From BOSS to Canon Fodder: She is Currently Out of Service!

Chapter 82: Chapter 6: [Retrial Arc] The Legendary NPC (Part 3)

The opening of the new expansion pack means players will have to complete a long string of precondition missions, and if they fail, the entire game process might spiral out of control...

The change in color on the Star War official website’s background quickly spread among a group of players, creating a huge stir!

You should know, in previous expansions, the official site would only change its theme’s color at the exact moment when players completed the tasks, and now, with only three percent of the tasks completed, they’re celebrating the new expansion pack’s release so eagerly... Isn’t that a bit too hasty?

Ahem, of course, the above is just the banter from a group who are not fond of the aloof officials. More people are concerned about what changes and fresh vitality this new expansion pack will bring to the game, and what its specific content is!

Without needing to say, based on the live argumentative videos on the forum, it can be temporarily confirmed that NPC [Su Jiameng] is the main figure in this new expansion pack, or at the very least a significant character! And linking that to the name of this new expansion pack... King’s Return...

Many players who had been wronged by Su Jiameng shivered; though the game defies the natural order, as the only unique NPC, Su Jiameng should have long been buried in that fierce siege battle, right? Could it be that in the new expansion, she’s alive again?

Furthermore, the name of the new expansion is King’s Return! Throughout the entirety of Star War, there are countless outstanding NPCs, but none are more vivid than Su Jiameng... Could it be that the ’king’ mentioned by the officials alludes to this woman?

As more tasks and game processes were added, Su Jiameng’s life story has been pieced together by players like a jigsaw puzzle, and many players believe that the initial betrayal might have a hidden reason... or even a great conspiracy!

After all, more than one High Rank NPC has mentioned in quests that they have great trust in their former comrades or commanders, thinking that the Alliance’s ruling back then was overly abrupt, giving no time for reaction, and Su Jiameng never defended herself, nor did they have the power to help this poor girl.

Not long after Su Jiameng’s siege and death, several investigative players began collecting information about various famous NPCs, feeling increasingly disturbed, concluding that Su Jiameng’s character design is quite intriguing, and the officials might have a backup plan, potentially involving her in a major case...

This sparked a lot of player debates back then but eventually fizzled out without further development.

Now, the prediction has come true, and Su Jiameng is indeed related to the new expansion pack, and previous debate threads have been dug up by those looking for trouble.

Looking back at this post years later, everyone thinks the forum poster had a point, even beginning to speculate on the precondition missions and content of the new expansion pack based on it... As if this would allow insight into the cheeky mind behind the official’s aloof facade.

The discussions on the forum continued without end until a player shouted, ”Stop it, look at the official website!”

Thus, the group temporarily paused their flights of fantasy and flocked to the official site. The current official site was no longer as it once looked, with the page theme being a somber red-black color, set against a background of ruins and debris, raging flames, and scattered Insect Race bodies.

In the distance of the illustration, a person cloaked in black, walking against the wind, leaves a trail of bloodstained footprints. Since the figure’s back is to the viewer, people can only infer from her silhouette that she’s a woman. As for the identity of this person, it’s also fairly easy to guess.

It seems the wind is strong, as her right hand is raised to grasp her left shoulder against the wind, revealing fingers wrapped in bandages of varying colors, and the cloak, being somewhat torn, also shows similar bandages on the feet beneath.

What truly confirms her identity is the blunted sword embedded in the ground in the forefront of the scene, with the words [Yongping] engraved on the hilt.

Apart from this, two clumps of flames of different colors blaze on the left and right at the bottom of the page, between them are two crossed Laser Particle Swords.

Although the new expansion pack has been sparing with juicy content, players have still deduced quite a bit. For example, many players speculate that once the precondition missions are completed and the new expansion begins, the military might tear through the facade of peace, starting to divide into factions.

Su Jiameng was cannon fodder in the conflict between the two military factions, wronged for decades, and ultimately hunted down by the joint Alliance Military. And the expansion pack’s name being King’s Return is likely related to her exonerating herself and overturning her wrongful conviction.

However, players who are familiar with Star War know that, although Su Jiameng was the cannon fodder in the conflict between the two military factions, she was also the last masking veil of their facade of peace. If she overturns her case and has her charges removed, it also signals that the two military factions will completely tear apart their masks!
