My Youth Began With Him

On the other side, Qin Chu and his team faced a difficult journey since the path to the bamboo cottages were full of landmines.

His subordinates were not as professional as Lu Yan’s, so one of them stepped on a landmine and got wounded after they ventured only hundreds of meters into the jungle.

Fortunately, Qin Chu had brought a medical emergency kit and he dressed the guy’s wound immediately.

“President Qin, don’t mind me. Go ahead and find Mrs. Qin.”

“We’ll go together. I brought you guys here and I must bring you guys back.”

Qin Chu insisted on taking care of his wounds; then he led the way, trying to find the location of the bamboo cottages while keeping an eye out for landmines cautiously. The rescue journey was extremely difficult and slow.

Meanwhile, Huo Mian, Su Yu, and Zhao Qingya lost morale when Jack caught up with them.

“You’re very fast…”

Jack laughed as he strode up with a dozen dark-faced brawny men with machine guns.

For one instant, Su Yu despaired. He wasn’t afraid to die, but Mian couldn’t die.

“Zhao Qingya, you’re really bold to betray even the Young Madam.”

Jack glanced at Zhao Qingya and smiled.

“I didn’t… Huo Mian blackmailed me. That little bitch Huo Mian poisoned me… If I didn’t listen to her, the poison would kill me… Please don’t tell the Young Madam, okay?”

Zhao Qingya changed sides immediately; to prove her loyalty, she even grabbed Huo Mian’s hair roughly.

The moment she touched Huo Mian’s hair, Su Yu pushed her to the ground

Su Yu was gradually recovering his strength. Seeing Zhao Qingya act so rudely to Huo Mian, he was furious and used all his strength; caught off guard, Zhao Qingya was pushed to the ground with flailing limbs.

“Su Yu, Huo Mian… Haha. You’ll both die. You can’t get away… When we return to the Young Madam, we’ll all die… But before that, I’ll get my revenge.”

She took out a pistol suddenly and aimed at Huo Mian’s back.

Before she could pull the trigger, her head was blown off, with her brains spraying out… Then she collapsed to the ground.

Su Yu and Huo Mian looked at Jack in terror.

He had a handgun with great explosive force and killed Zhao Qingya before she could scream…

Seeing the white brains, Huo Mian retched and almost threw up the congee she had eaten.

Su Yu hurried over to support her.

“Mian… Are you okay?”

Huo Mian waved her hand and forced down the surging waves in her stomach.

Inhaling deeply, she looked at Jack and dropped to her knees with a thud.

With her big belly, her movements were clumsy, making her look like a round chinchilla.

Jack’s eyes turned unreadable instantly… He didn’t speak but looked at her quietly.

“Huo Mian, what are you doing? Why do you kneel before him?”

Su Yu was furious. Huo Mian wasn’t a spineless person; she’d never submit to anyone even at the threat of death.

But now she dropped to her knees before the psycho Jack, which astonished Su Yu.

Furious, he tried to pull her up, but she resisted his effort.

“Jack, I beg you… Your young madam only wants me. Su Yu has nothing to do with it… I’ll go with you, but please let Su Yu go.”

Then she kowtowed at Jack solemnly.

Su Yu felt his heart break.
