I Am Scouted by Real Madrid

Chapter 230: Chapter 88: Monster (Recommended)

However, this also gave Valencia’s other defenders time to track back.

Chen Zhong stormed toward the penalty area, with Valencia’s full-backs closing in from both sides. Behind him, the center-backs chased, while in front, the ever-ready goalkeeper Hildebrand kept adjusting.

They were trying to form a cage to trap Chen Zhong inside.

”Chen Zhong’s speed seems a bit slow!”

”Let’s see if this shot can...”

”Outside the penalty area.”

”Going to take a shot?”

”No, chose to pass it sideways!”

”It’s Robinho, his speed is really fast.”

”He’s moving inside.”

”Shooting?”

”No!”

The Valencia players were able to catch up from behind, so naturally, his teammates, especially Robinho, who was already closer, could catch up as well.

Robinho moved diagonally, something Chen Zhong had noticed early on.

Faced with the keeper and surrounding defenders, he feigned a shot and then delivered a true pass through the gap, before quickly cutting to the far end. After Robinho received the ball on the left, Hildebrand rapidly adjusted his position, blocking the near post angle.

Robinho and Chen Zhong formed a diagonal position, facing Hildebrand, who was performing bravely this match. Instead of opting for a shot, Robinho deftly lobbed the ball over Hildebrand, sending it towards Chen Zhong at the far post.

The Valencia defenders turned back in alarm, while Hildebrand used both hands and feet to block, and sounds erupted from the stands.

At this moment, all eyes were on two people.

One was Chen Zhong, the other was Madro, sticking closely to Chen Zhong.

Madro clenched his teeth; he had the positional advantage now. He gathered strength in his legs and leapt up powerfully, intending to clear the ball, but someone behind him jumped even higher.

Directly dunking over his head.

”Boom!”

Hildebrand made a last-ditch effort.

But the ball didn’t follow the path he expected at all.

Chen Zhong leaped high, outmuscling Madro, and smashed the ball hard onto the grass in front of the goal, bouncing it into the inside of the net.

”Beep~”

The referee’s whistle blew amid the cheers of countless Real Madrid fans.

He pointed towards the center circle, signaling the goal was valid.

”GOAL!”

”GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!”

With the commentator’s prolonged shout, the entire Santiago Bernabeu Stadium exploded. They had finally breached the damned goal guarded by Hildebrand, leveling the cursed score before the first-half ended.

And the scorer!

Was the future cornerstone of the team!

Displaying exceptional physical talent and leadership, Chen!

”Brilliant!”

”So brilliant!”

”The ball went in!”

”Just as the first half was about to end!”

”Chen Zhong stood out, first breaking through alone to draw the attention of the Valencia defenders, then calmly delivering a sideways pass amidst their encirclement, placing the ball at Robinho’s feet.”

”That sideways pass showcased his exceptional vision and understanding of the bigger picture.”

”Most players wouldn’t have passed the ball in such an opportunity.”

”And Robinho seemed inspired by Chen Zhong’s selflessness. The Brazilian genius, embroiled in a storm of media criticism and out of form at the start of the season, chose not to shoot blindly when facing the outstanding Hildebrand, instead, passing to the more secure Chen Zhong.”

”This is trust in Chen Zhong!”

”And Chen Zhong did not betray that trust!”

”Facing the close marking by Madro, he leapt high and powered a header to help the team equalize.”

The commentator’s voice was exuberant, while some new fans in front of the TV were left in astonishment.

This may contain the personal feelings of the commentator, yet it also left a strong first impression of Chen Zhong’s infectious charisma and leadership on the new generation of fans.

On the sidelines, Koman, who had been planning on leading with a one-goal advantage into the second half to finish off Real Madrid, was completely stunned.

In the last match, it was Chen Zhong’s solo creation of three goals that caused him to lose face in front of his old acquaintance, Schuster.

It was his first match managing Valencia.

Do you know how deeply that 5-0 defeat scarred my soul?

In this match, I considered every aspect for Schuster, for Real Madrid, to the extreme, even making slight adjustments to our lineup before the game.

Yet, it’s all because of one Chen Zhong.

He’s stuck in my defensive area like an immovable nail stubbornly lodged in my vitals.

”Damn it!”

”Those data analysts should all be damned!”

”They completely underestimated Chen. Madro is at a disadvantage in physical confrontations, and even Albiol can’t firmly suppress this... this monster!”

Koman’s face had blackened completely.

But the intelligence analysis department also has their side of the story!

Chen Zhong didn’t have the [Burly Man] label before, but he has it now! Moreover, it’s a silver one, which they couldn’t have predicted!

Schuster, seeing Chen Zhong’s goal from the sideline, laughed heartily and then glanced at Koman.

Hehe...

Targeting me?

Is targeting me useful? I have Chen, do you have Chen?

Schuster withdrew his unstruck palm and looked at Chen Zhong with a hint of surprise on his face.

Yes, Schuster was already amazed.

Initially, he just thought this kid had some potential, a bit like himself, a bit of character.

But after promoting him to the first team, from initially wanting to loan him out to later experimenting with him in the center-back position, then the midfield, and finally the center forward.

This kid kept giving him surprises.

Time and again he helped solve problems.

The most incredible thing was that he even managed to get along with most players in the dressing room.

Schuster suddenly recalled the guy who recommended Chen Zhong to join Real Madrid’s youth academy.

Juni Calafat.

He saw immense potential in Chen Zhong, and his evaluation back then was, ”A player for whom anything is possible.”

After joining Real Madrid, Chen Zhong’s traits made the youth academy pay increasing attention to him.

From the initial ”a person making daily improvements and working hard,” showing his diligence and perseverance.

Later, ”a confident player, good at utilizing their strengths, unafraid of matches, brave in confrontation, performing better in actual games than in training,” showcasing his strong mental power and courage.

To eventually ”a player with intelligence in defense, strength, and energy and determination in attack,” showcasing his intelligence and versatility.

It’s no wonder such a player earned the nickname ”Monster.”

...

At the end of March

The revenge match against Valencia, an important game where Villa was determined to become the ”Real Madrid Assassin,” marking the first joint season for Valencia’s future twin stars, David Silva and Juan Mata.

At the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium, in this immaculate stadium.

They witnessed the world’s most discerning fans, the Merengues, cheering in the stands for a 16-year-old child.

And this 16-year-old child, followed by Robinho, Baptista, Pepe, Marcelo, Cannavaro...

He leapt high in front of the corner flag, displaying his number 22 jersey and name.

Then at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium, under the watchful eyes of countless fans.

This 16-year-old kid and his surrounding teammates danced the ”bullfighting dance.”

This was a response.

And it also let many fans, who were getting to know Chen Zhong for the first time, understand Chen Zhong’s ”pettiness.”

He wasn’t someone to bitterness dire in silence.
