My Youth Began With Him

Su Yu was washing his face and shaving when he heard Huo Mian’s voice.

He ran out of the bathroom with a razor in his hand.

“What is it?”

“Uh… You should finish up first, we’ll talk later.”

Seeing that Su Yu was busy, Huo Mian felt a little embarrassed and wanted him to finish first.

“Okay, wait for me.”

Su Yu turned around and ran in. Three minutes later, he came out at lightning speed.

He sat on the sofa opposite Huo Mian and looked at her.

“What? Have you thought things through and decided to marry me?” Su Yu teased.

“Stop fooling around… I’m here to tell you, can you not ask your assistant to bring me breakfast?”

“What’s wrong? Is it not delicious?”

“No, this will cause gossip,” Huo Mian said directly.

“Like…?” Su Yu asked.

Huo Mian’s cheeks were slightly red. She lowered her head and said, “My colleagues misunderstood. They thought we had an improper relationship.”

“What a joke. Would I have such bad taste?”

Huo Mian looked up at Su Yu in surprise.

“You’re a nurse, and I’m a super-rich man… There’s a huge difference in our statuses.”

“That’s true.” Huo Mian wasn’t angry; her tone was calm.

“I asked my assistant to buy breakfast because I wanted to thank you for helping my fever subside yesterday. I heard that you didn’t want the money, so I wanted to buy something. It’s nothing, don’t take it to heart. My bodyguard eats more than you do. This may be a luxury to you poor people, but to me, it’s nothing.”

“Alright, I was thinking too much.”

“Mhm, Miss Huo, I know that you’re a professional and knowledgeable person. The reason why I specially called for you is that I trust your skills… I’ve heard about your performance in the First Hospital. During my stay in the hospital, I still need to trouble you. If you need anything, just let me know.”

“I don’t need anything. This is my job as a nurse.”

Then, Huo Mian turned around and left, looking a little lonely.

Su Yu’s earlier enthusiasm really gave her the illusion that he liked her.

However, Su Yu made it very clear just now that he became close to her because she was professional enough.

He didn’t mean anything by it, so it dispelled Huo Mian’s doubts. Instead, she stopped thinking about it and felt more at ease.

After Huo Mian left…

An hurriedly knocked on the door and entered. “Boss, are you crazy?”

“I’m fine…” Su Yu picked up an apple and munched on it.

An quickly grabbed the apple, washed and skinned it.

“But I was at the door just now and heard you scolding Miss Huo very loudly.”

“Scolding? I don’t think so. I was talking to her at best.”

“Aren’t your words too hurtful? Not only did the bodyguards at the door hear it, but even the gossiping nurses also heard it.”

“I just want them to hear it.”

“Isn’t that not giving Miss Huo face?” An didn’t understand what his boss was doing.

“No… I have so many chances to see Mian in the future. If I told her directly that I like her, she would start avoiding me from now on. I’m taking a step back to advance. Mian is a prideful person and cares about what her colleagues think. I don’t want her to take the blame for no reason… After all, I’m the cause of everything.”

An handed over the peeled apple. He felt even more muddled.

“Boss, do you really like Miss Huo?”

“I don’t like her,” Su Yu answered without hesitation.

“You’re treating her like a playtoy… for fun?” An felt like his boss had gone too far this time. Miss Huo was really nice.

However, Su Yu’s words shocked An again.
