Prodigal System in the Flourishing City

Chapter 99: Chapter 99 Flexible Work [Please Collect, Please Recommend]

”Mr. Tian, let’s have a talk.”

Liang Lan said to Tian Xuning.

”Okay.”

Tian Xuning was perceptive and knew that Liang Lan was Lu Xiaobu’s Finance Minister, so he immediately nodded in agreement.

The negotiation went smoothly. Tian Xuning had the company and the personnel, while Lu Xiaobu had the money and Jueying. It was a perfect match.

In the end, after discussion, Lu Xiaobu invested money and took 72% of the company’s shares, gaining absolute control over the company, including a veto power.

To put it simply, from now on, the company belonged to the Lu family!

Tian Xuning was still responsible for the daily operations of the company.

After reporting to Lu Xiaobu, he began to announce the new benefits policy.

”Starting today, you are all my employees, and the first order of business is that everyone’s salary will double,” Lu Xiaobu said, stroking his chin.

The programmers looked at each other and burst into wild joy!

”Yeah, thank you, Young Master Bu!”

”Long live Young Master Bu! Long live!”

”Young Master Bu is so generous!”

”Is that for real?”

”Old Li, when has Young Master Bu ever lied?”

”...”

”Huh?” Tian Xuning was utterly bewildered.

Um... doubling the salary?

Nothing has been done yet, and salaries are already doubling?

Their current salaries were the average in the IT industry, but now doubled, everyone would be making twenty thousand!

”The second order of business, abolish the overtime system. Work from nine to five, clock in for work, but no penalties for being late or leaving early. Flexible working hours,” Lu Xiaobu continued.

The whole company erupted!

”Really? No more overtime?”

”That’s great, that’s great! I finally have time to spend with my wife!”

”Awesome, Young Master Bu is such a good person! Sleep until we naturally wake up!”

”...”

”Um...” Tian Xuning felt a numbing sensation in his hands.

He hurriedly said to Liang Lan, ”Miss Liang, shouldn’t you persuade the Young Master? Doubling the salary was already crazy enough, and now, abolishing overtime?! Nine to five?! Flexible work?!”

”With that, how long will it take to complete a task? You know they work overtime every day, I watch them every day, and can’t drive up efficiency.”

”This is something you’ll have to get used to,” Liang Lan seriously said. ”Otherwise, you might go crazy eventually.”

Young Master Bu’s grand gestures were not new; she had taken an hour every night to analyze his seemingly profligate actions, discovering something new each day!

Now, in her heart, Young Master Bu was akin to a Heavenly God!

”I...”

Tian Xuning was on the verge of tears.

Why did he feel like he boarded a bandit ship?

He really couldn’t believe that efficiency could be maintained under such a system.

Probably everyone would just slack off and idle.

But it wasn’t over yet.

Lu Xiaobu: ”One paid leave day every month.”

”Young Master Bu is unbeatable!”

”Young Master Bu is awesome!”

”...”

From scattered slogans, the office turned into collective chants!

Lu Xiaobu nodded in satisfaction: ”From today onwards, our company’s philosophy changes to one—result-oriented. As long as you do well, you can do whatever you want, as long as the work is completed. Play when you should, drink when you should. Of course, the premise is not to mess around.”

”Young Master Bu, so cool!”

Old Zhang, who just shouted, was nearly hoarse.

Just ten minutes ago, their only wish was to not work overtime.

And ten minutes later, not only was that wish fulfilled.

But their salaries doubled!?

Nine to five!?

No recording of lateness or early departure!?

Flexible working hours!?

Paid vacation!?

These benefits, they wouldn’t even dare to dream about them before!

And now, they’ve all been implemented at once!

How can they not be grateful to Lu Xiaobu!

How can they not be wholeheartedly devoted to Lu Xiaobu!

”Young Master Bu, just give your orders!”

Old Zhang said excitedly.

Now his lazy attitude has been completely wiped out.

He’s now nothing less than a fearless warrior!

As soon as Young Master Bu gives the command, he’s ready to charge forward fearlessly!

”Yes! Young Master Bu, assign tasks, give your orders!”

Xiaowang also shouted excitedly.

”The first task, go home and sleep. I’m tired even if you’re not, look what time it is.” Lu Xiaobu yawned, waved his hand, and walked away.

”Uh...”

Everyone looked bewildered.

Then all smiled wryly.

They had forgotten that it was already past eight in the evening; accustomed to working overtime, they didn’t even realize it was time to leave work.

...

The next day.

Tian Xuning, out of habit, arrived at the company early at seven in the morning, waiting to see who would be late.

But when he got to the company he remembered that under Young Master Bu’s reforms, the working hours had changed to nine to five.

Thinking about going back, he muttered to himself:

”I might as well go up and see, maybe there are others who came early like me. I could also note down some incidences of employees getting lazy to report back to Young Master Bu.”

Talking to himself, he went upstairs.

To be honest, he really looked down on these so-called reforms and benefits initiated by Lu Xiaobu.

Lazy donkeys produce more dung in the mill, and even when whipped, they still find time to slack off.

Not to mention this flexible working system now, it’s basically free-range; can any work get done in such a state?

He arrived at the office and opened the door.

Sure enough...

There was not a single person.

Usually, Old Zhang would be the first to arrive, but now, just overnight, even Old Zhang had become lazy.

This made him more determined, to talk to Young Master Bu after today and cancel this flexible work system.

Time leisurely moved to eight-thirty.

And then people started showing up, yawning, a few even munching on buns, all in a very leisurely state.

This troubled the notoriously strict Tian Xuning, who watched with a frown and a cold stare.

What made him angriest was that someone didn’t arrive until nine o’clock, actually coming in at 9:05, infuriating him!

Not marking tardiness doesn’t mean you should actually be late!

This work attitude is simply unacceptable!

”Hey, enough is enough. Young Master Bu gave you such good treatment, is it just for you to laze around?”

Tian Xuning couldn’t hold back anymore.

But before he could continue, a task from Lu Xiaobu had been sent to Tian Xuning’s computer by Liang Lan.

”Jueying Live Platform Construction”

The construction specified came from Lu Xiaobu’s recollections of the live streaming platforms on Earth.

Actually, there weren’t many words, just a few requirements.

Like, it should be simple and stylish, have multiple channels, multiple resolutions, have features like tipping, treasure chests, leaderboards, betting functions and so on and so forth.

Even the perspective of writing these things was from that of a viewer.

As for how to actually program it, creating from the viewpoint of a producer, that was now the job of Tian Xuning and his team.

Isn’t this what Lu Xiaobu paid for the company to do!

”I’m telling you, Young Master Bu’s task has arrived!”

Tian Xuning stood up and shouted angrily, ”I’ve already sent you the task requirements, you better handle it yourselves! Let me tell you, if you keep being lazy...”

But just then, something happened before his eyes that made his words fall short, never to be completed.

He was completely dumbfounded!
