My Youth Began With Him

“Huo Mian, you’re… so good to Su Yu.”

Jack didn’t sound ironic or contemptuous; he seemed to be stating a fact.

Maybe Huo Mian’s act astonished him, too. The woman could always surprise him.

“Huo Mian, stand up… What are you doing? You want me to kill myself before you?”

Su Yu was burning with rage. He swore if Huo Mian wasn’t pregnant, he’d slap her hard. What was she doing?

Ignoring Su Yu, Huo Mian continued to beg Jack.

“I don’t want to drag my friend into the feud between us. Please let him go… Or I’ll poison myself and die here. I’m afraid you’ll fail your mission if I die because your master doesn’t want me dead yet; I’m still useful to her…”

As Jack remained silent, Huo Mian issued the ultimatum with a white pill in her hand.

“Okay.”

Jack said almost without thinking.

“Then get Su Yu out of here. I want to see him leave…” Huo Mian asked.

“I won’t go. I’m fucking not going anywhere… Huo Mian, you’re a big moron… If you die, I can’t fucking live; I just can’t.”

Su Yu almost broke, thinking Huo Mian was extremely selfish. She didn’t ask what he wanted and blackmailed Jack with the threat of killing herself by poison.

Su Yu almost went mad…

Huo Mian turned her head and looked at Su Yu with a calmness he had never seen before.

“Su Yu, please… One death is better than two. Besides, I won’t die since they haven’t reached their goal yet. You don’t have to stay here with me. Grandpa Su is waiting for you to return. Everyone is waiting for you. Han Yueyao is a good girl. Su Yu… You still have a good life before you.”

“Don’t pull this bullshit with me. A life without you, Huo Mian, is never a good life for me.”

Su Yu almost roared the words out.

For years, he had hidden his love for her in the depth of his heart, fearing to cause a misunderstanding between Qin Chu and Huo Mian or give Huo Mian pressure.

He even forbade his friends to joke about it and kept his love for Huo Mian a secret in his heart.

But at this moment, he couldn’t keep the secret hidden anymore.

He didn’t want her kindness; he wanted a life with her in it even though she was only his good friend.

“Okay. I have no time to watch a love drama. Huo Mian, go with me…”

Jack stopped them, not wanting to watch this intimate talk between them.

“I won’t go. I’d rather die than leave you behind.”

“Su Yu, listen to me. Please.”

Huo Mian’s tears slid down like raindrops. She just wanted to get Su Yu back safe, which was her greatest concern for now.

“Why? Huo Mian. Why should I listen to you? Who do you think you are? Who are you to me? I won’t listen to you this time. Never… I’ll never leave you behind.”

Su Yu’s crimson eyes were dry. This scene reminded him of the nightmare he had had more than one month ago; in the dream, Huo Mian was covered in blood and asked him to leave.

He almost stopped breathing due to the excruciating pain in his heart.

He couldn’t believe Huo Mian, the woman he’d die for, tortured him at this critical moment, giving him so much pain.
