From BOSS to Canon Fodder: She is Currently Out of Service!

Alright, Huaifeng suddenly figured out why the other person resented ”Jiang Zhe” so much. It turns out it was because his own older brother shared the same name as the protagonist in the TV drama, and the protagonist’s performance was too lacking, tarnishing the reputation of ”Jiang Zhe”?

Although he was two or three years younger than the other person, that didn’t mean the other person could risk their life to protect him and his brother while they acted as deserters. Besides... fighting and such—shouldn’t that be a job for adults? The four of them were just little sprouts, not even enough to fill the gaps in the teeth of that giant serpent!

If you can’t help others, at least don’t be a burden. Huaifeng’s thoughts were good, but unfortunately, the scene around them was chaotic, with occasional stampede incidents. Of course, there were also many who stood up to fight the giant serpent. Xilena’s talent pool was impressive, even if this was just the Elementary Department where the students’ combat skills were weak, among the parents, there were many skilled people.

Of course, those giant serpents were not ordinary; to describe them as having bodies of steel and iron would be an understatement. Although many of the parents were graduates of Xilena First Affiliated School and were very capable, they came today to accompany their children for entrance exams, not to fight, and hadn’t brought any weapons...

Even though using just fists and feet could hurt these serpents that had been injected with special substances, the serpent skin was too thick—its defense was in the ten thousand range! Before the serpents felt pain, their fists and feet couldn’t withstand it.

However, the parents’ thoughts were aligned: to hold off these unexpected creatures temporarily and move all the children to safety. Because they had common goals, they coordinated surprisingly well; they didn’t kill the serpents but did manage to stop them from continuing to rampage through what should have been an ocean of joy and happiness!

Huaifeng and Huaixi exchanged a glance, each grabbing the arm of a little boy, wanting to drag them to a slightly safer place. They were too close to the giant serpent; if it sneezed, the four kids would be in for a world of hurt.

”What are you doing? I’m a future warrior of the Alliance...” The boy with feminine features was very angry, and because of Huaifeng’s action, he temporarily forgot to fear, but his small face was filled with determination, ”I am my brother’s sibling, I am a strong...”

”You’re ridiculously stupid, you’re not even as smart as Qianhe! What kind of damage do you think your little body can do to that gigantic monster? Even five or six of you stacked together couldn’t match its waist size...” Huaifeng was still slick with words, ”This is not the time to think about showing off, but how to keep yourself alive and not distract the adults who are fighting...”

”Haha... The words of little Huaifeng are very wise. You all stay here and hide well, don’t run around carelessly!” Just as Huaifeng finished speaking, a semi-familiar intellectual female voice came from above. Looking up, it was the school nurse who did health check-ups for the two brothers.

”Aunt Zhu?” Huaifeng watched as she jumped down from the tree branch, her face wearing a calming smile, reminding him of his own mother. If his mom was here now, she would surely agree with his words, right? Huaifeng asked, ”What are those monsters...?”

”They’re invaders...” Zhu Mengtong gazed coldly at the constricted giant serpents, a trace of worry flashing in her eyes.

This scene reminded her of a similar attack that occurred years ago at Xilena First Affiliated School. However, that was in the Advanced Department, where students could still put up some resistance—many were injured, but none died. And here... it was a group of almost unarmed children, who unleashed these rampaging serpents, with such wicked intent!

”Are they bad guys?” Huaifeng might be brave, but bravery doesn’t mean he could instantly grasp the fragility of life. Those serpents had waists three to four meters thick and lengths of four or five dozen meters, and any movement could take away many lively lives.

”You could say that...” Zhu Mengtong sighed internally. A few years ago, she might have still been able to fight, but now, with time passing, her body grew weaker, and her mental state was in gradual decline.

However... even though her strength was not what it used to be, watching these creatures harm the children here was not something she could tolerate. Growing up in the Alliance and receiving complete formal education, the beliefs in her mind had become steadfast. Protecting the Alliance was the foundation of her beliefs. And these children were the future of the Alliance, how could she not protect them?
