Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 686: Chapter 485: The Magic Book Finally Ascends to a Divine Artifact

Terry sat upright, looking down at the little goddess before him.

For a developing giant dragon, nothing was more important than eating, sleeping, and having fun. Terry felt the same; he didn’t find Agleya beautiful, just a bit troublesome.

As for gold and silver jewelry, divine artifacts, and treasures, weren’t those essential? They were life itself!

But Terry still had some sense. He knew that although she looked thin and small, barely enough for a single bite, he absolutely couldn’t beat her. He couldn’t even handle Anbor, let alone Agleya, who clearly seemed much stronger than that madman.

He thought for a moment and then took out the book, saying in his most sincere tone, ”Do you need me to introduce Anbor’s characteristics and weaknesses? Beautiful lady.”

Terry felt truly pitiful. The last time he had been this polite was when he tried to trick his mom into giving him a giant gemstone.

Agleya, with arms crossed, glanced at Terry and briskly nodded, ”I want to know how she managed to make herself look so disrespected. I remember my dad saying that she was a goddess cursed by her own followers?”

”Generally speaking, for those who make a living from the sea, alcohol is the source of life.

I remember why I have such a bad impression of this goddess.

At Dagger Beach, there’s a strong liquor called Fillian Pure Brew, which the sailors have nicknamed ’Bitch Queen’s Revenge.’ My dad loves drinking and has basically tried all the liquors available in Ferun Great Land, so he specially went there to buy it once.

He came back and actually said that it really lived up to its nickname.”

Agleya’s expression froze.

She was actually used to being cursed at by deities, but that was because of the Undead Tribe.

Even for Agleya, because of Hill’s sake, she got along fairly well with the Undead Tribe, and in their hearts, she was still a child, but they would still curse her when their ships sank or they drowned at sea.

It just wasn’t that nasty.

Although William had stopped them from swearing, the Undead Tribe didn’t need to use simple and crude curses.

Thus, the deities of Teraxil had generally excluded the Undead Tribe’s words from the range received by Divine Fire, not to mention the Elf Deities, who had even excluded humans.

But sailors, even though Agleya didn’t accept any faith, more and more of her followers were made up of them.

Praying to Agleya before boarding a ship was basic procedure.

And yet, the Goddess of the Sea, who had the most followers in Toril World, was being called ’Bitch Queen’ by Anbor!

Terry comforted her, ”Otherwise, Hill wouldn’t think you could easily establish yourself in this world. Other deities, even false gods, are not that easy to deal with.

As long as you defeat her a few times, no one in this world will believe in Anbor anymore, except maybe those ugly fish she created herself.

You could completely take over the title of Goddess of the Sea!

Let that one be the Ugly Fish Goddess!”

Agleya nodded emphatically.

”However, I think I can understand why Hill didn’t let you start by contesting the sea’s authority but instead had you first purify the Undead Swamp.

The various races of Toril have already gotten used to the sea’s capricious nature and will only revere you if you defeat Anbor.

This kind of intangible will is easy to change your faction.

Even if you don’t accept faith, it still takes a lot of energy to wrestle with this kind of will.

But if you first rescue so many innocent souls, making everyone’s first impression of you that of a kind goddess, then even if you kill Anbor, you are still righteous and kind!

And with me, a Golden Dragon of the Orderly Good faction, right beside you, I can fully testify that you belong to the Kind Alignment!

I really didn’t expect Hill, that guy, to think things through so thoroughly!”

In the end, Terry couldn’t help but give himself some credit.

Although Agleya was somewhat disdainful, she felt Terry’s effort to maintain a friendly atmosphere and decided not to puncture this little dragon’s thick hide.

Terry smiled with satisfaction and then took out a huge book, asking Agleya with a smile, ”Do you want to take a look at the various divine artifacts and treasures of this land and the humanoid creatures powerful enough to harm a giant dragon?

This is the dragon version, and it even includes many ruins that can kill a giant dragon!

The human world would never have such good things.”

Agleya also revealed a friendly smile, sitting beside the lying-down giant dragon, and they started studying the map together.

Hill no longer bothered about Terry and Agleya outside.

If they really started fighting, it would just destroy buildings in Dimensional Space, and replacing them would be easy.

He concentrated on the Magic Book spread out on the table. Whether or not it could meet his expectations depended on this last step.

If he failed, the Magic Book might never become a top-level divine artifact again.

Suddenly, Hill revealed a slight smile.

When he first began creating the Magic Book, it was just to add some credibility to his disguised identity as a Mage.

Even though the magic book was unexpectedly powerful, Hill’s life did not solely depend on it.

Having it was a blessing, losing it was tolerable.

Hill finally regained his usual carefree demeanor and no longer fretted over the magic book.

He immediately took out the crystal pen and wrote the spell of the ”Luxury Mansion Art.”

Endless light surrounded Hill, and the magic book transformed its appearance within the radiance.

Holding his crystal pen, Hill looked on in surprise, astonished that it truly became a Divine Artifact!

The colorful light that spread out from the study made Terry and Agleya, who had just started to get along in the hall, look up in astonishment.

Terry had just been warning Agleya about Divine Artifacts in this world that could harm deities and to be cautious, never expecting one to appear right beside them.

Although he could sense that the artifact’s level wasn’t high, it was just made by Hill!

Terry glanced at Agleya, who seemed unimpressed, and gained a new appreciation for his friend Hill.

No matter the world, Hill must be exceptionally strong in crafting magical items, at least in Coron’s best expertise.

The light gradually dissipated, and the magic book fluttered around in front of Hill, changing size.

Hill reached out his hand, and it flew to him and opened automatically.

Now officially a Divine Artifact, the magic book revealed three artifact traits, all four Chapters needed to be complete for normal use.

The first trait: The holder of this magic book must belong to the Kind Alignment, and their Summoning System and Nature System magic levels will permanently increase by one level. A non-Kind Alignment holder will receive Nature’s Curse immediately and be attacked by one or several Element Lords randomly.

For Hill, holding it himself meant an increase of two levels in Summoning System and Nature System magic.

The second trait: All magic written in the magic book can be cast instantly without materials. Even the Space Series magic copied by Hill could be used directly at any moment, including the Luxury Mansion Art, for which Hill would only need to use materials for the desired additional features, not the basic materials.

Hill considered this trait and drifted into a daydream.

Although he had given up on inscribing Destruction Element magic, the thought of instantly casting ”Fire Wall” or even ”Firescorch Town” still excited him.

The third trait was what surprised Hill the most. This magic book could serve as a power source for Floating Mountain, just like the ”High Mountain Crown” of the Silvermoon Dragon Queen.

However, being a Subartifact, it could only make a small mountain float.

While Hill would not use this feature soon, he was well aware that as the magic book improved, it might be able to lift an entire mountain range!

Suddenly, Hill took out Terry’s bell and rang it hard.

Although it thoroughly startled the two eavesdropping youngsters outside, it completely woke him up.

A Divine Artifact always has dual aspects.

No matter what kind of Divine Artifact, it could be an embodiment of some law, and even without sufficient intelligence, it would unconsciously strive for dominance.

Even as the Creator, Hill needed to maintain his own sanity to prevent himself from becoming a puppet of the artifact.

With a calm demeanor, Hill opened the magic book and finally saw the traits of the fourth Chapter that he was eager to know.

This time, there was only one trait, but it perfectly fulfilled all of Hill’s ideas.

Hill could designate a 500-square-meter independent platform as the foundation for the mansion.

The house on the foundation would exist forever unless the magic was dispelled. The outermost perimeter of the foundation would be lined with tall thorn walls, which he could freely select and even mix and match.

For instance, wooden thorns could also be intertwined with various vines.

This foundation would not only have enhanced floating capabilities but could also fly in the air and perform short-range jumps, utilizing phase jump once daily. It would allow wooden and stone materials to pass freely.

Last, the foundation would camouflage itself to match the surrounding environment, whether high in the sky or in the forest.

Hill smiled in satisfaction; even without a floating city or mountain, he at least had a floating castle.

”Dad Hill! Are you alright?” Agleya, feeling the calm in the study, called from outside, worried about that strange loud noise.

Agleya glanced at Terry, who had moved away, and frowned. The life of that golden dragon was saved by Dad Hill; why was he behaving so coldly?

”Agleya, come in!” Hill smiled, ”It’s alright, the temptation from the artifact just forming was too great; I used that to lift my spirits a bit.”

Agleya walked in with a strange expression: ”Is this something new that Dad Hill made?”

Looking at Terry hiding in the hall, Hill decided to spare his face: ”Made during a boring time in Silvermoon City, it can be used here, informing travelers along the way that it’s almost time to close for the night, and they better hurry if they want to stay.”

Agleya stiffened; she had no interest in looking at Hill’s artifact anymore.

This meant she had to listen to that terrible sound every day!

No, absolutely not!

She must think of something.
