Three Systems Made the Fake Heiress Unstoppable

Chapter 120: Chapter 120: Brooke York Is Mocked

”I saw her go into Exam Room 16! But it looked like she was the first one to leave,” Clara Bell replied. ”I had my own test, so I couldn’t really keep an eye on Chloe York. But I did see her go in, since I was in Exam Room 17. I watched her enter Room 16, and I also saw her leave after the exam ended.”

Hearing that Chloe York was the first to come out, Brooke York, who was also taking the college entrance exam for the first time, assumed that Chloe must have been asked to leave the classroom after discovering her admission ticket was invalid.

”Brooke, are you okay?” Clara Bell asked, seeing that Brooke York was silent.

”What could possibly be wrong?”

”You came to school in your dad’s car this morning, right? That’s so nice. Not like us, we had to take the bus.”

”You can’t compare people.”

She seemed to have regained her confidence. In contrast to her hurried and panicked departure earlier, she now walked away with her head held high, completely ignoring the stares of others and not even caring if she smelled.

’I’m a daughter of the York Family,’ she thought. ’How can these people possibly compare to me? Even if I do smell, it’s a blessing for them to even get a whiff. Besides, there’s a chance Chloe York is just like me now, missing a score for one subject. How could that not make me happy!’

The moment Brooke York left, Clara Bell breathed a sigh of relief. ’Brooke was so terrifying just now.’

”Hey, are you from the same school as that girl just now?”

At that moment, a few curious girls came up to Clara Bell to ask. There were students from three different schools taking the exams at this location.

Plus, none of these other people were NPCs who revolved around a main character, so they didn’t recognize Brooke York.

”Yeah, we’re classmates.” ’Any one of these girls could end up being my classmate in college, or they could be the daughters of rich families.’

So Clara Bell knew she couldn’t afford to offend them; in fact, she had to suck up to them. Besides, Brooke York wasn’t here right now, and she was already acting a little unhinged. She probably couldn’t win against Chloe York anymore. Clara needed to find someone new who could help her. She had to have a backup plan and not rely solely on Brooke York.

”What’s with her?”

”Yeah, she smelled awful. And the way she was talking... it seemed like she’s...” The girl trailed off, tapping her temple, ”...a little off.”

Clara Bell smiled. ”You shouldn’t say that. She’s a daughter of the York Family. You know the Yorks, right? The president of the York Group is her dad!”

Clara Bell said this deliberately. She wanted to see if these girls recognized the York Family, and if they might reveal their own identities.

”What? That’s not what the York family’s daughter looks like. I remember her being very pretty.”

Sure enough, one of the girls said exactly what Clara Bell wanted to hear.

Clara Bell immediately focused on the girl. Although she was wearing a simple school uniform, her overall aura showed that her family was definitely quite wealthy.

And she was wearing the latest model of an Ebel watch, a piece worth over a million.

”Well, it’s a long story. Why don’t we find a boba shop and I can tell you all about it over some drinks?”

”Sure!”

The group of girls left together.

「The next day」

”Brooke, how are you today?” Alice Cole checked on Brooke York first thing the next morning.

Yesterday afternoon, after composing herself, she had eaten something and gone to bed. By the time she woke up, it was already past 11 p.m.

She had asked the maids, who told her that Brooke York had returned around six-something, had a bite to eat, and then went back to her room.

It was too late to disturb Brooke then, so she had gotten up early today to check on her.

”Whatever.” Brooke York didn’t want to talk much to Alice Cole. She sat at the dining table, eating her breakfast in silence.

Alice Cole could see that Brooke York was in a bad mood, so she didn’t say anything more. Miles York wasn’t home for breakfast either; he had left early. So it was just the two of them eating.

After breakfast, Brooke York prepared to go take the rest of her exams. In reality, she had already missed one subject, so becoming the top scorer in the college entrance exam was impossible for her now.

She might not even get into university, but right now, she seemed to be running on a single, stubborn obsession that was forcing her to go and finish the remaining subjects.

”Brooke, maybe... you shouldn’t go?” Alice Cole finally said, just as Brooke York was about to step out the door.

’I was thinking about it last night,’ she thought. ’Since she’s already missed one subject, it might be better for her to just repeat the year. That would be better than getting all her scores back only to have a total so low it would be even more humiliating.’

’Besides, Brooke still looks pale. She definitely won’t be able to concentrate on the test papers.’

Almost as soon as the words left Alice Cole’s mouth, Brooke York’s steps came to a sudden halt. She turned around slowly, her expression already twisted.

When Alice Cole saw Brooke York’s expression, her heart sank. ’Did I say the wrong thing?’

Right now, Brooke York looked as if she’d been dealt a heavy blow. Her face was deathly pale, as if she could faint at any moment.

”Why shouldn’t I go? On what basis should I not go? Chloe York also didn’t take the first exam. Neither did I. Why can she go, but I can’t?” Brooke York stared at Alice Cole, her voice unnervingly calm as she asked.

The words Alice Cole wanted to say got stuck in her throat. Seeing Brooke York like this, she couldn’t bring herself to say them.

”Say it!” Brooke York suddenly roared.

Alice Cole flinched, startled by her sudden shout. ”Uh, Brooke, calm down. Don’t get so worked up. Mom didn’t mean anything by it. I was just worried you were too tired.”

”I’m not tired! I’m not tired! I’m not tired! Shut up! You need to shut up! You can’t tell me not to take the exam!”

Brooke York’s sudden, frantic shouting immediately drew the maids out.

Seeing this scene, they all stood frozen in place, stunned. In front of the maids, Brooke York had always maintained the gentle and sensible demeanor of a well-bred lady.

This was the first time she had ever acted like a madwoman in front of them, which was why the maids were so shocked—so shocked they were rooted to the spot.

”What are you standing there for? Don’t you have work to do? If you don’t want to work, you can get out,” Alice Cole yelled at the maids.

The maids snapped out of it and hurried away. Seeing that they were gone, Alice Cole tried to soothe Brooke York. ”Okay, okay, I won’t say it. Brooke, I’ll never say anything like that again, alright?”

Brooke York was panting. After hearing Alice Cole’s promise, she said nothing and just turned and left.

Watching Brooke York leave with her backpack on, Alice Cole felt an indescribable anguish.

’This was all Chloe York’s fault. If it weren’t for her, my daughter would never have ended up like this.’

Suddenly recalling what had happened yesterday morning, Alice Cole immediately went back to her room, took out her laptop, and started reviewing the villa’s security footage.
