From BOSS to Canon Fodder: She is Currently Out of Service!

Some are born mad, some are born geniuses, and there is only a thin line between madness and genius.

Gu Ningxuan never expected that not only was he a ”genius,” but also a ”madman”! When he heard Marshal Gu’s plan, this was his first thought... It turns out, he had such a crazy gene in his bones!

”Are you sure you want to do this? You need to be clear, the success rate might not be as high as you think, you could die if anything goes wrong...” Gu Ningxuan looked at the other party seriously, trying to use these pale and powerless words to dissuade them.

Ever since he found out this Plane was the same as the one he belonged to, just with some different details, Gu Ningxuan deeply understood that this Marshal Gu was actually another version of himself. The two were indistinct, whether in terms of genetic sequence or physical appearance.

The only difference was that the other was twenty years older than himself. Looking at this Marshal Gu, Gu Ningxuan always had a sense of looking in a mirror, he was himself, and he was also him, with an uncanny synergy between them.

Marshal Gu could easily perceive Gu Ningxuan’s true emotions, and Gu Ningxuan equally knew the secrets hidden deep within the other’s heart. So, to some extent, Gu Ningxuan had already treated the other as another independently existing self.

That’s why, when he heard of such a crazy reckless plan from Marshal Gu, he couldn’t believe it, how could the other party be this way?

”I know very well what will happen to me, but... this experiment, I must participate. If I fail... before you find your way home, please take my place for a while...” Marshal Gu pulled Gu Ningxuan out from an interrogation place and brought him to a very secret underground research lab. The researchers here seemed very busy, hurriedly bustling around.

Seeing one of the Alliance’s top ten marshals arrive, those researchers only nodded in simple salutation and continued their work, even lacking expressions of respect or admiration. In such a serious atmosphere, Gu Ningxuan followed the other to a spacious laboratory. Calling it a laboratory would be inaccurate; it was more like a vast platform.

Here, dozens of researchers in white lab coats were already solemnly prepared, along with forty-one people standing in blue uniforms, seemingly waiting for their superior to inspect them. Seeing this display... Gu Ningxuan’s expression subtly shifted as he guessed the roughly outlined secret.

Sure enough, after Marshal Gu went through those forty-one people one by one, he turned his gaze to Gu Ningxuan, ”These people voluntarily signed up, willing to attempt Telekinesis Awakening. This experiment... though hastily prepared, is now an arrow on the bowstring that must be released!”

Forty-one people, all part of Marshal Gu’s personal guards, considered the elite of his direct troops, each having been on the battlefield and achieved certain results in wars against the Insect Race. Strength, character, will, physical fortitude... These aspects made them standouts in the same tier, and their success rate in the experiments should be relatively high.

Initially, Marshal Gu didn’t intend to include them in this risky experiment, but the threat from the Insect Race was growing, and the Alliance lost countless lives each day to the Insect Race’s jaws, resisting with all might yet unable to see the dawn of victory, facing darkness ahead.

Gu Ningxuan’s memories brought a ray of upgrade to Marshal Gu, like a drowning man clutching at anything, no matter the cost, just longing for a glimpse of vitality! He wasn’t alone in this thought.

When Marshal Gu secretly disclosed the plan to these confidants, each readily chose to participate in the experiment, even competing to join. Originally forty-two people were intended, but there were only forty-one here... The other was Marshal Gu himself!

This was also why Gu Ningxuan tried so hard to dissuade the other! If Gu Ningxuan were not Gu Ningxuan, Marshal Gu might consider the events following failure, but with Gu Ningxuan, he had little to worry about. Even if something happened to himself, he still had a perfect ”stand-in”!

Marshal Gu changed into the same blue uniform as those people, waved his hand, and several researchers cautiously pressed a button.

Soon, a circular platform rose from the ground, and Marshal Gu said, ”I remember you saying that the awakening of telekinesis requires something called Clay Ore. Initially, I thought these things would be hard to find and would take time, but after careful consideration, it was discovered that stones inside certain Insect Races are the Clay Ore we seek... I’ve already sent people to collect them.”
