Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Russell was indeed promoted within the three-month period Hill estimated... He only lasted a month before quietly becoming an official Mage in his own Meditation Chamber.

Hill was actually a bit surprised.

How should I put it... This child’s spiritual power is really pure, completely different from everyone else in this world, even a little incompatible.

It’s only because of this world’s special environment that he appears to lack talent... That’s because his spiritual power innately repels those filthy things.

Only with a teacher like Hill could he achieve such unnoticed promotion; anyone else would have had bad luck... Unless Gilbert was still around at that time, but according to Hill’s observations of Gilbert, he really couldn’t hold on anymore.

Tsk, Hill silently gave himself a like... Coming late doesn’t matter, as long as I’m not late.

Russell has ample room to grow, which for this world means a kind of redemption.

Of course, Hill knows that eventually, this world will fall under the control of Styx, and it’s highly likely to be handed over to that Red Dragon’s younger daughter to manage. Otherwise, how could an Ancient Red Dragon with the demeanor of the Chromatic Dragon Queen work diligently and tirelessly like this... He has led those people at Sia Tower around for half a year!

Mind you, that’s Fengo... In Hell, he’s invincible, and Devils, large and small, run away in terror, daring to mock and torment even Glaysia thanks to Asmodier’s favor.

During this time, Hill truly felt how absurdly hard this Red Dragon worked: Fengo is no fool; he could still be confused at first, but after three months, he deduced that the Dragon absolutely couldn’t be an Iron Dragon.

How should I put it... The mineral resources of this world are absolutely impossible for an Iron Dragon to endure for so long: any Iron Dragon with normal nerves, after tasting those iron flavors, would leave while retching without looking back, how could it still be entangled with Fengo who must have recognized it by now?

However, Fengo actually deduced that it was a Black Dragon masquerading as an Iron Dragon... even though Iron Dragons indeed look somewhat like light-colored Black Dragons. This message sent back to the Tower of Dark Enigma still made Hill open the full shielding system, secretly laughing for a long time.

Ah~ Fengo, you’re the one slapping your own face!

Hill has seen a lot of hell-related material on Toril... Fengo is known as a clever Great Devil who absolutely won’t fall for the same trick twice by the same entity and is a highly trusted aide to Asmodier~

Could it be that Giant Dragons are beyond the elements and need to be counted separately?

This matter will definitely become explosive news across Hell, Abyss, and major worlds!

Hehe~ It’s the kind that will be brought up for discussion anytime, anywhere, especially among the Demon Lords of the Bottomless Abyss.

Exactly because they might fight side by side with the Devils on the Heavenly Mountain, they would ask the Devils about the differences between Red Dragons, Black Dragons, and Iron Dragons while fighting.

Even the Chromatic Dragon Queen might temporarily spare the father and daughter because of such a brilliant performance by the Red Dragon... After all, the Giant Dragon who ends up in the hands of Styx has nothing to do with her.

No matter what prophecy that daughter received, it’s impossible for the Nine-Faced Dragon God to elevate her to suppress Tiamat... Perhaps it’s because Tiamat played herself into the position of First Lord of Hell, the Nine-Faced Dragon God is very upset.

His dissatisfaction isn’t because Tiamat chose to follow Asmodier; after all, he knows his own girl quite well, and her words are less trustworthy than flatulence.

He finds that Tiamat fundamentally doesn’t understand whom she can offend and whom she cannot.

Even if Asmodier spares Tiamat some manipulative antics for the sake of the Nine-Faced Dragon God, doesn’t that mean the old man owes a favor?

His grudge with AO isn’t settled yet! Where would he find the time to care about Hell’s petty affairs?

So, Heavenly Mountain really didn’t lose unjustly.

The domain of Toril Gods, Asmodier, and the Demon Lords of the Bottomless Abyss actually didn’t touch... So, AO, who he had some dealings with in the past, is clearly pretending not to know about this matter.

Why don’t the Dragon Gods, who typically enjoy joining the bustle, have any reaction?

Even the ones who like to watch nearby haven’t shown up, especially the Platinum Dragon King.

This only proves that the Nine-Faced Dragon God is very willing to repay the little favor Tiamat owed him through the sacrificial offering of Heavenly Mountain.

Unless the Nine-Faced Dragon God doesn’t want this daughter anymore... From Tiamat’s behavior, it’s clear she has threatened him, otherwise, why would she guard against this unexpected daughter?

Moreover, the threat must be known to even the Platinum Dragon King Bahamut: it doesn’t mean Tiamat’s child with anyone exhibits such a threat; it must be a Dragon Lady altered by the influence of Metal Dragons.

Hill can even guess what the Nine-Faced Dragon God would roar... To leave such a deep mark on Tiamat, who cares about nothing, it must be the protagonist show of the Platinum Dragon King Bahamut.

Logically speaking, considering Tiamat’s temperament, even the threat level of the Red Dragon and his daughter has decreased significantly, she wouldn’t easily let them go.

Clearing the roots is something this Evil Dragon still understands well... But Hill still dares to judge that for the sake of this fun, the Chromatic Dragon Queen might temporarily give up chasing after the father and daughter, mainly because Tiamat greatly dislikes Fengo.

Back then, Asmodier was so determined to kick Tiamat out of the First Prison Lord position, largely due to Fengo’s strong persuasion... especially after discovering that the one who eventually took the position as the new Lord Bayer, due to betraying the former Grand Duke, was disliked by many Great Devils and had a very good relationship with Fengo.

There were several instances where Bayer didn’t perform well in the Blood War, but with Fengo’s help, he ensured that Asmodier kept him around... Besides throwing all his fighting power to their deaths to achieve limited victories, he had no other way.

After all, no other Lord was willing to give him a hand, and even those few powerful Lords were quite willing to trip him up twice.

Asmodier certainly wasn’t unaware of the reasons, but to him, Bayer, who couldn’t stand his ground after such a long time, really served no use.

It was only then he should have considered temporarily stopping with the Bottomless Abyss, and even teamed up to attack the Heavenly Mountain, so Asmodier didn’t care about the blood war for a period, Hell Devils temporarily fell to the lower position.

This made it easier for him to have a chat with the Bottomless Abyss... Approaching Bayer, although he was mostly at a disadvantage, several major counterattacks did knock the Abyssal Demons heavily.

The Abyssal Will certainly wouldn’t think Hell seeks peace because it’s weak, it must have a target... Bottomless Abyss never allies with someone weaker than itself.

But Asmodier’s dislike for Bayer is known to everyone.

So, Tiamat has been working hard for her next position as the First Prison Lord.

And given the Chromatic Dragon Queen’s temperament, she would of course collaborate with Zariel, who was betrayed by Bayer, with her left claw, and strive to remove Bayer’s supporter, Hell Prosecutor Fengo, from Asmodier’s trust list with her right claw.

Fengo’s trustworthiness to Lord of Hell is certainly not due to loyalty... Asmodier wouldn’t pay much trust even to his daughter, let alone Fengo... But because he indeed can accomplish the tasks entrusted by the Lord of Hell.

Moreover, most tasks were completed well, generally reaching a pass.

These are tasks from Asmodier! None are easy.

But if he makes such an unforgivable mistake in matters related to Bisozeya, and lets nine layers of hell suffer such merciless ridicule... Abyssal Demons only partnered temporarily because of a common enemy, after which both sides would continue their Blood War.

The Abyssal Will and nine layers of hell actually need the blood of both sides... Order needs chaos, chaos needs order... This is hardly a secret anymore.

The growth of nine layers of hell has truly been because, after Asmodier brought the Battle Angel into hell, all demons’ blood left on the battlefield nourished the entire First Hell.

After staying beside Tiamat for so many years, especially with the Red Dragon constantly accompanying her in hell, how could it not know Tiamat’s thoughts?

If indeed Tiamat can be temporarily calmed, it’s no wonder the Red Dragon would work so hard... Perhaps, he hasn’t even intended to give up his Chromatic Dragon identity, but just wants to first remove his daughter from the dangerous battlefield.

Sure enough, those old guys who live long, none are mediocre.
