From BOSS to Canon Fodder: She is Currently Out of Service!

Chapter 60: Chapter 36: Scandal Turmoil (Part 1)

It’s still midnight on Xilena Planet, but it’s afternoon on Qiming Star. Looking at his little uncle’s bizarre message, he calmly replied, ”Little Uncle, what happened over there? Also... what does this message mean?”

”It means your team member should kill that bastard Zhang Yiqi during the challenge day, make him wish he were dead rather than alive, or alive rather than dead. That guy is asking for a beating, best is to punch him in the face! Let him be smug! Let him bully people! Let him team up with his fiancée to bully people!” Qin Chou sent a long string of messages to his nephew again, ”In short, let the team member stab Zhang Yiqi!”

Qin Mo scratched his head, feeling a bit helpless about this uncle who’s barely older than him. At home, he was always a bit of a rebel, his grades forever mediocre. But he unexpectedly got into Xilena Academy against all odds.

He thought the uncle had changed for the better, but didn’t expect him to remain unconventional. Xiao Meng indeed has strong skills, but to beat Zhang Yiqi, who has been in the Expedition Army and earned an honor medal, seems quite challenging, not to mention making him wish he were dead rather than alive. ”Xiao Meng did say she was confident of winning, but battles can be unpredictable...”

”I’ll set up a betting pool then! Put all my assets on your team member’s victory!” Qin Chou steeled himself, and said, ”Mo Kid, if she loses, your uncle will be so poor, I’ll have no choice but to drink northwest wind QAQ? Can you bear to see your uncle live so miserably? I’ll tattletale to my brother, your good days will be over...”

Qin Mo’s hand paused, sighing inwardly. It seems his little uncle was really fired up and stimulated a lot, or else he wouldn’t resort to such crude threats. Judging by his uncle’s delicate position in the family, with grandpa treating him as a late son, dad straightforwardly raising his younger brother as a son, the little uncle was like the family’s prized jewel, it’s best not to get into trouble with him.

”Okay, I’ll ask Xiao Meng again to see how confident she is,” Qin Mo shamefully succumbed, making Qin Chou feel relieved.

After a hit, naturally follows a sweet fruit, Qin Chou happily sent him a benefit, ”If you get this done, I’ll give you a big red envelope during the New Year!”

Qin Mo black-lined again, missing the point of the problem, it’s not about the red envelope, okay? Zhang Yiqi is his idol, yet his uncle wants him to incite Su Jiameng to beat Zhang Yiqi badly... Isn’t this a difficult situation? However, no matter how difficult, he must do it, or the family’s few parents wouldn’t let him off.

Shutting off the communication, K3 turned with a frown towards Su Jiameng, who was ”exchanging feelings” with Xu Lei. ”Xiao Meng, if you face Zhang Yiqi, do not hold back! Go for it, I believe you will emerge victorious!”

Su Jiameng looked at him, puzzled, Xu Na, who was exchanging makeup tips with Lucy, heard K3’s words and said speechlessly, ”Xiao Meng totally doesn’t know what holding back means, does she? You’re completely adding fuel to the fire...”

”I can’t hold back,” Su Jiameng nodded, her eyes shining brightly, ”Boss Qin suddenly brought this up?”

”Family has a senior who fell out with Zhang Yiqi,” K3 said concisely, ”That senior is so committed, he even said he’ll bet all his assets on you. Though betting is wrong, you can’t watch this guy’s pockets go empty and starve, right... So, Xiao Meng, you must win!”

Su Jiameng thought for a moment, then extended her hand to K3, leaving him bewildered. She continued, ”Winning is certain, let me know when the betting pool opens, I also want to bet on myself... A foolproof deal, everyone’s happy.”

K3 and the others collectively black-lined, Xu Lei coughed lightly and said in a low voice, ”Xiao Meng, usually participants in a match aren’t allowed to bet on themselves. But if you really want to, you can have someone else do it on your behalf...”

Su Jiameng was taken aback, muttering, ”I didn’t know there were so many troublesome things... I was completely unaware before...”

She once went undercover in the largest Star Thief group across the universe, and participated in some similar black-market solo duels, always betting on herself every time. At first when she went there, she was always treated as a newbie, with odds sky-high, allowing her to make a fortune.

”It’s not too late to know now,” Xu Na smacked her shoulder, laughing, ”To support Xiao Meng, I’ll definitely bet heavily on you! For our wallets, Xiao Meng must put in her utmost effort!”

Su Jiameng secretly rolled her eyes, aren’t these guys treating Zhang Yiqi as an idol? Why are they now one by one urging her to overturn him? However, for her Credit Points, she won’t hold back against him.

The daily one or two team battles continue, and K3 and the others gradually adapt to this rhythm. The team battles are not as difficult as before. As for Su Jiameng, naturally, she continues with her life, step by step following along.

Every day at a fixed time, she participates in the team battles, challenges players every two days, edits and posts videos, all while being in full sarcastic mode. Of course, those who bully others will eventually get bullied. Under the relentless supervision of the merciless teaching system, she feels as though she’s back in those youthful days full of blood and tears 〒▽〒. Every day, it’s training to the point of exhaustion. If it weren’t for the existence of the Health Care Pod, her old bones couldn’t have held on.

”(.－_－.) Phew—I’m exhausted—” Su Jiameng sprawled out on the ground, her chest heaving, sweat dripping from her face, making her training clothes, already soaked, even more disheveled and wet.

Soon enough, a large towel fell from above and covered her face, almost suffocating her. Snatching the towel away, she saw a bottle of opened special oral Nutrient Liquid. She didn’t even need to look to know who it was. Grabbing the bottle, she sat up and downed it. After a while, feeling strength return to her swollen limbs, she sighed in relief, ”Revived—”

”Those kids below aren’t as desperate as you.” At this time, Liu Shiyi was also in his training clothes, covered in sweat but far less disheveled than Su Jiameng. ”I’ve observed you for many days and have some feelings. Have I been too lenient with those kids?”

Su Jiameng finished the Nutrient Liquid in one go and burped unceremoniously, catching her breath before asking, ”Feelings? What kind of feelings?”

”You’re very desperate; in comparison, the subordinates in the Mecha unit are too lazy.” Liu Shiyi answered honestly, this was indeed his true thought. Previously teased by Su Jiameng, he left, but the next day he still arrived at room thirty-nine at the fixed time, only to find someone diligently and happily training. ”Those guys complaining all day about onerous training should come and see you...Hmm, I think by then they might consider me lenient.”

Liu Shiyi’s reputation within the Mecha unit isn’t very good, not because he lacks prestige, but because he’s too strict during training, which many can’t take. Seeing Su Jiameng, he felt he was too gentle (*^__^*).

Su Jiameng rolled her eyes listlessly and complained, ”Your daily routine of watching me get abused and not helping is already quite inhumane. Now you want to bring your subordinates to watch en masse...I’ll get shy too.”

Liu Shiyi: ”...” Liu Shiyi had many things to do every day and only came solo to warm up at this time. Seeing Su Jiameng he passed her a bottle of Nutrient Liquid. Initially, both were quiet, eventually exchanging a word or two.

Given that she would ultimately exhaust herself, Liu Shiyi basically treated her like a sack and carried her back. Having learned from the first time, he’d leave after bringing her to the Mecha unit’s training grounds, starting his daily work...

Liu Shiyi was silent for a moment before saying, ”Shy? It’s really hard to tell...”

In fact, Liu Shiyi wanted to question whether this supposed common girl named Su Jiameng was internally a scrappy male. Looking at her training regimen, any one move could smash her face, yet she doesn’t even blink. In actual combat, she’d have been disfigured and died multiple times... In his view, it’s rare to find someone so indifferent to her looks and body.

”That must be a problem with your eyesight...” Su Jiameng just finished this sentence when the life-threatening teaching system appeared again. Shaking her head to clear it, she said, ”Alright, break’s over, back to training...if you really want to bring people to watch, don’t forget to give me a heads-up, so I can mentally prepare myself...”

With a joke, she continued her pursuit of self-destruction. Watching her determination for self-abuse, Liu Shiyi felt a twinge of frustration, as a grand man not matching up to a woman felt somewhat of a failure.

Before he could finish his thoughts, the AI beeped and he opened a virtual video. On the screen was a refined-featured woman, shoulder-length black hair pinned back, wearing rimless silver glasses, a green shirt, and an oversized white coat. Her outfit made her look like a doctor...

Liu Shiyi’s usually cold face softened considerably, even with a warm smile. ”Meng, is work not busy at this time?”

”Work’s manageable, not many patients. But that’s not important, I heard if I don’t contact you soon, you might find yourself homeless when you return.” The woman adjusted her glasses, her tone as flat as water.

”Eh? Why say that?” Liu Shiyi felt wronged; he’d been behaving well recently. No excessive training, no injuries, no secret drinking sessions landing him in the hospital, nothing else...
