I Am Scouted by Real Madrid

Chapter 232: Chapter 89: Genius (Part 2)

”Two matches, home and away.”

”Facing Valencia, he scored 4 goals!”

”He’s simply the Bats’ assassin, Valencia’s nemesis.”

”Four years ago, when Chen Zhong first joined Real Madrid’s youth training, no one would have imagined that just four years later, this youngster, barely 16, would become a cornerstone for Real Madrid’s future, a starting player for the team!”

”Even more unexpected was his dazzling performance in his first season, achieving double digits in both goals and assists.”

”Can you imagine it?”

”In Europe, in Spain, in Madrid, at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium.”

”China has a super genius who is realizing his potential and might become a legendary superstar!”

”He has broken multiple records.”

”Moreover, he has surpassed the historic record set by Yang Chen at Frankfurt, for a Chinese player playing in one of Europe’s top five leagues.”

The commentator’s voice was extremely enthusiastic. Chen Zhong’s performance and actions at Real Madrid were a milestone for China, and even for Asia.

He changed people’s prejudices about Asians being only good at small balls, not at big ones.

As long as his career does not suffer from severe injuries, as long as he can continue this growth trajectory and continue to progress steadily.

Then he will become a football memory of the 21st century, for Asia and even the world.

He will become a true legend.

The commentator’s passionate voice also infected the fans watching the game at home. Previously in Frankfurt, during the 98-99 season, Yang Chen scored 8 goals, setting the record for the most goals scored by a Chinese player in a single season in one of the top five leagues.

And the total of 16 goals scored in the Bundesliga remained there, welcoming wave after wave of challengers.

People have always paid attention to the voice of playing abroad, but time after time they are left with empty joy.

But now.

Chen Zhong!

From his first appearance, securing his place as a main player, to now being regarded as Real Madrid’s future cornerstone and emblem in Europe, Chinese fans finally have a player they can spiritually invest in; they’re no longer wanderers without a home.

They have a hope of their own, a real hope of playing football.

Schuster roared on the sidelines, he saw Chen Zhong perform his iconic celebration again, he heard the entire stadium shouting: ”CHEN”, he saw Koman’s sullen face on the sidelines, and at this moment, he felt extremely satisfied.

Koman stood on the sidelines, issuing the latest instructions to the players on the field.

And once the match resumed, Chen Zhong quickly felt the pressure from Valencia; they were almost like mad dogs, pouncing on Chen Zhong whenever they saw him, using all means to bring him down outside the penalty area.

”Slow down the pace!”

”More ball control!”

Seeing Valencia’s madness, Schuster issued new instructions to the players on the field, while the team was leading. They didn’t need to do much, just maintain the current advantage and wait for Valencia to make mistakes.

As Valencia focused on Chen Zhong, other players also started showcasing their abilities.

Among them, ”The Golden Wolf” Guti’s performance stood out the most.

He repeatedly showcased dribbling breakthroughs in the midfield, earning himself a lot of applause.

There was even a moment when he dribbled past three players, and from the top of the penalty arc, with a spectacular curling shot, almost broke Valencia’s goal, if not for Hildebrand’s brilliant save, Real Madrid would have nearly sealed the victory.

”72nd minute of the match!”

”Real Madrid made substitutions.”

”Raul replaced Chen Zhong, Robben replaced Baptista.”

When Chen Zhong was tackled outside the penalty area by Madro and Albiol, Schuster made the substitution adjustments on Francisco’s advice.

When Chen Zhong left the field, the fans at Santiago Bernabeu Stadium gave him a generous round of applause, and there were even many bright five-star red flags waving from the stands.

This was a very rare scene on the European stage.

”This is a reward for you!”

”Also, you should train your physical endurance more.” Schuster gave Chen Zhong a hug, not minding the sweat and mud on him at all.

Indeed, in this match, Chen Zhong seemed to have a little difficulty running, mainly due to the intense physical confrontations.

If it weren’t for the numerous times he fell in the second half, he might have been exhausted earlier.

The team’s doctor checked Chen Zhong’s body on the sidelines, and upon seeing the bruises on his thighs and body, couldn’t help but cast a look of admiration at Chen Zhong.

But just at that moment, the situation on the sideline suddenly changed.

David Silva got the ball inside the penalty area and was tripped by Cannavaro, the referee blew the whistle and without hesitation awarded the penalty. Villa took it, aiming for the lower left corner, and scored steadily.

This time Villa didn’t have the time to dance the bull dance, instead, he quickly ran into the net to retrieve the ball.

His actions showed that Valencia was far from satisfied with merely a draw.

After conceding the goal, Real Madrid tried to equalize, and in the following time also got several good chances.

Marcelo’s performance was particularly outstanding, he charged into the left-side penalty area and beautifully crossed the ball to Guti in the center of the penalty area.

Guti noticed the approaching Valencia players and without hesitation, executed a volley.

Unfortunately, it was saved by Hildebrand.

Realizing he was being heavily marked by Valencia, Guti decided to take a different approach, and after drawing the attention of Valencia players, instead of dribbling past them, he made a through ball breaking the stalemate.

Robinho entered the penalty area, facing the goalkeeper and took a strong shot.

Hildebrand showcased world-class skills to save it, and after Robinho got the ball back, instead of shooting again against the rising Hildebrand, he passed it to Sneijder.

Sneijder, with no hesitation, made a low shot.

However, Hildebrand once again showed a world-class save, blocking the ball with his feet.

This godlike performance left the Real Madrid players and fans somewhat speechless.

In the final moments of the match, Schuster replaced Robinho, who repeatedly missed good opportunities, with Higuain, and shortly after getting onto the field, Higuain had a great chance.

In the 90th minute, Raul got the ball, shook off the defender nearby, and then passed directly to Higuain, who moved forward and passed the attacking Hildebrand on the right side of the penalty area.

This scene immediately sent countless Real Madrid fans into ecstasy!

It’s an open goal!

An open goal!

However, Higuain’s narrow-angle shot on the empty goal was blocked by the retreating Albiol.

This moment made Schuster somewhat frustrated, while Koman’s expression suddenly became a bit more relaxed.

Just when everyone thought the match would end in a draw.

Real Madrid, after repeatedly wasting golden opportunities, faced the consequences.

In the final critical moment, Valencia made a long pass from the backfield, this season’s top appearance maker Cannavaro, clearly tired, his reaction had slowed down significantly due to fatigue.

He was directly overtaken by Aris Mendy.

After getting past Cannavaro, Aris Mendy broke into the penalty area’s right side, Casillas misjudged and prepared to block the cross, but Aris Mendy made a small-angle shot into the net.

With his first goal after joining Valencia, he helped Valencia defeat Real Madrid.

The final score was set at 2:3.

Real Madrid suffered their second consecutive league defeat, while Barcelona did not miss this opportunity, directly reducing the point gap to 4 points.
