From BOSS to Canon Fodder: She is Currently Out of Service!

Su Jiameng stood in the background, watching the two of them sparring with hidden barbs, feeling a wave of weariness in her heart.

Who knows how that unfamiliar Admiral muscled his way up, his body bloated, the fat on his face capable of squeezing out a panful of animal oil, with bags under his eyes and unsteady steps. He didn’t look like a battle-hardened warrior at all... more like someone who has long been indulged in debauchery. When he spoke to Yu Feng, he appeared affectionate but was actually condescending and neglectful.

Yet this kind of person could actually climb to the rank of Admiral? Isn’t it too fantastical? Or perhaps, now that the Insect Race war has reached its end, everyone’s guard has relaxed, including the standards for becoming an Admiral?

Su Jiameng muttered to herself, and Yu Feng also seemed a bit impatient, cutting off the other’s chatter with a few words, ”I’ve been away for over two years, with no one managing military affairs. I can’t even begin to imagine how they’ve piled up. The soldiers and other personnel on the entire warship are in urgent need of placement, which probably requires considerable effort. I’m busy, and you’re also swamped with work. Whatever you have to say, we can discuss it next time.”

Hearing Yu Feng get straight to the point, the chubby man’s face suddenly changed, as if slightly green and somewhat troubled.

Seeing this, Yu Feng had already understood everything, and his heart grew colder. When he first received the mission, he felt something was wrong. Later, when Divine’s Remnant Clan launched a surprise attack, leaving him completely isolated and stranded on that harsh environment planet, he completely understood.

Logically, if an Admiral has been ambushed by the enemy, with their death declared by the enemy, shouldn’t personnel be dispatched at all costs to find him, alive or dead? Yet, the Military Department did not react, instead tacitly accepting the message from Divine’s Remnant Clan... To suggest there’s no foul play here, Yu Feng would write his name backwards! Were these people so surprised and unwilling to see him return?

Suppressing his inner thoughts, he sent the chubby man away and then strode rapidly towards his original station.

Although he had mentally prepared himself, seeing his once familiar place crowded with so many inexplicable people still made him furious. He should have anticipated this... The place where the warship was parked belonged to his army, his territory! Yet it was quickly infiltrated by people from another faction... In the days he wasn’t around, indeed, without the tiger being present, the monkeys claim to be king!

Yu Feng walked all the way, gathering anger, and directly kicked open his former office door. He coldly eyed the female officer clutching a stack of files, and said coldly, ”Out, and take away everything that doesn’t belong here! Don’t make me repeat myself!”

”Yu-Yu—Admiral Yu Feng... Admiral...” The administrative officer was so startled that she froze in place, forgetting how to respond.

”Leave behind all matters related to the Seventh and Ninth Legions...” Yu Feng glanced at the covers of those files and then asked, ”While I was gone, who handled the affairs of the two legions? Was it Captain Xin or someone else?”

”It was... it was Lieutenant Yu Yi...” the person answered tremblingly. Actually, she wasn’t too worried, because Lieutenant Yu Yi was the Admiral’s younger brother; it was only normal for him to lighten his brother’s load.

In this plane, the Aristocratic Family has a significant influence on power transitions within the Military Department. As long as a family doesn’t fall into decline, the leader of a legion typically bears the family’s label, somewhat like an inheritance of the family.

Therefore, in this plane, the power struggles are far more intense than those Su Jiameng had seen in the Alliance Military Department before!

”Lieutenant Yu Yi... huh, a Lieutenant actually dare to manage the Seventh and Ninth Legions, who gave him the authority?” Yu Feng said, sending the person away. He then slapped the desk, which instantly shattered into pieces, ”Bastard!”

Su Jiameng watched the drama unfold with delight but knew not to provoke or tease Yu Feng at this moment, lest she anger him. Although she didn’t know the full details, she could roughly guess the situation.

The Seventh and Ninth Legions were obviously Yu Feng’s forces, and after he left, they were managed by Yu Yi. But don’t forget, Yu Yi was just a Lieutenant, unable to suppress any voices of dissent below him... Then, in Yu Feng’s territory, another so-called Admiral from other forces appeared...

Could she hypothesize that Yu Yi reached some deal with other forces, discarding opposition from the Seventh and Ninth to gain their support, intending to slowly assimilate the two legions? As long as he earned enough military merits, advancing in rank, he would rightfully take over this force? If that’s the case, Yu Feng being so angry is understandable.

”All of you, get out, go do whatever you need to do, I want to calm down.” Yu Feng’s expression fluctuated, finally settling into coldness, ”If you encounter any provocations, feel free to fight back, but you must win. Otherwise, don’t act.”

Su Jiameng and the others were rendered speechless. This was the Military Department after all... and they could... fight? Where was the order? Where were the iron laws?

Not long after, they understood Yu Feng’s reasoning. It wasn’t that discipline was lax here, but rather that after the leader changed, all sorts of demons had infiltrated, resulting in disarray, inconsistency, and chaos...

Holding onto their doubts, they left and followed An Liyang to their dwelling, ”In just these two short years, the changes have been so profound. The entire Seventh and Ninth Legions lost more than half their efficiency... The Admiral must be not only angry but also deeply saddened?”

Su Jiameng expressed her understanding. If it were her, a mighty division of lions disrupted by others, reassigned arbitrarily, crowded out, allowing all sorts of useless noble offspring to infiltrate without discipline, even the strongest lions would become bears...

Yet, what they feared came upon them. On their way to their quarters, a provocative female voice rang out, ”You, yes you, the woman holding a knife, crawl over here for this young miss...” (To be continued.
