I Am Scouted by Real Madrid

Chapter 242: Chapter 1: Transfer 2

”No one, no one told me how the club’s transfers are going, what stage they’re at, it’s as if all of this has nothing to do with me!”

The footage ends here, and the latest news is that Real Madrid’s president Calderon has already rushed back. He doesn’t want this matter to affect the upcoming training camp.

Some even heard Calderon speak bluntly to Schuster during their communication, suggesting Schuster think carefully and calm down before discussing these issues with him.

He also expressed his intention to have the team’s sporting director Mijatovic communicate with Schuster.

”I’ve always thought he was a tough guy.”

”I thought they would argue!”

”But as soon as he saw Calderon, he immediately softened.”

”Nacho!” Chen Zhong glanced at Nacho and warned, ”He is still the team’s coach now. You need to watch your words; this is Real Madrid.”

Real Madrid has no secrets; it’s as transparent as glass. You never know when a joke might spread and cause a huge uproar.

Moreover, Schuster has always been kind to Chen Zhong.

He gave Chen Zhong a chance last season.

Although he always let Chen Zhong try different positions, experimenting throughout the season with various tactics, compared to his peers, Chen Zhong has had quite a good opportunity at Real Madrid.

”This matter seems to relate to me and Juan.”

”Juan refused the transfer.”

Negredo said somewhat disappointedly from the side.

His transfer had been finalized last season, and initially, Negredo was looking forward to teaming up with Mata and Chen Zhong to start a new season’s campaign.

Who would have thought, Mata surprisingly refused to return to Madrid.

The reasons are simple; they involve Cristiano Ronaldo’s transfer, the internal competition, and Schuster’s tactics.

Schuster’s flanks need players with breakthrough capabilities to disrupt the opponent’s defense during attacks, and obviously, Mata isn’t that type.

Additionally, Real Madrid has been constantly pursuing Cristiano Ronaldo’s transfer.

This indirectly led to Robinho clashing with the club.

A few days ago, Robinho publicly held a press conference in a hotel, expressing his strong desire to leave.

Facing the media, he firmly stated he must leave Real Madrid, targeting Chelsea because they offered him a lucrative contract.

However, Real Madrid is absolutely unwilling to allow Robinho to go to Chelsea, nor do they intend to keep him.

Many Real Madrid fans are also displeased with Robinho’s actions, knowing that quarrels about leaving the club aren’t uncommon in the football world.

But reaching the level of holding a press conference due to groundless rumors is extremely rare.

”So what’s the situation now?”

”Is Cristiano Ronaldo confirmed to join the team?”

The three of them sat in the room without turning on the TV, just talking about recent occurrences within the club, and when the topic turned to C. Ronaldo’s transfer, Nacho was eager to speak.

”There should be a significant chance he will join.”

”Isn’t every team already starting training sessions now?”

”He didn’t even want to attend Manchester United’s training to join us, supposedly due to a knee injury.”

”Huh?” Chen Zhong looked at Nacho in surprise, ”Is that true?”

”Yes!”

”His family expressed the desire for the son to join Real Madrid.”

”So, I think there’s a good chance he’ll join our team this season.”

Nacho sighed a bit, and Negredo also fell into contemplation. If C. Ronaldo joins Real Madrid, he would likely become the 2008 Ballon d’Or winner, which would certainly compress his space and chances.

However, Chen Zhong feels there might still be a turning point.

After all, the head coach of Manchester United is Lord Ferguson, as long as he doesn’t want C. Ronaldo to transfer, he always has ways to keep him.

”What about other players?”

”There can’t be just him and Juan as the only options for this position, right?”

Since Robinho left the team, Juan Mata chose to stay in Valencia, and although C. Ronaldo has a good chance of joining, he hasn’t officially announced it, leaving uncertainty.

Therefore, Real Madrid must have backup plans for this position.

”Rafael van der Vaart”

Negredo highlighted a name; he and Van der Vaart arrived in Madrid almost simultaneously. This Dutch player, born in 1984, previously played for Ajax and Hamburg.

Last season, Van der Vaart appeared 44 times in various events for Hamburg, scoring 21 goals, providing 16 assists, helping Hamburg reach 4th place in the Bundesliga, and advance to the UEFA Cup round of 16.

This season, Real Madrid brought Van der Vaart from Hamburg for 13 million Euros.

This matter also eased the conflict between Schuster and Calderon; if Schuster was keen on signing Ballack last summer, then this season after experiencing woes on the wings, Schuster was determined to bring in Van der Vaart.

While Chen Zhong was chatting with friends on one side, Schuster also expressed his stance on the other side; he told Calderon, ”If Cristiano Ronaldo ultimately doesn’t come, having Van der Vaart will suffice.”

Although this resolved on Calderon’s side, it’s not over on Mijatovic’s side yet.

After all, Schuster’s remarks influenced him to a large extent, and he thought Schuster’s brain might be a little problematic.

Today, during a press conference, Schuster criticized that Mijatovic never discussed transfer matters with him; he’s always the last to know about situations and feels isolated with seriously lacking information.

But!

A few days ago, they had clearly discussed the plan to bring in Van der Vaart, Schuster wanted him to speed up the process, and he agreed.

Although conflicts between the two have a long-standing history.

Initially, when Calderon was a candidate for president, he intended to choose Schuster as the head coach, but Mijatovic’s suggestion made Calderon change his mind.

Later, Calderon admitted, ”Originally, we had a chance to cooperate early on, but Mijatovic believed we needed a coach who could quickly put the team on track, so we first signed Capello.”

But now, Mijatovic has decided to put aside the prejudices and hopes to work together, striving for strength and glory again, yet Schuster stirred things up.

The two discussed and confirmed the club’s transfer plans.

This summer, the biggest transfer operation is Cristiano Ronaldo’s joining, followed by selling Robinho and Baptista, and then Granero ”Pirate”, Callejon, and Parejo returning or advancing.

The only discussion needed is positioning in the defense whether Metzelder should stay and if Ezequiel Marcelo Gallai Gonzalez, aka ”Gare”, from Santander Athletic should be introduced.

Last season, Gare scored two goals in the league, helping the team defeat Real Madrid, and his excellent performance left a deep impression on the team.

And this Argentine star, who just followed the Argentine National Olympic Team to win gold at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, now costs only 10 million Euros to purchase him outright.

This greatly tempts Real Madrid with Calderon in charge, whose extravagant era as the Galaxy Battleship has ended.

Real Madrid now only buys two types of players in the transfer market, either premium players or second-rate ones aside from youth training.

Gare considered second-rate, as Barcelona is also actively negotiating Gare’s transfer.

However, the player himself prefers to head to Real Madrid.

This mediocre transfer plan for Real Madrid this summer consists largely of Castilla players besides a few external players, including Granero, Callejon, Parejo, and Negredo, making a total of four.
