From BOSS to Canon Fodder: She is Currently Out of Service!

”I’m really impressed with you. Let’s just queue here... Stand up straight; all limp like that—it’s unbecoming!” Huaifeng kept provoking his older brother’s temper, and Huaixi could only endure it with good grace, time and again! And then, the vicious cycle continued.

After waiting for half an hour, it was finally their turn. Huaixi handed in both of their documents and was about to call out ”Auntie” to establish some rapport when he realized that the physician conducting the checkup was none other than Zhu Mengtong, who had previously assisted the brothers.

Although Zhu Mengtong was the school doctor for the Xilena First Affiliated School, she generally only cared for students in the Advanced Department. Every new school year, there were never enough physicians for the freshmen medical examinations, so she was unfortunately roped in as extra help this year.

Adjusting her slightly slipping glasses, Zhu Mengtong took the documents handed over by the students and found the names somewhat familiar!

Su Huaixi? Su Huaifeng? Could they be the little ones from Su Jiameng’s family? She vaguely remembered their names from when she had taken the kids to the hospital for an emergency and glanced briefly at the patients’ sign-in names. Moving the documents that were blocking her view, she indeed saw the pair of similar-looking brothers standing side by side, their beautiful, liquid obsidian eyes watching her...

”So, it’s you guys. Are you here for the entrance exams this year too?” Zhu Mengtong’s face, stiff from working all day, softened slightly. Perhaps because various reasons had prevented her from having children, she was very fond of cute kids.

”Yeah, we’ll soon be new students here. Is Auntie also a teacher at this school?” Huaifeng’s sweet talking was impeccable, easily charming anyone from little five-year-old girls to elderly ladies of five hundred. Though Huaixi felt a twinge of jealousy, he had to admit that in this era where being cute earns you rewards and words of sweetness win hearts, a little charm goes a long way.

”Auntie isn’t a teacher; I’m the school doctor.” Zhu Mengtong pointed to the white coat she was wearing, a gentle smile on her face. Many children naturally fear women in this attire because in their tender little hearts, these ladies always bring them unbearably bitter medicine and sharp needles...

”School doctor? Auntie’s a doctor? That’s so cool...” The little guy raised his voice in surprise and then, a bit embarrassed, scratched the back of his head and said, ”But Mom always says Xiao Feng’s too restless and won’t be able to handle such a serious profession in the future.”

Seeing him scratching his head with a bashful expression, Zhu Mengtong couldn’t help but reach out and ruffle Huaifeng’s hair. Its texture was soft and silky, feeling exquisite to the touch, like the finest silk.

”That’s not necessarily true. As long as you have this passion and love, along with diligence and eagerness to learn, you can definitely become a doctor.” Zhu Mengtong tilted her head, a playful strand of hair falling beside her ear, ”And let me secretly tell you a little secret. Auntie wasn’t originally trained in medicine but switched to this career later on... If we’re talking about lively personalities, Auntie used to be even more rowdy than you...”

Huaifeng widened his eyes slightly, seeming unable to believe this, while Huaixi softly coughed at the side. Zhu Mengtong adjusted her glasses again, got up from her seat, and led the two youngsters to a small inspection pod. ”Who’s coming in first?”

Huaifeng glanced at his older brother, and seeing that he wasn’t moving, could only muster a look of heroic sacrifice and bravely stepped forward.

”Very brave! Alright, Huaifeng, you first.” Zhu Mengtong efficiently placed the documents in a folder, then signaled the little guy to take off all his clothes, leaving only a modest little undergarment, before climbing into the inspection pod...

Take... off... clothes? Huaifeng blushed bright red, casting a pleading look at his older brother, only for the latter to decisively turn away, avoiding the glimmering gaze of his brother. The young boy trembled slightly, striking a rare bashful pose.

It was his first time undressing in front of an unfamiliar woman. Couldn’t Aunt Zhu avert her gaze just a bit? He was feeling shy! Okay, even though it was all business for her, the little guy’s fragile little heart still found it a bit overwhelming.

The inspection pod looked quite similar to a recovery pod, just much smaller in size, seemingly designed specifically for small children. Because of this familiarity, Huaifeng’s rapidly pounding heart gradually calmed down upon entering the inspection pod.

”Ready?” Zhu Mengtong pressed a red button on the inspection pod, and a virtual control panel rose up from the floor. Huaifeng signaled an ”OK” gesture, and with that assurance, she began her work, her slender fingers tapping away at the virtual interface.

After five or six minutes, a small personal database specifically for Huaifeng was generated. Looking at the final test results, even though she had mentally prepared herself, Zhu Mengtong’s eyes flickered with surprise. His spiritual power was initially rated at S, close to 2S, and his physical ability was only A due to age and body limitations, yet the potential was extraordinarily strong, with cells in his body being vibrant and vigorous!

With these two outstanding foundational data points, even if the subsequent assessments went terribly, this child could still pass the entrance smoothly. At this point, she somewhat understood why these two little ones, only five years old, were allowed to enroll three years ahead of schedule.

”All done with the inspection. Huaixi, get ready now.” Huaifeng’s foundational data was excellent across the board, even having an above-average IQ. If such a child grows smoothly, he might become a leader of his generation.

The data for twins are generally quite similar. As Huaifeng’s older brother, Huaixi’s situation was naturally similar, with the added advantage of having an IQ slightly higher than his sibling’s. She signed her name on the documentation, then sent the two little ones off with their authenticated documents to their next examination, also giving a little spoiler, ”Don’t be nervous, just answer with the simplest thoughts in your mind.”

The two little ones set off again and smoothly cleared hurdle after hurdle, being among the first batch to confirm their admission!

”Uncle Changxi, Aunt Su Mo, we’re over here...” The two little ones called out to the pair who’d been waiting outside for quite a while. (To be continued.
