Fodder: She is Currently Out of Service!

The three brothers of the Gu Family, except for the idle and irresponsible middle one, Gu Ningzhi, Su Qinwu had interacted with the other two.

Gu Ningyi was her male idol, needless to say. Of course, she thought she probably wouldn’t worship this man on a pedestal anymore, but was determined to conquer him! Make him lose his mind for her, abandon everything! And Gu Ningxuan?

As for this man, she only wanted to use two words to describe him—haha! Just thinking about how he had witnessed the most embarrassing, most unbearable moments of her life, a massive wave of anger surged uncontrollably in Su Qinwu’s heart! Gu Ningxuan, the youngest Marshal of the Alliance, her former husband—Dongshou Yi’s good brother, and the person she loathed most in her midnight dreams, now appeared right in front of her!

Su Qinwu could never forget what happened that day. The sky was filled with the roars of the Insect Race wreaking havoc everywhere. The once peaceful planet instantly turned into a fiery hell, filled with the wails and pleas of the dying, and the whole world darkened in that instant.

She was so terrified that her face turned pale, hugging her son tightly in the storage room with fear, praying that those things wouldn’t find them, mother and son.

Her son’s scared cries made her feel both heartache and irritation. Heartache for the little guy crying his lungs out, breathless, but also irritated at this child’s lack of tact, his ignorance of the surrounding situation! Didn’t he see what time it was, with the Insect Race rampaging everywhere, and this foolish son crying so loudly as if inviting the Insect Race to kill them both? This child was just as annoying as his father!

Every time Su Qinwu dreamed of that scene, her heart would uncontrollably fill with regret and sadness, wanting to apologize to her somewhat timid by nature son.

In her past life in the Dongshou Family, Su Qinwu didn’t fare so well. She genuinely looked down on Dongshou Yi from the bottom of her heart, and the Dongshou Family also subtly distanced themselves from her due to her behavior and the harm she caused Dongshou Yi. Not a single servant truly respected or adored her.

Of course, this was Su Qinwu’s one-sided view. In fact, the Dongshou Family did not try to reject her; however, Su Qinwu’s standards were too high to appreciate them, coupled with Dongshou Yi’s contentment with his tepid, inactive life, she subconsciously wanted to ignore and dismiss him.

Even though Su Qinwu didn’t particularly like this son because of Dongshou Yi’s relation, and felt that the son’s existence was like an eyesore—a burdensome encumbrance that was not wanted and only brought her trouble and nothing else. But no matter how she put it, that child was also a part of her body, their blood connected, and they, mother and son, had relied on each other for years!

But... that child was pushed by her own hands into the mouth of the Insect Race. She could still remember that child’s wet eyes, the painful and wronged expression when being devoured, and those cries of ”Mom, it hurts,” leaving her with endless guilt and regret.

Every time she had nightmares, she’d see a cute little boy with a sculpted face admiringly looking at her, calling her ”Mom” in a sweet, glutinous voice, smiling with two small, round dimples, his eyes bright, pure, and flawless like the purest, most beautiful black jewel in the world. Just being looked at by him would make her feel soft-hearted.

But in the latter part of the dream, this beautiful little angel would always ask her why she pushed him away, why she didn’t want him, why she didn’t save him... Su Qinwu wanted to answer that she didn’t mean to, that her body acted involuntarily...

And then, Su Qinwu would be startled to see this child with his smile gone, approaching her with a sinister and malicious look, blood quickly flowing out from all over his body, bleeding from the seven orifices, eyes filled with resentment and hatred, and behind him was a group of Insect Race trying to approach.

”See, Mom, I am right inside their bellies, I am them, all your sons... come play with us...”

The nightmare always ended with Su Qinwu being pounced on and bitten to death by the Half-Insect Clan who claimed to be her son, waking her up drenched in cold sweat.

Such nightmares, she had had countless times over the years, so many that the fear from the nightmares eroded all her inner guilt and remorse. She even felt that it wasn’t her fault, that the child came solely to collect a debt, born just to hinder her!

The first she hated was that haunting son; she had already begun a new life, so why did he keep torturing her in dreams? The second she hated was Gu Ningxuan! After the disaster broke out, Gu Ningxuan, considering Dongshou Yi’s friendship, came to rescue them, mother and son, and this should have been an act of brotherly loyalty. Yet years later, Su Qinwu hated him!
