I Am Scouted by Real Madrid

Chapter 233: Chapter 90: C. Ronaldo

”Hahahaha!”

”Barcelona lost the game!”

”They were actually leading by two goals in the first half but Betis turned the game around!”

Schuster’s laughter echoed in the office after Real Madrid was reversed by Valencia in the last league match, narrowing the gap in the competition to just four points.

This added suspense to the contest for the league championship again.

And as for Koman, who was recently praised by the media, his Valencia was not doing much better either. After defeating Barcelona and Real Madrid, they unexpectedly lost to Mallorca in the just-finished league match.

One lost to Betis, the other lost to Mallorca.

This fully proves the golden rule that football is round.

”We need to be more calm.”

”After the match with Sevilla, we have a Champions League game against Manchester United.” Francisco looked at the joyful Schuster and said, ”We must learn from Barcelona’s lesson and carefully consider Chen’s arrangements.”

There was a point in Barcelona’s just-concluded match that was criticized by fans and commentators.

It was their handling of Bojan.

This player was recently hyped up as a genius, like Chen Zhong, who joined the first team this season, but their performances are worlds apart.

And in this game, Rijkaard oddly persisted in letting Bojan play in recent matches, resulting in Bojan clearly appearing tired.

Of course, now Barcelona’s situation is even worse, with only 8 rounds left in the league, Real Madrid only needs to win this match to almost ensure the league championship.

And the only chance Barcelona can fight for is to defeat Real Madrid in the upcoming match at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium.

”Chen?”

Chen Zhong’s performance easily makes people forget he’s just a 16-year-old kid.

Thinking about Chen Zhong’s fatigue in the last game, and the bruises found during the off-field examination, Schuster hesitated for a moment but made a decision.

”For the match against Sevilla, we can have Chen as a substitute.”

”Substitute?” Francisco glanced at Schuster, and after contemplating for a moment, agreed with Schuster’s suggestion, as the team has repeatedly lost matches without Chen Zhong.

And at that time, if Chen Zhong had been on the bench, the result might have been entirely different.

The time quickly progressed to the end of March, and this league match was Real Madrid’s last game of March, with Manchester United’s challenge looming in early April.

Chen Zhong sat on the bench, watching the match unfold from the sidelines.

Sevilla undoubtedly did not predict that Chen Zhong would be a substitute in this match.

You know, before the match, their star forward, last year’s Ballon d’Or candidate Kanoute even issued a challenge to Chen Zhong from afar, wanting to give him a good fight.

Who would have imagined that Chen Zhong wouldn’t play at all?

The first half ended with the teams tied at 1:1.

Heinze and Sneijder combined for a free kick, and Heinze headed the ball into the goal, celebrating wildly. This was his first goal in La Liga, also his first for Real Madrid, marking his first goal in 13 months.

However, success came from Heinze, as did failure.

In the 42nd minute of the match, Sevilla also took advantage of a free kick opportunity to break through Real Madrid’s goal, as Real Madrid’s defense tried to create an offside, but Heinze was too far back, causing the offside attempt to fail.

Kanoute carried the ball in front of the goal and shot low to score.

After scoring, he specifically ran to Real Madrid’s section, shouting at bench-seated Chen Zhong, clearly still holding a grudge from a disturbance caused by Chen Zhong earlier.

To this, Chen Zhong could only say two words: ”Sick.”

In the second half, Schuster indeed considered whether to send Chen Zhong onto the field, but Raul’s two consecutive goals dispelled Schuster’s intention.

The final score was fixed at 3:1.

Real Madrid defeated Sevilla at home.

This also ended the embarrassment of not being able to win against stronger teams since the beginning of 2008, and set a positive prelude for the upcoming Champions League match against Manchester United.

Post-match, the media analyzed Real Madrid’s game, decisively bringing up Barcelona to criticize, suggesting that Barcelona’s defeat allowed Real Madrid a more relaxed mindset to face Sevilla, leading to one of the most spectacular matches of the season.

And at the Bernabeu, even though Chen Zhong didn’t play, with Barcelona losing and the team winning, it was enough for Real Madrid fans to celebrate heartily.

After all, after losing to Valencia before, they were heavily ”tormented” by the media, claiming if Real Madrid loses to Sevilla at home, the team might not retain the title this season, that Real Madrid hardly won any strong teams post-2008, that against Sevilla they have almost won nothing in the past three seasons.

Whatever Schuster-led Real Madrid’s inability to handle pressure.

These combined factors ultimately resulted in such excitement from Real Madrid fans in the stands.

Moreover, speaking of performance, in this match Heinze delivered his first goal at the Bernabeu, and he also blocked Fabiano’s seemingly sure-shot from close range, despite one mistake in offside creation, it was negligible.
