Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 666: Chapter 465 Departure! Hill Prepared to Spend Money in Silvermoon City

Hill felt that he really needed a small farm.

He had arrived in Ferun quite late, and most of the fruits had already gone out of season, especially the special berries from the Supreme Forest.

At heart, Hill was still his old self, when arriving in a new place, scenery and local customs were important, but what concerned him most was which local foods tasted the best.

If there were any fruits he particularly liked, he needed a place to cultivate them, and then transplant the best-tasting ones into the pendant.

Although he could get most of his energy supply from the Elemental Realm, the pendant did have its limits and couldn’t just have anything planted inside.

Hill simply wanted to keep the seedlings to prepare for a future half-plane.

Glancing at Lynn, who was speaking fervently, Hill indeed missed his student life in Silvermoon City and hence wanted his child to also experience what an open college was like.

But he always felt that Lynn was placing too much importance on real estate in Silvermoon City, as if he even wanted him to buy some apartments to rent out, despite the fact that he couldn’t possibly live there all the time; getting into such investments seemed meaningless!

Clutching his juice, Lynn energetically expounded on the importance of buying more houses in Silvermoon City.

Though life in Silvermoon City burnt through money, Lynn didn’t think Hill would run into any problems.

However, no matter how much money was brought out of the forest, just a few rounds of shopping in Silvermoon City and Deepwater City would see it all spent.

Weren’t they all nouveau riche when they first left the forest?

He was a bloody example; if he had bought a few more properties while studying in Silvermoon City when the prices were not as high as they are now, why would he have to struggle to earn money now?

Lynn sighed. Who could have predicted that the Silvermoon Alliance would be established so early? People like them, lacking foresight, always thought that the Golden Dragon Society and Elaströ would contend for the top spot for a while!

Who would have thought she really disliked political affairs, and her Silver Dragon partner, although pretty capable, did not want to carry all the burdens either.

By the time he realized it, Silvermoon City had already begun issuing land permits, and aside from his own small manor and a house inside the city, Lynn no longer had the money to buy anything else.

The real estate prices in Silvermoon City soared like an arrow shot from behind, and the prices were obviously going to keep on rising.

After all, the range of Silvermoon City’s Puzzle Lock was limited; wealthy people, even if living outside the city, would not let themselves reside far from the Puzzle Lock.

Now Lynn had money in his hands, but his status and the Temple and Bard’s Academy behind him could only ensure that he could keep his possessions intact even if he did not live in Silvermoon City.

But Hill was different; Lynn had come to understand during this time that Hill was at least a 17th-level mage, otherwise he couldn’t have used many spells so effortlessly.

That made things much easier! Those underworld hands in Silvermoon City would definitely not dare to reach out to such a high-level mage.

There aren’t many mages with good tempers, and a gentle smile doesn’t mean a gentle heart, brawls are trivial matters for them.

Do they really think Elaströ is dead, not realizing that there is such a high-level mage fighting within her control range?

If that lady should intervene, it would trigger a major purge, and no one would believe they had the means to confront her.

So he hurried to find Hill, hoping his own child could turn the cash on hand into fixed assets while it was still there.

Even if all the money was spent in the future, at least he wouldn’t be hungry or cold, and the crisis of bankruptcy would be a little less severe.

Mages are indeed wealthy, but they have even more ways to spend money.

Even when the cost of living in Silvermoon City wasn’t as high as it is now, Lynn saw countless bankrupt mages, and it didn’t matter the level, even 17th-level mages could go broke.

The final outcome for those mages could only be to sell themselves to Silvermoon City, like the Mage Hughes from Quirael.

Although Silvermoon City was actually quite nice and very accommodating to mages.

But Lynn thought there were too many things going on there, and really getting involved would hurt a mage’s future prospects.

Hill was not in a phase where he needed to be backed by a major power to proceed with his studies, and given the elves’ love for freedom, he had no interest in getting involved in those messy troubles.

Even if he didn’t get involved, it would be quite suffocating to be like Hughes, who could only stay in a place he didn’t like for ten years.

After seeing Lynn off, Hill had to inform Agleya that she would have to spend some time in the pendant again.

The Sea God didn’t mind much; she had just come up with the inspiration to create her own Puzzle Lock, but it was just a rudimentary framework, and how to build it completely and flesh it out was still an unknown.

Staying in the pendant to read more books was also not a bad choice.

Moreover, this was for a better future; Agleya did not hope to live only under Hill’s wings.

When she became a deity, she swore to protect her dad! Now, these reversed days made Agleya uncomfortable.

Although Hill’s Dad was now strong, Agleya believed she could become even stronger.

Seeing the need for space to think, the Little Sea God simply packed up and moved back into Hill’s pendant, of course, along with all the magic books.

Agleya had previously only shown interest in Water Element and Wind Magic, but now she finally realized that even if she didn’t use them, she had to know a bit about many other spells.

Especially the books on magical principles, which could not be ignored no matter how dry they were.

Hill, with no other choice, shook his head and created a more comfortable study for Agleya inside the pendant, where he hung the ice crystal that could connect to her Divine Kingdom.

Although Hill still did not understand the principle behind the deities using avatars, at the very least he knew that whatever Agleya learned here, with a signal, the Divine Kingdom’s counterpart could also learn.

But without connection, unless the avatar perished and its aura returned to the original body, the Divine Kingdom’s original being would remain completely unaware of what had happened.

Marsha, also notified by Hill, began to pack up the items in the dimensional space with the help of puppets.

Although most of the items that came with the Luxury Mansion Art couldn’t be taken away, food and drinks were no problem; they were the complimentary gifts of the Luxury Mansion Art.

Marsha was just a bit regretful that she had to leave behind some of the utensils in the grand kitchen, as they were Alchemy Products and absolutely unable to be taken with her, yet some of them were so useful!

Hill’s own creations were good, too, but he never considered hosting any large gatherings, and everything he made was delicate and small.

Unlike the kitchen in this Luxury Mansion Art, which could provide food for a gathering of thousands if needed.

Marsha initially set up the Tower Spirit to entertain guests, and she took it very seriously.

Unfortunately, the Tower Spirit commanded the kitchen’s chefs and servants with regret, as she turned raw ingredients into dishes, feeling that she might not have the chance to host large banquets again.

Her master no longer needed the approval of others.

Hill was unaware of his Tower Spirit’s slight regret, as he harbored his own regrets.

Hill had thought that before going to Silvermoon City, his Magic Book would have completed its fourth Chapter, but now that was impossible.

After some consideration, he decided that if he couldn’t find a sufficiently safe place, he would simply postpone the creation of the fourth Chapter.

After his heated brain had cooled down, Hill, who felt it would be quite an achievement to create nine Chapters, no longer had the sense of racing against time.

Rather than crafting a Divine Artifact under the watchful eyes of All Gods, it was better to wait until he found a suitable domain.

Moreover, he felt somewhat hesitant about proceeding with the fourth Chapter.

Hill truly worried that once he fully shifted the artifact in the direction of Attack Magic, it might cause problems.

But the thought of achieving perfection and yet choosing only one side left Hill discontent.

Hill felt that it was his lack of ability that led him to such thoughts. On this visit to Silvermoon City, he should indeed look into the various schools of thought in this world.

Especially the knowledge of the Great Archmage’s faction, which not only did Elaströ possess, she also made it freely available in the university for everyone to see.

Although Hill had not been named an honorary professor, he could still enter the library if he was willing to spend the money.

When Marsha had finished organizing everything and approached Hill to have him pack it all away, and to also take back all the puppets, Hill was a bit dazed.

Had he really deployed so many puppets for work?

Even after living in the Magic Tower in Felunryel for so long, Hill had never relaxed to this extent.

There’s indeed a big difference between a place one is always ready to give up and a place where one wants to live comfortably!

Hill could only smile as he packed away these items and puppets, and he sent Marsha into the pendant as well.

Fortunately, Marsha was well aware of Hill’s intended departure time, and after only a few hours of reading, the sky began to brighten slightly.

The time to leave had arrived, and snowflakes started to drift down from the sky.

Hill directly exited the dimensional space, first dispelling his own Luxury Mansion Art, then with a wave of his hand, he erased the Puzzle Lock and labyrinth before bringing out his Alchemy Carriage.

This Alchemy Carriage may look plain, but it was a floating carriage without wheels, paired with two hovercraft-like puppet horses that, upon being revealed, attracted the attention of everyone in the town.

Hill was unfazed, as in Teraxil, not everyone could own an Alchemy Carriage, and he was used to being observed.

He got into the carriage and ordered it to go to the tavern to pick up Lynn.

Packed into the carriage’s Intelligence Core were the maps of Quelva and the topography of the Ferun Great Land, so there was no need for Hill to intervene.

”Hill! Is this what you call an ordinary Alchemy Carriage?” asked Lynn, who climbed into the carriage, overwhelmed.

Its exterior might still seem modest, and any High-level Mage could manage a hovering matrix, so this low-altitude flight wasn’t particularly remarkable to Lynn.

The two puppet horses looked exquisite, but in Ferun, any wealthy noble could obtain them.

But the premise that this carriage was ordinary is invalidated the moment one steps inside.
