Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 695: Chapter 494: The Harpists Who Came to Become Dragon Knights

Terry didn’t understand why Hill looked so helpless, well aware of the many valuable items Hill possessed that could earn Gold Coins. Did Hill prefer hoarding goods over collecting Gold Coins?

These weren’t treasures, even Giant Dragons wouldn’t be so stingy.

How nice it would have been if they were charming, tinkling small gold pieces!

The Golden Dragon curled his lips and removed his soft gloves, comfortably laying down on his own large carpet: ”Hill, the Harpists also want to come over.

Although they say it’s because Melikai’s Priest is accompanied by a unicorn-riding Elf and they really want to find a new parish, I always feel there’s something off.

What he said is true, but not everything.”

”If they don’t want to tell you directly, it must be dragon-related!” Agleya said bluntly, ”They just can’t tell you outright, but that doesn’t mean you can’t find out, probably your family knows all about it.”

Hill was stunned for a few seconds, then suddenly it hit him.

This is in preparation for the Year of Thunder next year; with endless thunder falling to the earth and numerous Dragon Eggs, whoever finds them, they belong to them, which aligns completely with raising their own Dragon Race.

As the most direct embodiment of the source, both the Platinum Dragon King and the Chromatic Dragon Queen must have received the prophecy.

So Bahamut might have already sought help from all the allies, preferring to turn these Dragon Eggs into Metal Dragons rather than let them become Chromatic Dragons, and then forge a short-term alliance contract with humans.

In simple terms, that’s Dragon Knight.

The God System of the forest has always been on good terms with the Platinum Dragon, not to mention the Goddess of Magic; they would certainly pursue such mutually beneficial dealings.

As for Tyr, they probably aren’t interested; Dragon Knights are fine, but for the Paladins who prefer collective charges, it’s not as good as riding Pegasus unless they can form a Dragon Knight Order.

Preventing Baal from truly resurrecting through his progeny is even more important for Tyr.

For the Harpists who prefer more individual fights, becoming a Dragon Knight is much more significant.

But they cannot tell Terry the truth, right? Who dares to tell a Golden Dragon: ”To ride your kin out the door, all members of the Harpists are especially diligent?”

”Agleya is right,” Hill nodded to Terry, ”You could contact your parents and ask, but I guess it doesn’t concern you much, otherwise they would have notified you.”

”What about the people from the Harpists?” Terry tilted his large head, unable to resist asking, ”Should I let them in?”

”Anyone can come to that half of the Agleya Temple. They’re just coming for the clean water here!” Hill answered indifferently, ”But the temple can’t be built on this side of the inn. Ordinary people who want to come can, like those from Tyr’s side, rent my house; 6 Gold for the small ones, 12 Gold for the large ones, per year.”

Terry suddenly laughed out loud: ”You’re putting Harpists people and Tyr’s followers together? Heh heh~ They might end up fighting.”

”They’re all from the Kind Alignment, they will understand each other, and there are several rows of them~they can negotiate among themselves.” Hill said unflinchingly, ”If they fight, let Tyr’s Judges handle it! I believe they will ensure fairness, after all, the Harpists aren’t their enemies.”

Terry leaned against the window and looked out at the desolate swamp to the west of the road: ”You sure know how to deal with these Elven Priests! For them to build Melikai’s Temple with their own hands, it would take them over a decade.

Just purifying those trees would take about ten years, right?”

As followers of Melikai, it was absolutely impossible for them to seek help from Mages, even Nature Mages.

Not to mention asking other Deities for help.

The trees that survive have been infiltrated and ravaged by the aura of death for at least a hundred years, Wood Elves will have their hands full.

Terry revealed a sneering expression, different clans of Dragons end up fighting, could different clans of Elves actually get along?

The Harpists are thinking too beautifully.

”Since she wants to add glory to Goddess Melikai, she must put in some hard work; otherwise, why doesn’t she just stay in Silvermoon City?” Hill also revealed a slight smile.

Since she didn’t tell the truth, Hill of course would treat her with regular hospitality.

He was just a cold-tempered Wood Elf with no relationship to his Gold Elven Bloodline.

If anyone wanted to delve into the little bit of Elven Bloodline in Hill, they could go ask Coron about it; when it comes to lineage, he truly only had that slight connection with Coron.

”If you find running a store troublesome, why not invite merchants to settle in?” Terry asked curiously, ”There will definitely be people willing to come; the location here is actually not bad.

You just have to lower the tax a bit, too high and they might as well stay in Neverwinter or Deepwater City, not many people will buy things here, only those passing by.”

”That bit of tax isn’t worth the hassle,” Hill laid down directly, ”Do I also have to appoint a Sheriff to resolve their business disputes?

No matter whose fault it is, it’s all trouble.

I run my own shop, all prices are clearly marked, sales are handled by an Intelligence Core, deliveries are made by Puppets, if someone still causes trouble, it’s their fault if they get killed by a Puppet.

In your tavern, there are not many nice guys.”

Recalling those Luskan people who dared to provoke him knowing he was a Giant Dragon, Terry nodded in agreement.

He knew Hill didn’t like endless troubles, but on the Ferun Great Land, involving people always invited troubles.

Sometimes, an extra word from a clerk might bring about lethal trouble.

That’s why Hill preferred to struggle a bit at the beginning, rather than having to clean up a mess later.

On the other hand, those who came directly to Hill to create problems were the easiest to deal with; they couldn’t even be called troublesome, as sending them back or killing them was very simple.

Terry didn’t want to deal with personal relationships either, but bartending was another matter. He pulled out a blueprint, ”Hill, I like this house.”

”You’ve finally decided to build your own home?” Hill smiled, passing the paper over, and his smile gradually faded.

Even a bird’s nest would be better than this, Terry!

Isn’t this the Holland Treasury? Hill didn’t even remember when he had stored this blueprint!

Could it be that the Undead Tribe had a similar structure?

He looked at List, completely baffled.

”This is a blueprint sent by the Wenjian Clan; I remember it clearly,” List had already seen it, ”At the time, he wanted to set this building as the main building of the Crystal Palace, but his family held him back. In the end, not wanting to waste it, they sent it to us.”

It was just recycling waste.

The result was unexpected; a Gold Dragon had taken a liking to this fully enclosed concrete-like structure.

But Hill could suddenly understand why Terry chose it when he thought of the 3D solid Gold Coins covering its exterior!

It’s just a pity for his thousands of blueprints; he lost in the most meaningless way.

”I mean, Hill...” Terry a bit embarrassed, raised his claw to his face, ”Could you use Toril’s Gold Coins? Although they are shiny, they feel a bit unfamiliar.”

Hill was silent for a few seconds before finally sighing, ”That’s possible. But on Toril’s side, I only know what Moon Coins and Dragon Coins look like.”

Terry quickly found all types of Gold Coins from his bag, even those from other continents, ”It took a lot of effort to collect them all from my mom! Thank you, Hill! I’m so excited! This house is literally a Giant Dragon’s dream home!”

”It’s just a coating,” Hill slowly said, ”It’s impossible to replicate it with gold; I don’t want to find out how many Giant Dragons there really are in Ferun.”

”Of course, that’s great!” Terry couldn’t help rolling on the carpet, ”If it was built with real gold, even my mom would have to come and steal the house.”

Hill could sense the seriousness in Terry’s tone and gained a bit more insight into Giant Dragons as creatures.

Seizing the unknown night, Hill, holding the blueprint, flew to the top of Sword Peak to build Terry’s big house.

It was really easy; Terry’s functional buildings like workshops were placed inside sealed caves. The outside house, except for the kitchen and dining room, was just his bedroom in front of the cave entrance.

Terry felt that even if his parents came personally, he wouldn’t choose to entertain them inside his nest, so just leaving a dining area was enough.

Hill thought for a moment, then built a wide viewing platform around the big treasury, and left space on the second floor inside the tall building.

Although Terry had not yet grown and many dragons remained single until death, he always needed to leave this possibility open.

What if he could have dragon whelps in the future?

As for the exterior, Hill, who could naturally command the earth to morph, easily covered it with countless Small Gold Coins, though he got tired shaping the patterns.

By the time he finished with all these gold coins, Silvermoon was already high in the sky.

Hill directed the melted mixture of a considerable amount of copper, a small amount of gold, and stabilizer, slowly covering the entire building, while Terry cherished the gentle wind blowing softly by his side.

”What are you doing, Terry?” Agleya, watching the fun, couldn’t help but ask.

”I’m letting the water dry faster!” Terry said earnestly, ”What if a strong wind comes at night and scratches the gold coins?”

Agleya asked with a displeased face, ”What makes you think that, with me nearby, there would be any issue with water not drying?”

Terry laughed awkwardly twice, he was just worried out of concern!

Hill looked up at his architectural achievement and reminded the Gold Dragon, ”Remember to draw your Magic Array every day, no one else can help you with this.”

Terry waved his claw, ”Don’t worry! I’ve been thinking for decades how to do it!”

Hill left with Agleya, speechless, leaving Terry to admire his love nest.

Though Terry was reluctant to leave his beloved big house, he still went to manage the tavern the next morning, promptly informing people that from now on, there would definitely not only be followers of deities from the Harpist Alliance here but also paladins of Tyr.

Only the tavern would always remain neutral ground; other places, if caught doing something, Terry would not take care of.

The tavern was silent.
