Forcing Me to Be a Godly Tycoon, Right?

Zhang Jingdong was once again utterly captivated, and at the same time, he drew even more intense envy and jealousy than ever before.

In response, he simply decided to go all the way, wrapping his arms casually around Lin Shishi’s waist, and then kissed her directly.

Lin Shishi had already gotten used to this guy’s bold moves.

Moreover, after yesterday’s date, Zhang Jingdong had officially become her rightful boyfriend, so even though she knew he was doing it on purpose, she chose to indulge him.

Zhang Jingdong kissed her intermittently for a full seven to eight minutes before reluctantly letting go of Lin Shishi.

Lin Shishi adjusted her breathing for a moment, then shot him a glance: ”The kiss I owed you from yesterday has been made up with that just now!”

Zhang Jingdong laughed immediately: ”Senior, you’ve got your math wrong!”

”How is it wrong?”

”Because today’s kiss is today’s kiss. You still owed yesterday’s kiss, but there should still be today’s routine kiss, right?”

”Besides, last night we agreed that the kiss you owed isn’t something a simple kiss can repay.”

”You...” Lin Shishi grumbled, ”You really are a businessman, so crafty!”

Zhang Jingdong smirked: ”Senior, you can’t blame me for this. Who told you to be even prettier today? I’m just acting on impulse!”

Lin Shishi, receiving the compliment, was happy inside but said aloud, ”... Annoying!”

As soon as Zhang Jingdong heard this, and upon seeing her charming demeanor, he was moved.

He embraced her fragrant shoulders, and at the same time, gave her a heavy peck on her pretty cheek.

This time, Lin Shishi not only didn’t resist at all, but rather, gave him a gentle look, full of shyness and joy.

At this moment, the surrounding boys sneaking glances at them felt their envy and jealousy of Zhang Jingdong reach its peak.

Zhang Jingdong sensed this, but didn’t care in the slightest, confidently leading the signature beauty of West University away from the scene.

As usual, they went to the cafeteria’s third floor.

Each ordered a bowl of Crossing the Bridge Noodles, still using Lin Shishi’s card.

Zhang Jingdong tasted the noodles and couldn’t help but praise: ”No wonder so many people queue up. These noodles really taste good!”

A rare glimmer of pride flashed in Lin Shishi’s eyes: ”Right? I never used to eat noodles, but after being repeatedly recommended by my dorm mates, I tried it and immediately liked it.”

Zhang Jingdong took a couple more bites and said: ”Have you noticed that places that were wealthier from ancient times often don’t have representative foods, like Hang City and Kaifeng, whereas areas like Yunnan Province’s Shuangqing, and Guangdong and Guangxi regions have many iconic dishes, like the noodles, hotpot, and snail rice noodles.”

Lin Shishi paused slightly, then nodded in agreement: ”It does seem like that.”

Zhang Jingdong sipped some noodle soup: ”I used to not know why, but after visiting some places, I kind of understand.”

Lin Shishi, curious, asked: ”Really? Tell me about it?”

Zhang Jingdong then feigned profundity and said: ”I think there are many reasons, but an important one is that in ancient times, the more backward an area was, the less staple food there was, so to survive, people had to come up with other things that could substitute for the staple or improve cooking methods to maximize the use of staple foods.”

”For example, the hotpot from Shuangqing, where the delicious tripe, duck intestines, and artery are things wealthy people wouldn’t eat, so dock workers turned them into delicacies.”

”And the reason hotpot is so oily and spicy is to cover the fishy taste of those ingredients, so they’d go down easier.”

Lin Shishi thought about it carefully and nodded: ”You do have a point, and our generation actually has some experience with this too.”

”For example, when I was a kid and our family was poor, we couldn’t eat much good stuff, so every summer, my grandmother would make locust rice, it was so delicious!”

”Also, I remember there was a type of wild vegetable, you just wash it clean, mix it with chili oil, and it tasted so good.”

”As you said, due to the lack of staple foods, people would develop all kinds of delicious foods.”

”I think this is somewhat like our lives. If everything is too affluent and smooth, life becomes boring.”

”Precisely because most of us will encounter various setbacks and difficulties in our life journey, we strive in different ways, finding methods to overcome these challenges, and thus one day in the future, we may be surprised to find that our lives are quite interesting and full of fun.”

Zhang Jingdong sighed: ”Tsk tsk, as expected of University Beauty Lin, your words indeed have a bit of philosophy!”

”It’s a pity we’re in the cafeteria, otherwise, we’d toast to your words!”

”Tell you what, when we head back later, let’s buy some barbecue and beer, tonight we can enjoy a drink while watching a movie.”

Lin Shishi pursed her lips: ”Forget it, lest you get drunk and misbehave!”

Zhang Jingdong joked: ”Senior, I have a pretty good alcohol tolerance, one and a half bottles of liquor, and I can handle beer freely.”

”Even so, who knows if you might suddenly not handle your drink well and then... then misbehave!”

Zhang Jingdong sighed: ”Senior, you’re starting to trust me less and less, and that’s not a good sign for our growing relationship.”
