Prodigal System in the Flourishing City

Chapter 186: Chapter 186: Unspoken Rules of the Gaming Industry? [Extra Update for Moji Liangliang’s 10,000 Rewards]

After playing for a day, it was finally time to get down to business.

Liang Lan, after understanding Lu Xiaobu’s needs and collecting the information, presented two options.

”Young Master, there are these two companies that meet your requirements.”

Liang Lan reported from the side:

”The first company is called Mechanical Company, they are an old game company, but their only drawback is that the games they develop are always lukewarm. In summary, the company is experienced, but somewhat lacking in the gaming aspect!”

”The second company is called Wrist Strength Company, a newly established company with no notable projects yet, but their team originally developed competitive games, which matches your requirements, Young Master. Unlike the first one, although they have rich experience in competitive games, they lack company experience.”

Lu Xiaobu nodded: ”Each has its pros and cons, Sister Lan, which one do you lean toward?”

”I am more inclined towards the first one, although they lack some experience in competitive games, they have a solid foundation, and comparatively, they should be able to make up for it quickly,” Liang Lan objectively analyzed.

”That makes sense, let’s go take a look.”

Lu Xiaobu stroked his chin.

...

Communications, understanding, testing.

Lu Xiaobu visited the company and felt quite satisfied.

Finally, they sat down at a negotiation table!

Liang Lan was communicating with the other party.

Lu Xiaobu, who couldn’t understand English and didn’t want to listen even if he could, played with his phone on the side.

The discussion between the parties seemed to become more intense, as if they were on the verge of violence.

Li Jin, who was on the side, couldn’t help but be amazed—business is indeed like a battlefield, the hostility is almost palpable!

”Phew! Let’s pause! I need to discuss with our boss.”

Liang Lan asked for a pause.

The other party agreed, indicating they also needed to discuss.

”What’s the matter?” Lu Xiaobu looked up and asked.

”The other party is asking us to invest ten billion to obtain forty-nine percent of the shares, but they do not allow us to participate in managing the company,” Liang Lan explained. ”Even if we offer more money, it’s not acceptable to them.”

”Hmm?”

Lu Xiaobu frowned: ”They’d rather receive less money than let us be involved in managing the company? What’s the reason?”

Liang Lan hesitated, unsure whether to say it.

”Say it.”

Lu Xiaobu rolled his eyes.

”Alright, Young Master, please don’t be angry, this is just business talk, nothing else,” Liang Lan prefaced.

”Go on.”

Lu Xiaobu nodded.

”They said they don’t want to work for people from the Heavenly Dynasty, it would be embarrassing among their peers.”

Liang Lan said as gently as she could.

”Bang!”

Lu Xiaobu slammed his hand on the table: ”Screw that! No more talks!”

Not wanting to work for the people from the Heavenly Dynasty?

You guys can’t even if you want to now!

When my ’lol’ comes out, let’s see you regret this!

Liang Lan slapped her forehead, she just knew it!

This was why she didn’t want to reveal their reason!

And, Young Master, didn’t you promise not to get angry?

It’s not fair to go back on your word so quickly!

But no matter what, Liang Lan could only follow the furious Young Master out.

As they reached the door.

The negotiator, Smith, was taken aback: ”Ms. Liang Lan, what is this about?”

”Our Young Master doesn’t want to talk anymore,” Liang Lan explained with a bitter smile.

”What? Why?”

Smith was baffled, why end the talks so suddenly?

”Our Young Master dislikes your reason of not wanting to work for the Heavenly Dynasty people,” Liang Lan told the truth.

”Oh, sorry to speak bluntly, but your boss is being unreasonable, this is a commonly accepted thing in our American game industry, how can you give up just because of that?” Smith showed disdain.

”Please speak with respect!”

Liang Lan’s expression darkened.

You can criticize other things, but questioning the Young Master? Do you have the right?

”If I offended you, I apologize, but I was just telling the truth, your boss is being capricious, hopelessly so.”

Smith spread his hands.

In foreign countries, ’sorry’ and ’thank you’ are just their pet phrases and don’t convey any real emotion.

So, from start to finish, there was no apology, just full of disdain!

Just like their previous reason—they look down on the Heavenly Dynasty people and don’t want to work for them!

Lu Xiaobu’s face darkened on the spot, although he didn’t understand the conversation, he could sense the change in Liang Lan’s tone!

Making Liang Lan angry definitely means it wasn’t anything pleasant!

So!

He stood his ground, turned around, and gave the middle finger, the classic Chinese curse: ”CNM! Foreigners, I’ll remember you. Just wait until I finish my game. I’ll make you kneel and call me daddy!”

”What!”

Smith was instantly furious!

Although he didn’t understand the Chinese curse, he could still recognize that universally understood gesture!

”Sister Lan, tell him exactly what I said!”

Lu Xiaobu was unabashed.

Cursing you is exactly what I’m doing!

Liang Lan was relatively more tactful, considering a girl shouldn’t be too rude.

So!

”Damn, our Young Master says, once our game is finished, you’ll kneel down and be his grandson!”

Well, that’s pretty tactful!

Very tactful!

”Fuck!”

Smith exploded on the spot!

He roared: ”Damn Heavenly Dynasty people, this is America, not your Heavenly Dynasty! Be careful with your words!”

Lu Xiaobu sneered.

He raised his second middle finger!

Everything was said without words!

”Fuck! Fuck! Fuck!”

Smith, like a crazed gorilla, roared, ”Ignorant people of the Heavenly Dynasty, I will show you what gaming is! Remember, this is America, not your Heavenly Dynasty that can’t even make games! You want to make games, huh? I’ll be waiting for you!”

”Humph! Just wait and see!”

Lu Xiaobu sneered and took a large stride into the elevator to leave.

Watching Lu Xiaobu leave, Smith clenched his teeth and roared: ”Work at full capacity, agree to the previous financing from Love God Company, I want the game to completely conquer this person from the Heavenly Dynasty! Tell them what a real game is!”

...

Leaving Mechanical Company.

”Let’s go to that Wrist Strength place.”

Lu Xiaobu said with a firm voice.

They directly arrived at Wrist Strength Company.

The rather simplistic leaders of Wrist Strength Company expressed a cordial welcome.

”Sister Lan, translate, ask them how much money they want?”

Lu Xiaobu didn’t want to dawdle!

Liang Lan sighed internally, knowing Lu Xiaobu was angry, and translated precisely.

”Oh, my God.”

The head of Wrist Strength, Green, was dumbfounded.

Not a usual way to negotiate.

But since the other party had made their stance clear, he could only reply: ”We want 300 million RMB, and you will hold 49% of the shares.”

This price point immediately showed the difference between Wrist Strength Company and the previous Mechanical Company!

After hearing Liang Lan’s translation, Lu Xiaobu knew in his heart, it seems this company is also a joke!

But!

”1 billion! 99% of the shares.”

Lu Xiaobu smacked down the money directly!

”My God!”

Green was panicked!

billion?!

Is this how you negotiate?

He wanted 300 million, and the other party straight up offered 1 billion?!

That’s more than three times!

But, he hesitated!

After all, he knew the unspoken rules of the gaming industry.

”1.5 billion, still for 99%!”

Lu Xiaobu didn’t want to wait for their consideration!

”Oh, hello boss!”

Green’s scales immediately tipped!

Screw the damn rules, let them go to hell!

”Very good!”

Lu Xiaobu narrowed his eyes, ready to come out and laugh—LOL!

Let this world raise its hands to welcome your arrival!
