From BOSS to Canon Fodder: She is Currently Out of Service!

The further they went, the more cautious they became, even subconsciously slowing their breathing, not daring to breathe loudly.

”Something’s odd... there’s a light up ahead...” Lu Anchen’s scouting abilities spared them many unnecessary troubles. When he said this, the team members were revitalized, feeling extreme tension! Light? In this place, thousands of meters underground?

”Let’s go take a look... maybe, we’ll see our final target.” Su Jiameng narrowed her eyes, revealing a bit of danger. Whether this Thousand Illusion Beast had successfully evolved or not, she wouldn’t let it live!

At this moment, the team members’ thoughts were unprecedentedly unified, yet they didn’t expect they would see such a scene!

Following the light source, when they saw the scene before them, they momentarily thought they had arrived in a fairyland!

”What... are these... they’re so beautiful...” Liang Xiaonuo said in astonishment, covering her mouth to suppress the urge to scream. It wasn’t her fault for being so unsettled, anyone else would show the same reaction.

Actually, if she hadn’t spoken, Cui Hu and the others would have. All around them, as far as the eye could see, were countless peculiar plants, clustered closely together. The main body was azure, and the bud-like things were white, with faint green patterns veined on them.

Su Jiameng leaned in to take a closer look, her pupils constricting instantly! Showing an incredulous expression... how could it be this pattern?

But those blooming things were even more extraordinary, as there were actually several thumb-sized, female-like creatures sitting in them. Were these the flowers’ stamens? They wondered, but dared not reach out to touch, instead directing their puzzled gazes toward Su Jiameng.

But at this moment, she had no time to resolve her companions’ doubts. Standing upright, she gazed into the distance, everything within her sight seemed dreamlike, these plants were lightly enveloped in dream-like iridescent light. Seen from afar, these plants looked more like a pair of uniquely styled wings! She squatted down, took out a monocle, and carefully observed those tiny thumb-sized creatures.

”Ah Hu, you’re not allowed to look at this!” Liang Xiaonuo’s slightly indignant voice suddenly came. As it turned out, Cui Hu had discovered that some of the thumb-sized creatures were unexpectedly naked, without a stitch of clothing, their bodies and appearance closely resembling humans, yet each one was as pretty as a picture.

Even in the Future Interstellar, where ugly creatures were rare, the Jialanluo Clan was renowned for its beauty and overpowering strength, though not everyone was a handsome man or beautiful woman. Still, these peculiar little creatures were astonishingly beautiful!

Of course, when Cui Hu noticed that some of the female thumb-sized creatures weren’t wearing clothes, his cheeks turned slightly red, caught red-handed by Liang Xiaonuo.

”I swear to the heavens, I really didn’t see clearly...” Cui Hu swore solemnly, looking unwaveringly at Liang Xiaonuo, yet her questioning eroded his manly credence, making him feel a bit crestfallen, ”Alright, I might have seen a tiny bit...”

At this moment, Theo added fuel to the fire, saying, ”It’s just that they aren’t wearing any clothes, this place is full of them. If Xiao Nuo doesn’t let him look here, he could still look there by following the line of sight, see... isn’t he just looking?”

Theo’s words were like igniting a barrel of gunpowder, causing Cui Hu to almost run for cover. However, the light-hearted atmosphere didn’t last long and soon fell silent again. They had come to find the Insect Imperial, yet they hadn’t seen even a shadow, and these thumb-sized figures weren’t any kind of clue.

At this point, Su Jiameng had already put on a pair of special gloves, then reached to pluck a thumb-sized creature from within the flower’s core.

A strong scent of blood wafted into their noses. They followed the source of the blood and saw Su Jiameng sternly looking at the thumb-sized creature lying in her palm, its blood flowing freely, a cold murderous intent flashing in her eyes... just as expected...

”Jiameng?” Liang Xiaonuo looked in surprise at the thumb-sized creature in her palm. Previously, when these little guys were growing in the flower’s core, they thought these were human-like plants. After all, in the vast universe, isn’t there every type of bizarre creature and plant?

This plant was just a bit peculiar, grew in an ill-timed place, but now... that blood... was it real?

”Weren’t you curious about where the Insect Imperial was?” Su Jiameng clenched her palm, crushing the thumb-sized figure into pieces, an icy and terrifying murderous intent causing them to shiver. Especially seeing the blood trickling between her fingers, an inexplicable cold sense arose... had something happened that they didn’t know about?

”Jiameng, are you saying... these plants are the Insect Imperial?” Cui Hu’s expression nearly cracked. He had always imagined the Insect Imperial to be some unsightly creature, who would have guessed it would be this bizarre being? Seemingly breathtakingly beautiful, but once awakened, terrifying beyond words?

”No... how could they be the Insect Imperial?” Su Jiameng sneered coldly, opened her hand, revealing no shreds, just a pool of blood and a small piece of Clay Ore, ”However, they do play a tiny role in relation to the Insect Imperial. And that Insect Imperial... it has evolved successfully by now, hasn’t it?”

”What? Successfully?” The four companions spoke in unison, uncontrollable horror on their faces.

”Mm, in one aspect it indeed succeeded, but in another sense, it failed as well.” Su Jiameng directed her gaze toward the densest patch of plants, took out a spacecraft, and said to the others, ”If you want to know the truth, come with me. However... I hope you have strong hearts, for this kind of heretical speculation isn’t one I wish to entertain...”

Seeing the Insect Imperial that reportedly succeeded and yet failed at evolution, the jaws of the four nearly dropped in shock!

Standing before them was an enormous cocoon, towering three to five hundred meters high, covered in densely packed brown and yellow patterns, causing those with trypophobia to erupt in goosebumps.

At this moment, a slit appeared on the perfect cocoon, from which a yellow-brown liquid continuously flowed, nourishing those plants. The closer, the more seductively robust they grew, and the thumb-sized figures in the flower’s core became more exquisite...(to be continued.
