Prodigal System in the Flourishing City

Chapter 59: Chapter 59: Again, Keeping His Word [Seeking Favorites, Seeking Recommendations]

Chen Feiyang was completely dazed.

Wu Qianmin and Liang Lan simply laughed and were moved by just a line or a scene.

Yet, as a director, his imagination was something he was never short of.

Although Lu Xiaobu’s description was severely flawed, even somewhat chaotic at times,

the complete images of the movie still emerged in his mind.

Is this a romance drama?

Yes!

But also, no!

Is this a comedy?

Yes!

Yet, it is also a tragedy!

”Look, that person looks like a dog,” Lu Xiaobu delivered the final line: ”End of the play!”

”Boom!”

That phrase was like a powerful stimulant, piercing straight into the heart, instantly rejuvenating everyone.

”Clap clap clap!”

Explosive applause like thunder echoed in the small private room.

Liang Lan was crying as she clapped: ”Young Master, you are so talented.”

Wu Qianmin also started crying: ”Why do I feel like crying when it was clearly so funny before?”

Lu Hao was exceedingly excited: ”Brilliant, absolutely brilliant!!”

The screenwriter’s head almost touched the ground, bowing almost 180 degrees: ”I’m sorry, Young Master Bu, I was wrong. I am the tasteless one, I am the scum. I sincerely apologize for my earlier words! I’m ready to accept any punishment!”

Chen Feiyang tore up the script he previously treasured and almost fought over: ”Young Master Bu, you are right; my script is trash!”

If outsiders saw this scene, they would definitely go mad.

Director Chen Feiyang admitting his script was trash?!

How could that be possible?

After all, it’s a script that caught the eyes of Director Chen Feiyang!

Was that even a script?

It was practically a treasure trove!

And now, he tore it up with his own hands!

”Young Master Bu, what do you think about letting me direct this film?”

Chen Feiyang made the first move, setting aside his pride. He came up to Lu Xiaobu, fawningly pouring him Coke:

”I have a professional team, full equipment. I promise to produce it beautifully, and you’ll also have veto power; if you’re unsatisfied, we can reshoot anytime!”

Seeing Chen Feiyang’s behavior, everyone in the room was speechless.

You are Chen Feiyang, the celebrated director!

The director who has won heavy awards!

A director whom countless people flatter at the flick of a wrist!

Is it really okay for you to be shameless like this now?

However, Liang Lan secretly nodded.

Leaving this kind of movie to a director like Chen Feiyang was indeed the best choice; she believed it would absolutely turn out to be a perfect ”A Chinese Odyssey.”

When the time comes, she must go to the theater to watch it!

The screenwriter’s face, likewise, filled with anticipation.

He couldn’t remember the last time Director Chen was so eager to film a movie.

Yet, he was confident about securing this film.

After all, their capabilities were not to be underestimated.

Although there were some controversies before, he had humbly apologized.

If Young Master Bu was unsatisfied, he was still prepared to take the punishment.

Even Lu Hao, having already received promise from Lu Xiaobu, had lost the urge to compete.

As a director, he knew better than anyone the consequences if a movie turned out badly.

Now, Director Chen Feiyang was the best choice!

”I won’t give it. I must keep my word; I’ve already promised to Fatso.”

Lu Xiaobu’s statement left everyone shocked, struck by thunder!

Chen Feiyang was almost on the verge of tears.

Keeping his word, damn it, always keeping his word!

His eyes held a deep resent as he stared at Fatso.

He had figured it out; this Fatso was definitely his nemesis!

Just now he asked for a venue, Young Master Bu, and there came a promise kept.

Now he wants the script, Young Master Bu still keeps his word!

Fatso, what kind of dumb luck is this?

But Lu Hao was overwhelmed with joy, his eyes even reddened!

Really! Is he really going to give it to him?!

”Lu Hao ah! *cough cough cough*, you’re a film student too, how about it? Would you be interested in taking me as your mentor?”

Chen Feiyang coughed and said to Lu Hao.

He has to get this movie!

”Really?”

Lu Hao was delighted, being able to take Chen Feiyang as a mentor was something he had always dreamed of!

”Of course it’s true, take a look at this script...” Chen Feiyang slowly said.

”No way!”

This time, contrary to his earlier willingness to give up the venue, Lu Hao was extraordinarily determined: ”This is the script Young Master Bu gave to me.”

”This... look at this...”

Chen Feiyang was eagerly pulling Lu Hao aside and muttered for a long while.

When they came back.

”Young Master Bu, my master and I are going to co-direct this movie, is that okay?”

Lu Hao asked with nervousness on his face.

”Go ahead, what does it matter to me?”

Lu Xiaobu shrugged: ”Just make sure it’s well done. How much investment will it probably need?”

”Ten million!” Chen Feiyang declared resolutely: ”Just ten million, and I can perfectly produce this movie.”

”Ten million? That little?”

Lu Xiaobu was somewhat surprised, even he knew that movie budgets nowadays easily run into hundreds of millions, but now it only needed ten million?

”Yes, only ten million. This time I’ve decided to let go of all the superficial things, focus wholeheartedly, and dedicatedly make a good movie. I have my own team, no extra costs needed.” Chen Feiyang said earnestly, with a fiery passion in his eyes.

”Alright, Sister Lan can give the money.” Lu Xiaobu shrugged indifferently.

A whopping squander of ten million, delightful!

But the scriptwriter aside received a critical hit of ten thousand points!

He originally thought he had already overestimated the importance of ’A Chinese Odyssey’ in Director Chen’s heart, but he underestimated it!

Others may not know, but he knew what this ten million represented.

It meant that Director Chen was going to use all the connections he had made over the years in the entertainment industry in place of money!

Simply put, Director Chen was betting everything on this movie!

If he wins, he achieves fame and sets a benchmark in film history!

If he loses, he ends up in ruins! Everything he has accumulated will be gone!

”Director Chen, you!”

The scriptwriter spoke out, trying to stop all of this from happening.

This approach was clearly irrational!

”Don’t say more, I trust Young Master Bu, and even more, I trust myself!”

Chen Feiyang passionately said: ”This time it will definitely be a win!”

Having said this, he left the private room.

Outside, the patrons were still murmuring, discussing what exactly had happened inside.

Just then Chen Feiyang came out, his face full of fervent joy.

He took a few steps, then suddenly turned around and bowed twice towards the private room: ”Thank Xiaobu Young Master for giving me this opportunity!”

Everyone was shocked!

What?

Chen Feiyang bowed to Lu Xiaobu?

What is happening to this world?

Meanwhile, inside the private room.

”Is he out of his mind?” Lu Xiaobu turned to look at Liang Lan: ”If he wants to bow, why didn’t he do it inside the room?”

”Uh... this...”

Liang Lan was at a loss for words.

Her inner world was collapsing.

Young Master Bu, if a big shot bowed to someone, surely they wouldn’t think about whether his brain is glitched like you are?!
