Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 656: 454th Chapter: Hill’s Magic Book Volume Two

Having sent Lynn off, Hill began preparing the second set of magic for his magic book.

Originally planning to casually record the spells he was accustomed to using, he became extremely cautious upon realizing he had accidentally created a prototype of a Divine Artifact.

He planned to organize all the magic into a series to see if they could be enhanced. If possible, Hill did not think his magic book would be much inferior to ”The Book of All Laws.”

Time flowed like water as Hill immersed himself in calculations, and soon it was time to continue logging spells into the magic book.

Hill was ready early in the morning, to record a set of Earth System, no, it should be said, Natural Magic.

After much thought, the first spell he used was Nature’s Blessing.

The Nature’s Blessing spell in his Soul Imprint, after the full recovery of the Earth, was actually not only effective on plants anymore.

The blessing affected all natural products within the range of the spell.

It was just that the changes in plants were too obvious, which is why they were noticeable, but there were also improvements to the land, and even the minerals could recover slightly.

Even in water, there was a significant effect. At least when he went to visit the Crystal Flower, she liked it, saying that some clear nutrients had been added to the water, which were beneficial to her as well.

Every time Hill used Nature’s Blessing, he could feel the Earth in front of him welcoming him.

In the places where he used this spell for a long time, he could feel every tiny change.

Then came Fossil into Mud and Mud into Stone.

For the fourth spell, Hill chose the Stone Wall Technique.

The fifth was the Maze Technique.

The sixth was the Ground Spike Technique.

For the seventh, Hill decisively used the Forest Array.

The eighth and ninth were naturally the two spells he commonly combined with the Forest Array, Forest Song and Dense Forest Stars.

Rather than Attack Spells, Hill felt he currently needed control over his surroundings.

Lynn was indeed good to him, but completely entrusting matters related to himself to Lynn was not a good idea.

For both Hill and Lynn.

So Lynn was always careful to set the scope of his interference with Hill’s matters, which was limited only to the town of Quel’var.

He was worried about Hill, just out of the forest, getting deceived, and not wishing for Hill to avoid interactions with others.

Or perhaps, in Lynn’s eyes, there were actually many problematic people in Quel’var Town.

In places like Ferun, where a person might be wearing several masks, nobody knew who they truly worshiped inside.

Before these people acted openly, the administrators of Ferun would turn a blind eye.

Even priests of Deities with a Kind Alignment did the same; put nicely, it was because they couldn’t take drastic actions against spies lurking everywhere until they committed a crime.

But in reality, it was because they couldn’t manage them.

Just like a mature Holy Knight, who would absolutely not use Alignment Detection in a crowded place.

In Ferun, this magic spell basically signaled the commencement of war.

For someone like the King of Saral who arranges Alignment Detection Arrays extensively on their own territory, in Ferun, he would likely become the common target of all Evil Gods.

And the Deities of a Kind Alignment in Ferun might just watch coldly from the side.

Even Tyr and the Sun God, who despised evil, could only use Alignment Detection near their own temples or churches.

Therefore, in Ferun Great Land, nobody knew whether the person next to them had a different identity; it was best to keep one’s feelings guarded.

Lynn wasn’t worried about Hill being deceived by the Evil Faction, as he was clearly a Mage with the Heart of Nature, which was enough for him to detect all evil auras.

People of the Evil Forces, if not intending to fight Hill, would stay far away from him.

The real trouble came from those who claimed to be neutral middlemen buying strategic materials.

They professed to be absolutely neutral, but in reality, most of their dealings were with the Evil Forces.

How many matters requiring concealment could those of the Kind Alignment have?

Even if there were, Lynn did not want Hill to take that risk.

After all, the Magic Scrolls bore distinct personal imprints, and in any trouble, beings like Elaströ could easily find out who made them.

Since Hill was not short of money, it was better not to sell anything; if there was a real need, it was safest to go to a large faction’s auction, where the responsibility would lie with them.

Lynn’s words, unlike the convoluted ways of the Nobles, were much easier to understand, and Hill understood his meaning immediately.

But if so, much of the pressure was borne by Lynn.

His level in the town was certainly impressive, but that combined strength of merely 10 levels could not stop those who desired Level 7 scrolls.

A novice Mage, no matter how high-level, could easily engage in dealings, especially being largely unaware of the external market prices.

How much could Lynn know, he was just a Bard.

But because of Lynn’s identity, most people still had to step back in the face of divine power.

Lynn felt it was just three months, and during the days when heavy snow sealed the city, the major troubles from Silvermoon City hadn’t made their presence felt yet. By the time they realized, Hill had already gone to the university in Silvermoon City.

People capable of causing trouble at the most prestigious university in Elaströ wouldn’t care about a level-7 magic scroll.

Yet Hill did not want to bring any trouble to Lynn because of himself.

There are always those who, unable to get what they want, impulsively slap those who refuse to help them.

The spell slowly took shape, and Hill’s eyes lit up.

pages of paper gently flipped themselves over and over again.

On the surface of the magic book, a map slowly emerged.

In the illusionary tall forest, branches twinkled with starlight, and beneath them, a few stone walls were faintly visible.

Hill could use the Maze Forest Array every three days, bringing all his magic from the second round.

The range of the maze could be set freely, from 50*50 meters to 5000*5000 meters.

The intermediate values could be changed at will, just by marking out the approximate range, but it couldn’t exceed 5000*5000 meters.

Once constructed, the maze was always in a state of automatic transformation, and only Hill and those bearing his imprint could directly find the nearest path.

Moreover, due to the presence of Nature’s Blessing, the flowers, grass, and trees in the maze could automatically detect enemies, even those who were invisible, hiding from the plants’ perception.

Those beneath the legendary level couldn’t even pick a single flower from the maze, let alone cut trees or chisel walls.

If someone legendary or above did come, Hill would of course have to take action himself, and supplementing Nature’s Blessing was enough to sustain the maze.

Not to mention he could also release Elemental Spirits into the maze.

The Spirits summoned by Hill naturally bore Hill’s imprint, and they certainly wouldn’t get lost.

Then, just like the first Chapter, it was also an enhancement to the spells. The maze summoned by the Forest Array would never disappear unless Hill dispelled it, and its defensive power permanently increased by 20%.

Hill looked at his magic book, extremely satisfied.

This magic book indeed inherited his tenacious essence, every feature delighting Hill immensely.

With the first two sets of spells released, who could find him personally?

If there was such an existence, it’s not that Hill didn’t have other Divine Artifacts at hand.

He silently looked at the rings on both his hands; with them, he felt secure—not just from demigods, but even if deities themselves intervened, few could pose a threat to Hill.

Hill looked satisfied at the area outside his dimensional space; the place Lynn found for him was actually quite good, being 200 meters away from the nearest Merikay Temple.

He could easily set up the smallest Maze Formation there since he lived in a dimensional space summoned by Luxury Mansion Art.

Although a 100*100 meter space was also possible, since it was just a temporary residence, it was better not to make the neighbors overly anxious.

Hill stepped out of the dimensional space, directly summoning the Maze Forest Array with his magic book.

The nearby trees began to slowly move, eventually aligning with the summoned ones in a strange formation.

Hill didn’t know what kind of maze would appear, but one thing was clear, the changes in the Maze Formation were calculated based on the logic and memory of mazes of him, the summoner.

And Hill had always enjoyed those maze games where one had to find a way out of complex palaces.

Those kinds of brain-burning games where, at the end, you feel like your hair is about to catch fire, yet you can’t see the exit even though you’re looking right at the architectural layout.

A priest appeared on the large tree of Merikay Temple.

Hill looked quizzically, it was rare to see a male human priest, who, although quite handsome, also appeared to be quite old.

But as a follower of the Forest Maiden, they generally aged very slowly.

He couldn’t help but remember Lynn’s words, this one only awakened Tree Spirits, even though the effort required was much more than awakening Treants.

If it were a Treant, it wouldn’t have exhausted the priest’s divine power and divine arts in one go.

Hill quietly nodded to the priest looking his way, and waved as he placed a mailbox at the entrance of the maze.

The door of the mailbox could only be pushed inward; aside from this door, the main body was inside the maze. Moreover, any letters or items put inside would slide directly to the center of the maze through a conduit.

Hill only needed to place a few puppets outside to collect various letters at any time.

This way, if someone wanted to find him, they could simply send a letter, and if he didn’t want to sell anything, no one could blame Lynn.

And by not meeting these people, Lynn also didn’t have to worry about Hill being deceived by sweet words.

Hill initially didn’t understand why Lynn was so cautious; if he met these people, surely just warning Hill not to sell anything would suffice?

But Lynn was always worried Hill might be cheated.

Until these last few days, beautiful ladies began appearing near Hill’s dimensional space.

Among them, several were people Hill had seen before, including the Ranger who shot arrows from the rooftop and the female store clerk.

But they hadn’t dressed so enticingly back then.

Hill felt somewhat helpless; these were clearly selections crafted to appeal to Elf Romance!

He thought with some sympathy, Lynn must have been so traumatized initially to have become this cautious now.
