From BOSS to Canon Fodder: She is Currently Out of Service!

”Since you’ve returned, naturally you’ll first head back to the Military Department to settle the people on the warship,” said Yu Feng coldly. ”You should still be on patrol right now, right? Although it’s because of me that you came over, abandoning your post recklessly makes it easy for others to catch something against you. You should go attend to your own duties first.”

Although Yu Yi didn’t want to do so, when he saw Yu Feng’s face, his expression turned slightly aggrieved, like a good young brother trying hard yet failing to get his older brother’s attention. His already delicate face showing this expression was quite endearing to women, easily garnering sympathy.

Watching Yu Yi leave with his team, Yu Feng ordered his subordinates on the warship to operate the Mecha, escorting this battle-scarred warship to the base camp. He turned around and noticed Su Jiameng’s usual expression, prompting him to ask, ”Don’t you think I’m too cold to that child? After all... to an outsider, I’m just the bad brother ignoring or even bullying an adoring little brother...”

Su Jiameng rolled her eyes and said, ”We’re all adults here, isn’t playing cute a bit childish? I don’t know about your brother’s personality, but having a scheming sibling like that, I’d rather not. If everything Bai Zhicheng said is true and he covets what should rightfully be yours, then it’s only natural for you to detest the other half of blood within him.”

Su Jiameng isn’t a gossip enthusiast. If it were usual, she might meddle and listen to various tangled stories. However, since it concerns Yu Feng’s family affairs now, she recognizes herself as an outsider, too much knowledge isn’t good.

”Actually, in upper-class society, this isn’t even a secret... it’s merely an acknowledged scandal that can’t be openly discussed,” said Yu Feng with a composed expression. ”There are some things I see very clearly, that which is mine cannot be taken by anyone.”

So no matter how much that little brother covets, is it in vain?

Su Jiameng had no doubts about Yu Feng’s capabilities; he had the right to be confident. However, remembering what he had said before, it seemed a big trouble would soon come that could strip him of his military rank... then the situation becomes slightly more complicated, perhaps that brother might still have a chance to counterattack?

”Indirectly, Bai Zhicheng also saved my life, and I owe him that favor...” Yu Feng suddenly remarked.

To the ordinary person, it’s clear Bai Zhicheng intended to murder Yu Feng, yet Yu Feng understood the intricacies and knew the twists and turns involved.

It so happened that Bai Zhicheng and Yu Yi’s heavy Mecha units arrived almost simultaneously...

If Yu Yi’s team had arrived first and Bai Zhicheng was a few minutes late, Yu Yi might have already ordered an attack, dismissing any explanations.

With a sentence like, ”This person impersonates my deceased brother, slandering his posthumous reputation, it makes me furious beyond endurance, so I acted in anger,” he could completely clear himself and even step over Yu Feng’s name to gain the title of ”admiring brother” or ”honoring hero.” If his acting was more mature, he could win the favor of Yu Feng’s former subordinates in no time.

Unfortunately, it was Bai Zhicheng who arrived first; his troops’ cannon fodder had already finished buffering, ready to launch any moment.

If Yu Yi showed any intention to kill Yu Feng, he would be taken down by Bai Zhicheng opportunistically, with a ready-made charge — [attempting to assault an Alliance Admiral, being ungrateful and killing his kin]. This way, even if Yu Yi doesn’t die, the good reputation he built by fawning over Yu Feng could be instantly shattered... Yu Feng saw through these tricks very clearly.

Upon hearing Yu Feng’s explanation, Su Jiameng suddenly realized, smacking her lips, ”Luckily, my environment is quite simple, other than training it’s battling, and later there’s the main task of raising a son... Compared to a life of scheming, I’d rather finish off with the Insect Race. At least those guys have low intelligence, making me feel intellectually superior....”

Yu Feng stumbled slightly, his expression nearly breaking down. It was his first time hearing someone admit to their own lack of intelligence, and with such a proud tone and stance... he was feeling bewildered for sure... But he also longed for a simple life, unfortunately, he didn’t have the conditions for it.

”Actually, this is quite good, the sense of intellectual satisfaction is quite fulfilling.” It’s said that being near those of good influence turns one red, while being near bad influence turns one black; after battling high-intelligence individuals, the satisfaction from victory isn’t something Su Jiameng, who could crush the intelligence of the Insect Race, can understand.

Su Jiameng snorted, showing she hadn’t heard Yu Feng’s previous words, let alone understood the satire within.

Given that Su Jiameng and the others didn’t have legal identity accounts on this plane, they couldn’t appear in public for the time being.

To solve this issue, Yu Feng took out several well-fabricated communication brains from who knows where for them, instructing them to put away their original devices. As for Su Jiameng? She didn’t need one, just copied the information into the original device, and then used telekinesis to hide previous data...

”You guys are now identified as soldiers under my command, pack up your things, change into uniforms, and go down with the unit!” Yu Feng waved grandly, indeed presenting himself as Su Jiameng’s superior.

”Self-centered... with a superior like you, I’ll definitely have a short life...” Su Jiameng muttered softly, then took her clothes and went to another room to change, followed by another female, Liang Xiaonuo.
