Prodigal System in the Flourishing City

Chapter 94: Chapter 94 Go Drink the Northwest Wind [Please Collect, Please Recommend]

Lu Cheng arrived at Antique Street at breakneck speed with a group of other rich second generations.

This was a street located near an elevated road and was easy to overlook.

This Antique Street was a genuine one, not an antique market littered with fakes.

The antiques here were mostly authentic with hefty prices.

Of course, this also meant that the street was sparsely populated, and there weren’t any significant malls or hotels nearby, just a few scattered street stalls.

”Hahaha, awesome! To think this Lu Xiaobu was acting all tough, driving a motorhome, what’s the use? He’s still left to eat dust!”

Lu Cheng stepped out of the car, slammed the door, and burst into laughter.

”What do you think, how long will it take for Lu Xiaobu to get here?”

”This really lets out some steam, Young Master Lu is the real deal.”

”Why don’t we go find a place to have a few drinks first? Just chill and wait for him? There’s not even a decent restaurant around here.”

”...”

Qi Xingdong stepped out of the car and waved his hands, ”Let’s just wait here! Although Lu Xiaobu’s motorhome isn’t fast, when it gets going, it’s not slow either, so he should be here pretty soon.”

”That’s true; if he doesn’t come or can’t find us, our plan will fall through.” Lu Cheng nodded too, ”By the way, are you ready?”

”Everything is prepared,” Qi Xingdong said with a smile. ”Once he arrives, we’ll tease him. I’ll challenge him to a competition of spotting the most valuable antique. If I lose, I’ll give him an antique, but if he loses, he has to give each of us a ’Shadow’ sports car.”

Lu Cheng expressed his concern, ”Just don’t really lose.”

”No worries, I’ve checked everything. The most valuable item here now is a pair of Jade Plates. Lu Xiaobu will surely buy that, but our bet is on the value of a single antique, not a set. So he’s bound to lose!” Qi Xingdong said confidently.

Hearing this, everyone started laughing—the smiles of victors.

However...

Ten minutes later...

”Gurgle!”

A sound of hunger rumbled from Lu Cheng’s stomach.

He looked visibly impatient, ”What the hell is Lu Xiaobu doing? Why hasn’t he arrived?”

The others also started to feel hungry and instinctively glanced towards Qi Xingdong.

They were used to being waited on hand and foot, feasting on delicacies – when had they ever experienced hunger?

”I’ll give him a call and check,” said Qi Xingdong with a sigh, ”Maybe he didn’t speed up at all.”

The phone connected.

Qi Xingdong: ”Hello, Young Master Lu, where are you? We’re all waiting for you.”

”Oh, I’ll be there soon. Your cars are too fast; my motorhome just can’t keep up,” said Lu Xiaobu as he sat in a picturesque park on a beach chair, leisurely holding a plate of cake, eating as he spoke.

”What’s Young Master Lu eating?”

Hearing the sounds of Lu Xiaobu eating, Qi Xingdong couldn’t help but ask.

”I’ve got food inside my motorhome, some cake, caviar cake to be precise, quite tasty. And some red wine. I tell you, this caviar is really good, full and bursting with flavor as soon as you bite... Mmm!”

Lu Xiaobu deliberately smacked his lips as he spoke.

Listening to Lu Xiaobu’s description, the rich second generations almost drooled with envy.

Damn it, they’re here starving while Lu Xiaobu is feasting on caviar?!

Freaking motorhome, what a life!

And they were wondering why they even bothered racing sports cars!

”Gurgle!”

Unable to hold back, Lu Cheng’s stomach growled again, and the sound traveled through the phone to Lu Xiaobu.

”What’s that noise? Someone’s not hungry, are they?” Lu Xiaobu asked with a sly laugh.

”It’s nothing, hurry it up.”

Qi Xingdong quickly hung up the call, unable to bear listening any longer or he too would get hungry!

He looked helplessly at the other rich second generations: ”You heard him, he’ll be here soon.”

The others could only rub their stomachs impatiently while they continued to wait.

Meanwhile...

”Hahaha!”

They all burst out laughing!

Holding their bellies and laughing!

Wu Qianmin: ”Hehe, they’re hungry!”

Zhou Jingyuan: ”Let those guys race ahead, thinking they’ll make us eat dust? Now they’re the ones left chewing the wind!”

Liang Lan: ”Young Master is too naughty!”

Half an hour later.

”Gurgle!”

By now even Qi Xingdong was feeling hungry. Seeing the hungry gazes of the other wealthy generation, he had no choice but to make another phone call.

This time Qi Xingdong’s tone was almost pleading: ”Hello, Young Master Lu, you said it would be quick, right? Why isn’t it here yet?”

”Almost, almost. I made a mistake just now, got a stomachache, and had to use the restroom.”

Lu Xiaobu was dead serious as he made up a story: ”So this time I’m not having caviar. I had a bowl of piping hot noodles just made by the RV kitchen. I heard noodles are good for the stomach. Let me tell you, these noodles are so fragrant. They’ve got char siu, abalone, and...”

”Gurgle!”

The eyes of all the wealthy young adults turned green!

They all knew it was okay to just be hungry!

After all, it had only been half an hour.

They could still bear it!

But when you’re starving, and there’s someone beside you enjoying a feast!

Really, unbearable!

Especially for this group of rich kids who had never suffered hunger since birth!

That contrast and disparity felt even stronger!

”Okay, okay, Young Master Lu, please hurry up.”

Qi Xingdong quickly interrupted him and ended the call!

If he let Lu Xiaobu keep vividly describing the food, this group might just eat him instead!

”Darn it, I can’t take it anymore! I’m going to eat!” Lu Cheng couldn’t stand the hunger anymore!

Even though there were street food vendors nearby, how could he possibly eat from a roadside stall?

”Well, make a choice then, the Jade Plate car race or your stomach,” Qi Xingdong said with a bitter smile. ”We’re all hungry now. Either we all go eat and give up on the Jade Plate race or we all stay and wait for Lu Xiaobu. We simply can’t split up.”

They were all wealthy second-generation kids, not much different in status and identity. If only some of them got privileges, could they still hang out together in the future?

”I...” Lu Cheng was at a loss for words!

What the heck is this situation?!

”I’ll make a call and have food delivered instead. Although it won’t taste as good due to the time it takes, let’s just make do with what we’ve got,” Qi Xingdong sighed. ”It was supposed to be a quick job, and then we could go celebrate. If I knew it would turn out like this, I wouldn’t have suggested racing!”

The others had no choice but to agree!

Lu Cheng’s face turned even greener!

It was he who initiated the race!

He really wanted to slap himself—what the heck was he racing for!

...

Over at Lu Xiaobu’s place!

”Young Master, we’ve spotted a car that seems to be delivering food to Qi Xingdong and the others,” Zhang Meng reported at the park entrance.

”Good, follow it.”

Lu Xiaobu got up and stretched lazily.

A few people got into the car with mischievous smiles and followed the food delivery car.

...

Antique Street!

”Look, the food is here!” Qi Xingdong announced joyfully.

The other wealthy young adults stared eagerly at the delivery car!

Park the car...

Grab the food...

Distribute...

Pick up chopsticks...

After all these steps were finished, just as the rich kids were about to eat—

”Holle, I’m here! Let’s go, enter!” Lu Xiaobu’s RV pulled up right in front of them: ”I don’t have much time, hurry up.”

A group of wealthy young adults...

Holding their chopsticks...

Mouths agape...

Staring at the food in front of them...

Then looking back at Lu Xiaobu...

Tears streaming down their faces!

Again, they darn well couldn’t eat!
