Chapter 66: Chapter 66 I, Feng Lei, Will Never Write Novels Again in This Lifetime [Please Collect, Please Recommend]

Although Lu Xiaobu’s words sounded scary, the group of authors knew he was just playing with them.

After getting over that initial rush, they were not only not afraid, but some were even a bit excited.

After all, editors are their immediate superiors on regular days, whose words were absolute.

But now, they might each get personal guidance from an editor, which was truly blissful.

At this moment, Lu Xiaobu spoke again.

”Of course, everyone knows that we were just having fun just now, but now let’s get serious!”

Lu Xiaobu nodded: ”Aside from the hundred per thousand characters, as long as you complete the tasks, you won’t have to worry about daily meals. Just tell us what you want to eat two hours in advance, and we guarantee it will be delivered to you. And of course, you will stay in the villa, which will be enough for you.”

”Thank you, Young Master Bu!”

The authors cheered all at once.

Just the hundred per thousand characters was already exciting enough!

You should know, that’s an annual income of seven hundred twenty thousand RMB!

And now they even get free food and lodging, how awesome is that!

”Not only that, as long as you complete the tasks, I won’t restrict your personal lives. And each week, each of you will have one opportunity to seek inspiration,” continued Lu Xiaobu.

”What does seeking inspiration mean?” asked Radish, puzzled.

”Like, if you want to write about mountains, or rivers, but can’t find the feel, just tell us in advance, and we can take you to see famous mountains and great rivers,” said Lu Xiaobu nonchalantly.

”Hiss!”

All the authors took a sharp breath, looking at each other.

A dizzy feeling appeared in their heads, as if they were drunk.

What does seeking inspiration mean?

Simply put, it’s like having a trip every week!

On top of the previous annual income of seven hundred twenty thousand RMB, everyone here, without exception, would be earning over a million per year!

Such treatment!

Such enjoyment!

Even an Emperor wouldn’t exchange for it!

If it wasn’t for Young Master Bu in front of them...

If it wasn’t for the five thousand RMB they had already received...

Even with a contract, they would never believe such a pie-in-the-sky deal!

”Alright, the reward part is over, now let’s talk about the punishment,” said Lu Xiaobu.

This statement was like a bucket of cold water, chilling the authors from head to toe.

Yes, such high rewards were definitely not for the lazy.

There must be punishments.

They looked at each other, all bracing for a hefty fine!

”My punishment is quite terrifying!”

Lu Xiaobu looked around, his eyes fierce.

Seeing Lu Xiaobu’s gaze, they all trembled, wishing they could huddle together for warmth!

Could there be more than just a fine?

Lu Xiaobu was pleased with their expression and said ’menacingly’:

”Those who produce less than twenty thousand words a day will only have one meal. Those under ten thousand will only have a piece of bread and a cup of water. Those under five thousand will have nothing to eat. And those without a single word will not be allowed to use the toilet! Of course, if the quality isn’t there, it doesn’t count either!”

”Thump!”

The whole group fell backwards, agonized!

Oh my Young Master!

Is this the terrifying punishment you mentioned?

It’s horrifying!

”Alright, alright, go and do your writing,” said Lu Xiaobu, waving his hand: ”Since we’ve just arrived today, each of you write four thousand words. The twenty thousand word count task starts from tomorrow.”

”Yes!”

The authors immediately saluted and rushed toward the tiny dark room.

They didn’t forget to lift up Fenglei Cooking Wine, who was lying aside.

Lu Family’s living room.

Lu’s father wore a conflicted expression: ”This is actually my first time seeing Xiaobu squandering money! Damn, it really hurts!”

Lu Hongbin nodded quickly, also feeling immense heartache: ”Yes! Yes! It’s terrifying. One million just to read a novel? There are a total of twelve people here! Twelve million a year? Is that just for a few novels?”

Lu Wenhuo curled his lips: ”What’s the use of you feeling heartache? You need to know that Xiaobu doesn’t need to spend our money now. With just his cola factory, he could support another ten or twenty people with ease!”

Lu Hongbin stared at Lu Wenhuo: ”A guy who’s never earned a penny has no right to say such things.”

Lu’s father nodded: ”That’s right, the most useless one now is you, second child. Look at Xiaobu.”

Once the pride of the heavens, descended as the star of literature, now he’s the target of scolding in the Lu Family.

Lu Wenhuo: ”I...”

What a pain, why is it shifting onto him?

He gritted his teeth, just you all wait. Once Li Xide and I perfect the smartphone, let’s see what you’ll say then.

Indeed, Li Xide, who hadn’t shown his face for several days, had been keeping company with Lu Wenhuo, ardently working on perfecting the smartphone.

A techno-emperor and an academic tyrant, both fully prepared not to fly at all, unless to soar into the sky!

...

Including Fenglei Cooking Wine, a total of twelve authors arrived at the tiny dark room.

”Alright, everyone has their own room. Choose by yourselves,” Lu Xiaobu said.

They looked at each other and immediately chose the rooms they desired!

And without any modesty, they carried Fenglei Cooking Wine to the room that no one had taken a fancy to.

”Oh my God! It’s a cherry keyboard, I’ve long seen those big shots using this kind on the internet, I never thought it would actually be here!”

The room occupied by the one who loves hot dry noodles emitted an exclamation of surprise.

For web novel authors, the quality of the computer isn’t all that crucial, but a good keyboard can make typing much more comfortable, and even more geared towards reservation.

Thus, the first concern of the authors was the keyboard!

”Not only that, but there are also black, blue, brown, and red switch types of keyboards placed aside. Young Master Bu has truly considered our individual preferences!”

Radish’s exclamation was no weaker than that of hot dry noodles!

While those two were still exclaiming, the other rooms were already filled with a particular sound.

Click-clack, click-clack!

Pei Pei Shrimp even had the spare breath to speak: ”Stop being shocked, today we still have to type four thousand words! Don’t you guys want to eat?”

”Damn! You guys are fast!”

Hot dry noodles and Radish immediately felt urgency and joined the typing army.

Soon the entire villa was devoid of any other sounds, only the click-clack of typing.

Of course, there was also the only person who had yet to sign a contract, Gong Hui, who was called Fenglei Cooking Wine, and his snoring, having drunk too much.

...

Time came to the evening, after Lu Xiaobu contentedly finished reading everyone’s Chapters, he finally announced it was time for dinner.

Due to the tight schedule today, the authors were not allowed to choose their foods, but instead, exquisite dishes prepared inside the Lu Family’s restaurant were served.

Of course, boiled cabbage in plain water and cola were indispensable.

Good wine and good meals made both the host and guests thoroughly enjoy themselves.

When everyone was at their happiest eating and at their most joyous drinking.

”Eh? Where is this? How did I end up here?”

Gong Hui clutched his head, which was aching unbearably, as he crawled out of bed and, lured by the aroma, made his way close to the dining table.

”Fenglei, you’re awake.” The one who loves hot dry noodles said to Fenglei with flushed cheeks: ”Now that you’re awake, quickly join us in typing.”

As soon as Gong Hui heard those two words ’type’, that string in his brain was immediately struck, and he burst into rage, bellowing:

”Type? Type what?! Let me tell you, writing novels doesn’t make money, there’s only a dead end. I, Fenglei Cooking Wine, will never write novels again in my life.”
