From BOSS to Canon Fodder: She is Currently Out of Service!

After reuniting after many years, Gu Ningzhi and Li You got into another fight, just like last time, without using Mecha or weapons, just hand-to-hand. The result of the fight ended with Gu Ningzhi’s defeat... although he insisted that his loss was because the other guy had taken medicine.

”Gu Ningzhi... you lost...” Li You’s appearance was terrible, but no matter how bad, it was still better than Gu Ningzhi’s mischievous look.

”Yeah, I lost.” Gu Ningzhi secretly rolled his eyes. He couldn’t understand how much grudge Li You still held against him staying in the Expedition Army! Couldn’t he see that Gu Ningzhi was trying to leave? But thinking back, it made sense. He was the one who promised to start a new era in the Military Department with Li You and then chickened out and left alone, so Li You holding a grudge for over thirty years was reasonable.

”Will you... stay in the Expedition Army?” Li You struggled to raise his hand to prop himself up, pain and heat flaring through his chest... Hiss, indeed worthy of being Admiral Gu’s son, never holding back in a fight... More time needed to recover now.

Gu Ningzhi twitched his lips and rolled his eyes, ”What do you think? I’ve already lost, a real man sticks to his word.”

Hearing this promise, Li You finally breathed a sigh of relief. To be honest, he had used some underhanded tactics to win this time. Gu Ningzhi had always been strong, even though this guy had been wasting his strength and slacking off for years... still very strong.

”Alright then, let’s clean up and go back,” Li You grimaced and tried to stand up. He could guarantee that he had definitely fractured three ribs! Gu Ningzhi, treating his superior so harshly, wasn’t he afraid of repercussions?

Gu Ningzhi hissed and pretended to get up as well. But at this moment, their coordination was lacking, and they accidentally bumped into each other while getting up, poking their wounds, causing them to fall back... and then... nothing happened afterward.

Gu Ningzhi, with two palm marks on his face, miserably dragged his body, injured both physically and mentally, trying to return to his room to apply medicine.

”Heh, you look quite miserable, don’t you?” Gong Yulu, having changed out of her previous attire and dressed like an ordinary female soldier, surprisingly suited the outfit, Gu Ningzhi noticed, ”Need my help?”

”You know how to apply medicine?” Gu Ningzhi’s injuries weren’t just superficial; a few bones were fractured, and he was quite heavily injured.

Gong Yulu suddenly grinned mischievously and said, ”Of course, even if you lost half of your body now, I have ways to keep you alive, let alone these minor injuries... So, how about inviting me to your room for a look?”

With an unnatural expression, Gu Ningzhi eventually opened the door to let her in. He had no idea what Gong Yulu used to do, but the Space Hub she carried was filled with various medicines and instruments, many of which he had never heard of.

After about ten minutes, the previously bedridden unfortunate Gu Ningzhi had already recovered and was full of life... He looked in the mirror, pointing at the red marks on his cheeks, ”Why didn’t you remove these too? They really detract from my good looks.”

Gong Yulu, not at all feeling like an outsider, sat leisurely on a small sofa with an amused expression, ”I noticed before that you were never serious. Rarely receiving a couple of slaps from some girl, why not keep them as a memento.”

Gu Ningzhi was almost unable to laugh, Li You Lieutenant General... no, Little Squid as he was called, didn’t look even slightly feminine, hardly a ”little girl,” right? But then again, those two slaps he gave were really harsh, almost causing swelling.

”Don’t be silly, if I don’t deal with this, how can I face anyone?” Gu Ningzhi expressed that he still cared about his dignity.

”Then just tell me who gave you these two slaps?” A hint of mischief flashed in Gong Yulu’s eyes. Interstellar navigation days were exceedingly dull and boring, so Gu Ningzhi obviously made for good entertainment.

Gu Ningzhi kept his lips sealed, and Gong Yulu continued, ”Not answering this? Then tell me, how did your lips get busted?”

Gu Ningzhi twitched his lips; this question was even less possible to answer, right? Although it was just an accident, if word got out, wouldn’t Li You’s reputation be ruined? Despite being somewhat unreliable, Gu Ningzhi did have his principles.

”Not willing to answer?” Gong Yulu wasn’t planning to force out any truth. After all, this place belonged to Li You, and teasing Gu Ningzhi too much might not end well for her, ”Then let’s leave it at that. Here’s some medicine to apply to your face; it will reduce the swelling quickly.”
