I Am Scouted by Real Madrid

Chapter 210: Chapter 78: Chen’s Highlight Moment!

Real Madrid fans analyzed the situation thoroughly, all confident that this match was definitely in the bag, but Espanyol fans had also figured things out clearly.

This season, at Espanyol’s home ground, they managed to defeat Real Madrid!

Well now, what if we beat Real Madrid again at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium?

Espanyol fans in the stands shouted loudly to cheer their players on, and some even held up banners reading: ”It’s time to set a new record!”

In fact, they were doing just that. Despite being the away team, they adopted an aggressive offensive strategy right from the start of the match.

”Everyone talks about how talented Chen Zhong is.”

”But to me, he’s just a kid!”

Moises pinched his nose; this 185CM tall and burly Spanish midfielder received instructions from the head coach for this match.

His primary objective was to team up with Smijanic to give Chen Zhong some bodily confrontation.

Although they’ve heard all season long about how formidable Chen Zhong is, Moises wouldn’t believe it until he experienced it himself.

”With De la Pena and Tamudo absent, Espanyol’s midfielder Luis Garcia is incredibly active.”

”His proactive runs have indeed been effective.”

”Just two minutes into the match, Luis Garcia delivered a precise short pass to Hurtado.”

”Unfortunately, Chen Zhong was very mindful of his position, separating Hurtado from his teammates, so Hurtado could only attempt a long shot from outside the box to try his luck.”

The Merengue present in the stands were a bit bewildered by Espanyol’s offensive play.

”Wait, what’s going on?”

”This is our home ground!”

”They actually dared to adopt an offensive stance?”

Under such guidance, the Merengue tried their best to create an imposing atmosphere, hoping to make Espanyol realize who the real boss is.

And when Espanyol fans saw the stance of the Merengue, they were not one to back down.

Do we know fear?

No, we don’t!

In our last encounter, we won, remember?

Especially now with Espanyol completely controlling the situation on the pitch, their spirit was even higher.

Although they were at Santiago Bernabeu, although their numbers were inferior, they still shouted with all their might to encourage their players.

The 1981-born Luis Garcia had a life entirely different from other Luis Garcias. The closest he got to a top team was in 2001, the year when he successfully joined Castilla, dreaming of becoming a part of Real Madrid.

Unfortunately, he eventually never wore the ”royal” jersey.

Last season was the peak of Luis Garcia’s life when he achieved winning the Spanish King’s Cup with his team—that was his first and only significant trophy in his career.

Upon hearing that Real Madrid was preparing to form a ”youth training army,” Luis Garcia couldn’t help but harbor a few illusions.

”It’s Luis Garcia again!”

”He is the core of Espanyol in this match.”

”Facing Chen Zhong, he chose to pass the ball to the left flank.”

”His teammate broke into the penalty area, dodging Torres.”

”Pepe, Pepe blocked the ball out.”

”The match has just entered the 5th minute, and Espanyol already had two threatening attacks.”

”Here they come again, Espanyol is mounting another offensive.”

Espanyol’s offensive waves came one after another, completely entering their rhythm.

Schuster shouted from the sidelines, hoping his team wouldn’t be led around by Espanyol.

On the football field, one must not let the opponent settle into their comfortable rhythm or be led around by them.

”Baptista!” Chen Zhong received the throw-in from Casillas, turned, and passed the ball to Baptista. Their one-two play allowed the ball to smoothly move from their own half into the opponent’s half.

”Chen Zhong continually teamed up with his teammates.”

”Real Madrid is gradually finding the rhythm of the match.”

”They are taking control of the game.”

Moises watched Chen Zhong like a hawk. As Baptista passed the ball over again, he and Smijanic collaborated to close in.

The two burly men over 180cm tall closed in on Chen Zhong from both sides.

Chen Zhong noticed this; he first pulled the ball back to avoid Moises’s tackle, then sidestepped to dodge Smijanic’s hands.

Quickly stabilizing his position, he took a step forward.

The ball went through the gap between the two of them, and Chen Zhong followed through, colliding with Smijanic, creating space to sprint forward.

This smooth operation directly sent the Merengue in the stands into ”eruption.”

This was one of Chen Zhong’s rare moments of brilliance, a perfect combination of agility and toughness. If Moises and Smijanic, Espanyol’s two defensive midfielders, were bypassed like this, the front could easily turn into a 3 against 2, or even a 4 against 2, or 5 against 2 situation.

Moises also understood the gravity of the situation, and in this critical moment, he had no choice but to commit a tactical foul to stop Chen Zhong’s breakthrough.

”Beep~”

The referee blew the whistle, awarding a free kick, and verbally warned Moises.

The standard of his penalty was that Chen Zhong hadn’t completely bypassed Moises at that time, and his position wasn’t advantageous, hence it wasn’t a golden opportunity.
