I Am Scouted by Real Madrid

Chapter 174: Chapter 61: How Does Chen’s Brain Work? (Part 2)

After Baptista got the ball, Real Madrid launched their attack again.

The Brazilian took two steps forward with the ball, then tapped it, sending it to Chen Zhong’s feet.

Baptista’s decision also struck a chord with the fans watching the game.

[What, did he pass it directly to Chen?]

[At the beginning of the season, I remember it always went to Sneijder or Guti.]

[Guti is not far away! The point is, did you see Guti’s expression? He doesn’t seem to mind.]

[Is Chen Zhong now the team’s midfield commander? He’s only 16! And there’s still Guti, the Wolf King, on the field!]

[At first, I thought Chen was just Guti’s bodyguard, but now I think I was wrong, and really wrong at that.]

...

Fans on the internet were in heated discussions, with many believing this match would be the moment of the Golden Wolf’s return to the peak. But watching the match play out, they realized that the Golden Wolf was not the absolute protagonist of the midfield; it was Chen Zhong.

All the balls were first passed to Chen Zhong, who then distributed them.

Villarreal tried to handle Chen Zhong as they did Guti, but they simply couldn’t take the ball off Chen Zhong easily.

Chen Zhong and Baptista performed two consecutive one-two passes, and on the third attempt, Chen Zhong protected the ball and noticed Guti was open.

He spread his arms, leaned back slightly, while Baptista was waving up front. Villarreal’s players, driven by habit, focused their attention there.

At that critical moment, Chen Zhong stepped on the ball and dragged it back forcefully.

The ball slipped through the legs of the defensive player behind him.

He quickly turned to get the ball, but this time it was Chen Zhong’s turn to defend.

The hands that were previously defending transformed into a tugging stance, then quickly squeezed the nearby Villarreal players, and with a direct pass sent the ball to the unmarked Guti.

Guti, with his white headband still tied around his head, looked at Chen Zhong. This time Chen Zhong could clearly feel that Guti was looking at him.

When the ball came to Guti’s feet, he passed it powerfully.

”A series of one-two passes.”

”Beautiful.”

”Chen Zhong nutmegs the defender.”

”Wow, his body.”

”Passes to Guti.”

”Pass again!”

”Through ball!”

”Beautiful!!!!”

”An absolute chance.”

Guti’s vision seemed like a cheat code, his passes were just as precise as a surgical knife, once again slicing through Villarreal’s defense and precisely striking at Villarreal’s heart.

The Real Madrid players, who had long smelled the opportunity, quickly went for the ball.

Robinho was fast, but Van Nistelrooy was closer.

Both of them wanted to score, Robinho aiming for a brace, Van Nistelrooy wanting to finish decisively. The result was that both of them fell on their way to the spot.

”Ahhh!”

”A very unfortunate attack.”

”Chen Zhong’s vision is very broad, and bold too.”

”He passed the ball to Guti, and Guti’s through ball pierced the opponent’s defense.”

”But Robinho and Van Nistelrooy, who went for the spot, ended up hindering each other. Both of them stumbled in front of the penalty area.”

”Diego Lopez advanced and easily collected the ball.”

”This scene is a bit ridiculous.”

Schuster almost jumped up when he saw Guti’s pass, but seeing Robinho trip Van Nistelrooy, who then pulled Robinho as he fell, causing both to hit the ground, made his whole demeanor turn warm.

”What are they doing?”

”What do they intend to do?”

Schuster paced back and forth on the sidelines, eyes seemingly wanting to devour those two embarrassing guys.

When two strong teams face off, it’s about who creates more opportunities, who can seize the opportunities better, and who makes fewer mistakes.

The actions of those two are...

Just feels amateurish...

Chen Zhong and Guti were both speechless seeing this situation, especially Guti.

His pass was intended for Van Nistelrooy, but who would’ve thought that the usually lazy Robinho would be so enthusiastic this match, like a frolicking husky.

This minor incident indeed dropped Real Madrid’s morale significantly. Robinho and Van Nistelrooy’s actions really dampened the team’s spirit.

Conversely, Villarreal’s morale surged.

”This is really rare.”

”Let’s take a look at the replay.”

”Robinho tripped Van Nistelrooy.”

”Van Nistelrooy tugged at the person who tripped him.”

”The two probably didn’t do it on purpose. Robinho didn’t notice Van Nistelrooy on the side and his raised foot tripped him, Van Nistelrooy had eyes only for the ball, thinking it was a defensive player.”

”We can even see Van Nistelrooy still asking the referee for a penalty after he fell!”

”Villarreal’s attack.”

”Nihat took the ball and broke away from Guti. He passed it to Rossi.”

”The former Manchester United forward picked up the ball at the edge of the penalty area.”

”Cannavaro is here.”

Chen Zhong took his position and looked at Cannavaro. As a Ballon d’Or defender, Cannavaro’s skills were unquestionable. He approached Rossi immediately, but Rossi’s movements were very nimble.

At the edge of the penalty area, Rossi feigned and moved past Cannavaro.

Cannavaro wasn’t flustered, as he only got slightly faked out. Once stable, he would stick close to Rossi, but Rossi was skilled and daring. He noticed where Casillas was positioned, always ready to intervene.

So without any hesitation, Rossi side-footed a left-foot curler even before finding his footing properly.

The ball followed an arc, skirting beyond Casillas’s fingertips and plunged straight into the goal net.

The Villarreal fans in the stands shot up instantly, shouting Rossi’s name loudly.

”Rossi!”

”Rossi!”

No one could have imagined that Rossi would be so bold, decisive, and determined from the edge of the penalty area.

”Rossi!”

”Rossi’s goal!”

”In the 17th minute of the match!”

”Rossi deceived Cannavaro at the edge of the penalty area.”

”Then with a left-footed curler, breached Real Madrid’s goal.”

”Casillas could only look on and sigh. His clean sheet record was ended by Rossi.”

”Is this what a genius is?”

”Is this the former Manchester United player Rossi?”

”This is already his ninth league goal this season.”

”He started to realize his talent in La Liga.”

Rossi celebrated exuberantly after scoring, provocatively ran past Chen Zhong, and then led his teammates in yellow jerseys to the corner flag.

He reveled in his celebration, this teenage prodigy was showcasing his full display at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium.

Pellegrini clapped enthusiastically on the sidelines, clapping so hard that he couldn’t help but swing his hands, throwing a few punches in the air.

He glanced at Schuster, with the corners of his mouth involuntarily rising slightly.

Only your team has a genius?

Only you have Chen Zhong?

We also have Rossi, the Italian prodigy Rossi!

After celebrating, Rossi didn’t miss another chance to swagger in front of Chen Zhong when returning to his half, the smugness on his face was visible to anyone.

So what!

This match, Villarreal is bound to win.

I, Rossi, said it.

Marcelo was fuming on the bench, wishing he was on the field now. On the pitch, Chen Zhong gritted his teeth; there was really no excuse for the defensive line.

But...

You idiot, flaunting in front of me.

Isn’t that a bit too much?
