From BOSS to Canon Fodder: She is Currently Out of Service!

Chapter 51: Chapter 31: Labor Punishment (ノへ￣、)

When she was in school, she liked to form cliques and bully An Xiangjiao, and it’s even more so here. She enjoys the feeling of looking down on others from a high place and gathering some like-minded people to form small groups. She can be considered a moderate leader. As long as bullying doesn’t escalate to the authorities, no one will care about it.

”There’s a distinguished guest here, I hope you can watch your words and actions, don’t let people misunderstand that a soldier’s quality is like your conduct.” An Xiangjiao expressed a bit of dissatisfaction. Such matters can be resolved privately, but making a scene in front of ordinary people is extremely disgraceful.

”Distinguished guest? What kind of distinguished guest is she?” Private Wan pointed a finger at Su Jiameng with disdain, ”Someone from the lowest poor planet, how does that qualify as a distinguished guest? At least I don’t see what’s distinguished about her. Should we have her kneel and see if that changes?”

Su Jiameng initially intended to stay out of it, planning to leave once the commotion was over, but she didn’t expect the fire to be directed at her.

When did she, Su Jiameng, become someone easy to provoke? Thinking of this, she shifted her gaze to Private Wan, fixing on the area between her neck and belly for a few seconds, then suddenly smiled.

”Actually, if there’s something fishy, it seems Private Wan here has more of a reason to be suspected. But... everyone has their preference, and having more meat doesn’t necessarily give you an advantage. Haven’t you heard the saying? If the body isn’t enough, brains can compensate. But if the brain isn’t enough... well, that’s incurable.”

Pointing to her own head, Su Jiameng abruptly restrained her smile, her gaze becoming indifferent, ”I believe your current words and actions are enough to be reported to your superior, earning you a not-too-severe punishment. Hopefully by then, your body can save you once.”

”You, this...” Private Wan was about to curse but abruptly stopped, angered, ”By your words, you seem quite familiar with the rules here? Then do you know the crime for a commoner to slander an Alliance officer without reason?”

”I think... before I am judged for any crime, you should first face your own superior’s fury...” Su Jiameng was not concerned about such accusations. If this situation really blew up, given that an Alliance officer conducts themselves like this, whoever ends up in trouble is uncertain, ”As an officer, your job is to improve your power, not to complain like a shrew here, and certainly not to be jealous of others’ strength. Being surpassed only means your power is lacking, not that others have used inappropriate means.”

”These matters are none of your concern, commoner.” Private Wan retorted, yet the criticism left her face burning with humiliation, surrounded by the hidden scrutiny and mockery of those nearby, ”If you dare say one more inappropriate word...”

Su Jiameng couldn’t care less about the other party, and continued with a smile, ”Moreover, what do you take the Alliance army for? Your own conglomerate or company? Do you think female subordinates have to use inappropriate means to climb up? If someone achieves a high position, does that mean they engaged in inappropriate deals? If that’s all your quality and measure amounts to, I must say, you have decreased the intelligence of the entire Alliance army. What a grave sin, lowering the overall intelligence by several percentage points by yourself...”

According to this woman’s logic, how many times would she have to sell out to climb to the position of a Lieutenant General in her previous life?

Seeing the other’s pig-liver colored face, she continued, ”Actually, seeing your performance, I’m starting to believe there might be something shady. Why would the Alliance allow someone with as little quality and temperament as you in? And you even reached a rank of Private... One final warning, before causing trouble for someone, take a look at the surroundings, a superior might be right behind you watching...”

Private Wan’s expression changed. She turned her head, and indeed saw a man still wearing his uniform, his face as cold as frost.

This was someone Su Jiameng was not unfamiliar with, the crew-cut who brought her through the Vacuum Road before. Judging by his epaulette, if it corresponds to her previous life’s categorization, this man should be a very young Captain...

In this life, she was indeed fortunate, being a commoner yet sitting in a Captain’s Mecha.

Everyone stood at attention, except for Su Jiameng. First, she wasn’t his subordinate, and second, she had once been a Lieutenant General, with a rank higher than this man... The other party stepped forward, glanced at Private Wan, who wore a nervous expression, and epitomized a stoic demeanor.

Just as everyone thought this Captain was going to punish Private Wan, he instead turned his gaze to Su Jiameng, ”Although there were many wrong actions from Private Wan, Miss Su’s aggressive stance isn’t entirely faultless either. To be fair, Sergeant An, Private Wan, and Miss Su... please clean up Training Room Thirty-Nine before Cosmic Time midnight!”
