Chapter 199: Chapter 199 Where is Zhang Meng【Please favorite, please recommend】

Back at home, Zhang Meng, who usually stood guard at the door all the time, was nowhere to be seen.

”Where is Zhang Meng?”

Lu Xiaobu was taken aback: ”Zhang Meng usually doesn’t go out!”

”Perhaps he went out with Uncle Lu and the others, I see Uncle Lu’s car is also not here.”

Liang Lan looked at the garage and said.

When she’s not here, many things have to be handled by Brother Lu and Uncle Lu together.

She guessed they must have been very busy while she followed Young Master out!

”Yeah, possibly.”

Lu Xiaobu nodded his head in agreement.

Indeed, if Brother and Second Brother were not around, there was no need for Zhang Meng to stay at home.

”Then Young Master, I’ll go get things ready for League of Heroes, quickly get the game launched.” Liang Lan took a sip of water and immediately added, ”And also check on the current situation of our businesses.”

”Go ahead, go ahead.”

Lu Xiaobu yawned and said.

With Liang Lan around, these things never required his worry.

Comfortable!

”Well then, I’m off.”

Liang Lan left the villa in a hurry to get busy.

”Xiaobu, I’m going home to check.”

Wu Qianmin also said goodbye, it was time for her to go home and report back after being out for a few days.

”Go ahead.”

Lu Xiaobu waved another goodbye.

”I’m off to check if the things we bought have arrived.”

Lu Xiaobu thought the fiery girl might stay.

But the fiery girl also left.

They bought a lot of stuff from America, including many luxury items which had difficult approval processes.

So, they asked Zhang Baijun to help ship them back.

Naturally, Zhang Baijun willingly promised, assuring a quick delivery.

”Alright, alright, go on.”

Lu Xiaobu rolled his eyes.

Well, not one person was left.

As everyone left, Lu Xiaobu felt tired too and went upstairs to sleep, also to adjust to the time difference.

...

Time moved on to the evening.

Lu Xiaobu was watching TV.

The Lu family came back home.

”Xiaobu, you’re back!”

Lu Hongbin was the first to walk in, came over to Lu Xiaobu, looked him up and down, comparing their height, pinching his arms.

”Big Brother, what’s this? Are you prepping for the New Year, planning to butcher me for meat or something?”

Lu Xiaobu helplessly let him be.

”Nonsense, what are you talking about. You think you’re a New Year pig!”

Lu Hongbin laughed and scolded: ”You rascal, it’s your first time going far away since you were little, and it was so sudden without any notice, do you know how worried we were?”

Lu Wenhao also came over and gave Lu Xiaobu a knock on the head: ”Not even a phone call. Do you know how worried dad was?”

”Hey, be gentle.” Mr. Lu frowned immediately: ”Be careful or I’ll hit you.”

”Alright, alright, my fault.”

Lu Wenhao raised his hands in surrender: ”Trying to vent for you, and even that was wrong, not to mention who was grumbling every night wanting to spank Xiaobu.”

”Uh... no way!”

Lu Xiaobu quickly stepped back: ”I’m too old for a spanking! Too humiliating!”

”Alright, I didn’t say I’d spank you.” Mr. Lu rolled his eyes: ”Stand properly, let me have a look.”

”Uh... alright, my fault. Go ahead and check!”

Lu Xiaobu bowed his head acknowledging his mistake.

He indeed hadn’t considered everything thoroughly.

He just left impulsively.

Without considering how his family might feel.

Mainly, he forgot what his health was like before.

Back then, even going to the city required approval, let alone going abroad which was totally out of the question.

This time was truly a record-breaking event!

”Alright, not bad, seems a bit tanned.”

Mr. Lu patted Lu Xiaobu’s head: ”You probably didn’t eat well there. Come, I’ll cook myself, let’s have a good meal together.”

”Alright, the food over there really isn’t tasty.”

Lu Xiaobu nodded.

Far in America, working to the bone for Lu Xiaobu and catching a cold, Zhang Baijun heavily sneezed: ”Who’s talking about me!?”

”Big brother, where are you guys going?”

Lu Xiaobu asked.

”We, we are going to propose a marriage for big brother.”

Lu Wenhuo didn’t wait for Lu Hongbin to answer and immediately jumped in.

”Oh!”

Lu Xiaobu then let out a meaningful sound.

”Oh my arse! And you, Lu Wenhuo, always so talkative!”

Lu Hongbin’s face turned red, his head swelling.

”Alright, alright, let’s not talk about this. What about Zhang Meng? Has he not returned yet?!”

Lu Xiaobu looked towards the entrance and spoke.

Zhang Meng should have come in by now, even if he was just parking!

He was still waiting to hand over the ”True Martial Technique” to Zhang Meng.

”Zhang Meng?! He didn’t go with us.”

Lu Hongbin was stunned for a moment, then laughed: ”You didn’t know, right? Zhang Meng is ultimately your man; we are not used to communicating with him. Later, I heard his mother was in the hospital, so I let him go back to be with his mother. However, he still comes over twice every day to check in.”

”Oh?!”

Lu Xiaobu nodded, showing understanding.

After all, the lives of big brother, second brother, and dad are mostly fixed.

Unlike him, who lives a carefree life, Zhang Meng really didn’t need to follow him around 24/7.

However, for some reason, he felt an inexplicable sense of eeriness.

So, he asked one more question: ”He comes every day?”

”In the past few days, he came every day, just not yesterday and today, perhaps he’s been busy.”

Lu Hongbin said nonchalantly.

”Uh?”

Lu Xiaobu’s brows furrowed deeply.

Such irresponsibility and impetuous behavior didn’t seem like Zhang Meng!

Could something have happened with his mother?

”Dad, I’m not eating, I’m going out for a bit.”

Thinking of this, Lu Xiaobu lost his appetite.

”Where are you going? You just got back.”

Lu’s father asked as he walked out of the kitchen holding a spoon.

”I’m going to check on Zhang Meng’s mother, to see if something happened.”

Lu Xiaobu said while putting on his shoes.

”Oh, okay, take care. Drive slowly, and if everything is okay, call them all back for dinner.”

Upon hearing this, Lu’s father immediately agreed.

”Alright.” Lu Xiaobu responded.

Li Jin watched this scene quietly, feeling very content— what moves people the most are not the grand gestures, but these small moments of concern.

It was because of such a Young Master that he and the instructor chose to devote their lives and faith to the Young Master!

...

Li Jin drove the car, taking Lu Xiaobu to the hospital.

They arrived at Zhang Meng’s mother’s ward.

”Benefactor, you’re here!”

Seeing Lu Xiaobu, Zhang Meng’s mother immediately got out of bed.

”Auntie, please lie down, lie down.”

Lu Xiaobu quickly said.

”It’s okay, my body is remarkably robust now. The doctor said he has never seen anyone recover as well as I have.”

Zhang’s mother was still so hearty.

She refused to lie down and even grabbed an apple to peel for Lu Xiaobu.

How could she lie down when their entire family’s lives were saved by Lu Xiaobu?

Zhang’s mother was very happy, but Lu Xiaobu’s brows were getting tighter!

This ward showed no signs of Zhang Meng being there.

This meant that the claim of Zhang Meng being with his mother was a lie.

So the question arises, why?

Why would Zhang Meng, a filial son and a loyal retainer, choose to deceive both his mother and Lu Hongbin simultaneously?

The unease in Lu Xiaobu’s heart grew stronger!
