Three Systems Made the Fake Heiress Unstoppable

Chapter 141: Chapter 141: Who Does She Like?

Chloe York woke up very early because she was going to tour the Southbend University campus.

Just as she finished getting ready and came downstairs, she saw Evan Shaw.

”Why are you here so early? You haven’t been waiting long, have you?” Chloe York subconsciously assumed Evan Shaw had been waiting for a long time and started to feel a little embarrassed.

She had set her alarm for 6:00, but she didn’t expect to still be late. ’Did Evan get up at five?’ she wondered.

Was Southbend University that big? Did they need a lot of time to see it all, requiring them to get up early just to finish the tour?

”No, I just got here myself. I haven’t been waiting long, maybe just a few minutes longer than you.”

Of course, he had to get there early. He wanted to get an early start, take Chloe on the campus tour, and ditch Ethan Prescott. If he were any later, Ethan would be awake and would definitely insist on joining them. He had no desire to be Ethan Prescott’s tour guide.

Hearing that he had only been a few minutes early, Chloe York let out a sigh of relief. She would have felt quite bad making someone be her guide and then keeping them waiting for a long time. ”Oh, I see. Shall we head out now?”

”Sure!”

But just as the two of them were about to leave, Ethan Prescott’s voice came from behind them.

”Chloe!”

Ethan Prescott ran up to Chloe York. He had also set an alarm yesterday. Originally, he had planned to set it for 8:00, but then he considered that someone like Evan Shaw might try to pull a fast one and show up very early.

So, he set his alarm for 6:00, but because he lingered in bed for a bit, he ended up getting up a little later.

He hadn’t expected to be right—Evan Shaw really was planning to take Chloe to tour the campus this early.

It was a good thing he’d had that flash of insight. Even though he was exhausted, he’d forced himself to crawl out of bed. Otherwise, Evan Shaw would have really gotten one over on him.

”Prescott, both Chloe and I applied to Southbend University. We’re Southbend students, touring our own campus and getting familiar with it. It doesn’t seem appropriate for you to come along, does it? You should go check out the school you applied to.”

Evan Shaw really didn’t want to see Ethan Prescott. Today was supposed to be a perfect chance for him to be alone with Chloe. Did this leech have to tag along?

Hearing the anger in Evan Shaw’s voice, Ethan Prescott was delighted. He’d actually thought Evan was incapable of getting angry. But look at him now, he was finally pissed.

”Who told you I’m not a Southbend University student? I forgot to mention it, but I chose Southbend too. So, the three of us are going to be classmates, aren’t we?”

”What? You’re saying you applied to Southbend too?” Evan Shaw was stunned. He couldn’t understand why Ethan Prescott would also choose Southbend University!

Seeing Evan Shaw’s stunned expression, Ethan Prescott was very satisfied.

”What, are you surprised? Shocked? If you can apply to Southbend, why can’t I? Besides, Chloe is my fiancée, and I’m her fiancé. Of course we have to go to the same school. It’s the best way to nurture our relationship, right, Chloe?”

Ethan Prescott was in high spirits from seeing Evan Shaw’s frustrated look, and he assumed Chloe York was in a good mood too, so he dragged her into the conversation.

Chloe York didn’t answer Ethan Prescott. Whichever university he went to was none of her business. ”Evan, let’s go get some breakfast. We can start the tour after we eat.”

Chloe York and Evan Shaw walked away side by side, once again ignoring Ethan Prescott.

But Ethan Prescott didn’t care in the slightest. He had just seen Evan Shaw’s thwarted expression, and for the very first time at that.

’It’s progress,’ he thought. He was confident that he would be able to frustrate Evan Shaw again and again in the future.

As for Chloe completely ignoring him right now, that was fine too. ’Slow and steady. Given enough time, they would get back to how they used to be.’

Chloe York and Evan Shaw picked a breakfast shop, and Ethan Prescott followed along, completely unfazed by them ignoring him. Whatever they did, he would do.

After breakfast, Evan Shaw brought Chloe York to Southbend University.

Stepping onto the Southbend University campus, Chloe York felt that only now, in this very moment, did it truly feel like she had been reborn.

This was the university she had gotten into on her own merits. This was truly her university.

As she followed Evan Shaw through the Southbend University campus, he pointed things out and explained them to Chloe York the entire way.

If they hadn’t been high school classmates, Chloe York would have really thought Evan Shaw was already a student at Southbend. He seemed to know every single place so clearly.

By the time they had explored most of the ground level of the campus, it was already noon.

Chloe York and Evan Shaw decided to get lunch, planning to tour the upper floors of the buildings afterward.

Unexpectedly, they had only taken a few steps out of the school gate when a group of girls blocked their path.

”You’re the top scorer from the college entrance exams, Chloe York! Right?” one of the girls asked, looking at Chloe York excitedly.

One of them immediately pulled out her phone and started searching for a photo to see if it matched Chloe York.

”That’s me!” Chloe York admitted directly.

”Chloe, I’m a huge fan! Your story is so inspiring.”

”Yeah, we all love you! You made that bet with your head teacher and won, and you even became the top scorer! Our whole class—no, our whole school loves you! We talk about you every day.” The girls were so excited they grabbed Chloe York’s hands.

”That’s right, Chloe! You’re our role model. With you leading the way, we believe we can definitely get into a good university too.”

”It’s my honor to be able to give you confidence. I hope you all get into the universities of your dreams.”

”Thank you for your well wishes, Chloe.”

”You’re welcome!”

”Can we take a picture with you?” one of the girls asked cautiously.

After all, while Chloe York wasn’t a celebrity, she was the top scorer of the college entrance exams!

Getting a photo with the top scorer might let some of her good luck rub off on them, and maybe they could get into a good university too.

”Of course!” Chloe York didn’t mind at all. Since they wanted a photo with her, she was naturally willing to oblige.

”I can take the picture for you!” Hearing that the girls wanted a photo with Chloe and that Chloe had agreed, Evan Shaw immediately volunteered to act as the photographer.

This way, he could also make a good impression on Chloe York.

”I can do it too,” Ethan Prescott chimed in immediately, seeing how eager Evan Shaw was.

’I’m not about to be outdone by Evan Shaw,’ he thought. ’I can’t believe this guy is so clever. He’s actually so proactive, thinking of ways to make a good impression on Chloe York.’

The girls looked at Ethan Prescott, then at Evan Shaw, and then back at Chloe York. Understanding dawned, and their expressions turned a little suggestive.

”Miss, I think you should pick the one in the white shirt.”

Chloe looked in the direction the girl indicated and saw it was Evan Shaw.

”No, no, no, I think the one in the black shirt is better. You can tell he’s a young master at a glance.”

”The one in the white shirt looks like a noble young master too, okay?”

The girls started to bicker. Chloe York was exasperated. Because they were trying to take a picture, Ethan Prescott and Evan Shaw were standing a bit farther away.

Both men were focused on finding the right angle, and since the girls were speaking softly, neither of them heard the conversation.
