I Am Diagnosed as a Medical Titan

Chapter 209: Chapter 149: See You Again

After another five minutes, Jiang He flopped back over and let out a long sigh. ”Ugh...”

Shen Yu had actually been watching Jiang He out of the corner of her eye the whole time.

Watching him toss and turn like a fish in a hot pan, trying to get comfortable, she couldn’t help but laugh in exasperation.

She stopped scrolling on her phone and turned to look at Jiang He. ”Dr. Jiang, you’re being awfully restless, aren’t you? If you want something, can’t you just say it?”

Jiang He opened one eye and looked at her. ”Are you sleepy? Want to take a nap too?”

Shen Yu lifted her chin. ”I’m not sleepy.”

”Oh, okay then. You do your thing,” Jiang He said, closing his eyes again.

The room fell silent for a few more minutes.

Jiang He suddenly hunched his shoulders, pulled the blanket up higher, and said with a shiver in his voice, ”It’s so cold. Is the AC set too low? I feel really cold.”

Shen Yu couldn’t help but laugh again at his terrible acting.

She tossed her phone aside, turned over, and poked Jiang He firmly on the cheek with a finger.

”You are so dishonest.”

His intentions exposed, Jiang He didn’t want to beat around the bush anymore.

He snapped his eyes open, shot out a hand, and grabbed Shen Yu’s wrist.

He pulled her closer.

Jiang He threw caution to the wind and said directly, ”Come lie with me for a while.”

”Eh?”

Shen Yu let out a cry of surprise.

This kind of sudden, direct move always caught her off guard.

When Jiang He was hemming and hawing and making excuses, Shen Yu could still keep a clear head to tease him and push back.

But every time Jiang He dropped the roundabout act and got straight to the point, Shen Yu’s mental defenses would instantly crumble. She just couldn’t take it.

’Because deep down, she also really wanted to hold Jiang He for a little longer...’

”Hmph...” Shen Yu turned her face away and mumbled, ”Fine. To be honest, I didn’t sleep well either...”

After giving herself a way out, Shen Yu followed Jiang He’s pull and slowly slid into the covers.

The moment she lay down, Jiang He eagerly opened his arms, pulling her entire body into his embrace with a deep longing.

The movement was so quick and forceful that Shen Yu bumped right into his broad chest, letting out a little grunt.

”Be gentle, you scared me,” Shen Yu complained softly, but her hands naturally wrapped around Jiang He’s waist.

Jiang He didn’t say anything, just lowered his head and nuzzled his chin back and forth in Shen Yu’s hair.

He was incredibly attached to her. He really, really liked Shen Yu.

”You smell so good,” Jiang He said.

Shen Yu couldn’t take it anymore. She shyly bumped her forehead against Jiang He’s chest and protested in a small voice, ”You... If we’re sleeping, then just sleep. Don’t say such weird things.”

Jiang He didn’t say anything else but simply tightened his arms around her a little more.

’Holding his girl... he could truly never get tired of this feeling.’

’That feeling of fulfillment, of having his arms completely full, was the only medicine that could heal the many years of loneliness from his past life.’

’But the thought of the countdown to her departure for the airport growing shorter made his heart clench.’

’It made him want to cherish this quiet time even more. He even prayed in his heart for time to slow down, just a little bit more.’

The two of them held each other under the covers for a good while, gradually getting used to the intimate position.

”Oh, by the way,” Jiang He said suddenly, his chin resting on the top of her head. ”I might have to take a trip up north at the end of November.”

Shen Yu looked up from his embrace and blinked. ”What for?”

”Business. The specifics aren’t set in stone yet.”

Shen Yu just said, ”Oh.”

’Saying it like that... it’s obvious he just wants to come see me.’

A flicker of unconcealable happiness flashed in Shen Yu’s eyes.

’This was more than enough proof that Jiang He liked her too. And that was very good.’

Then, she poked his chest gently with her finger and said, ”Dr. Jiang, honestly, I’m just worried that when I’m not with you, you’ll push yourself too hard again. You need to know how to relax properly, okay?”

”I know, don’t worry.”

”I’m not reassured. I’m requiring you to take at least one day off every week. On that day, you have to send me a message to report in. Report that you absolutely did not do any work, and then tell me where you went to have fun and what delicious food you ate. Got it?”

”Alright, I get it. Yes, ma’am.”

Hearing his promise, Shen Yu wrapped an arm around his waist, placed her palm on his back, and began patting it gently, over and over, as if coaxing an insecure child.

”Dr. Jiang, don’t be anxious, don’t worry, and don’t be afraid. After I go back to school, I’ve already discussed it with Juanzi. Her dad is really strict with her now and makes her get a physical check-up every single month. Juanzi said she’d just bring me along, so I’ll be getting a check-up every month too. I’ll send you every single check-up report to look at. I will take good care of myself, and I absolutely won’t let myself get sick. You can rest easy.”

Shen Yu’s words left Jiang He completely stunned.

He had never told Shen Yu anything about what was to come.

But the subtext of her words made it obvious that she had already realized something.

’My girl’s intuition is just too powerful...’

Jiang He’s eyes grew hot.

Honestly, Shen Yu’s words calmed his heart a great deal.

This feeling was like a top-tier psychiatrist had created a tailor-made treatment plan just for Jiang He.

Shen Yu had not only soothed him emotionally, but by using objective facts—the monthly check-ups—she had also cut off the source of his panic and diluted the shadows of his past life.

Jiang He was completely overwhelmed.

An indescribable wave of emotion and love surged through his chest.
