Prodigal System in the Flourishing City

Chapter 36: Chapter 36: I Should Cooperate with Your Performance [Please Save, Please Recommend]

”Enough!” Zhang Wenliang leaped up from the ground, his eyes red with anger as he glared at Liang Lan: ”Liang Lan! Do you really have no regard for past affection? So venomous? You really want to push me to the brink of death?”

”Past affection? Your Zhang Family schemed against my family, deliberately showing kindness to my parents, then holding that kindness over our heads to make threats. You really think I don’t know?”

Liang Lan sneered: ”Of course, I won’t deny that your family did show kindness to mine, which I repaid when I saved your bar. I believe I’ve told you that before.”

”You!” Zhang Wenliang was momentarily at a loss for words.

While he wasn’t aware of the specifics, that definitely sounded like something his dad would do.

”Oh? There’s this drama too?” Lu Xiaobu nodded: ”Then let’s go all out! Help Sister Lan vent her anger!”

”Thank you, Young Master Xie Xiaobu.” Liang Lan expressed her gratitude: ”I estimate that in another minute, the police will take notice of this matter!”

Now Zhang Wenliang’s face was ashen, his body shaking—half with anger, half with fright—if the police took notice and pulled up at the entrance, then there would be no need for explanations, their bar could just wait to die!

He opened his mouth, trying to beg for mercy, but there was no use talking to Liang Lan, leaving only Lu Xiaobu!

But...

Could he even dare to speak to Lu Xiaobu?

And at that moment...

”You wretch! Damn it, you’re the real disgrace to the family!”

A roar filled with indescribable anger emanated from the auto show center.

Everyone looked back to see a stout middle-aged man who had leapt up high right at the entrance and delivered a flying kick!

”Thud!”

A heavy foot landed ruthlessly on Zhang Wenliang!

Zhang Wenliang was sent flying by the blow!

That power, that aura...

Lu Xiaobu shuddered violently: ”Holy smokes! Who is this guy? He seems to hate Zhang Wenliang more than I do. Could it be a vendetta about a patricide?”

”Umm... that’s probably not the case, because this is none other than Zhang Wenliang’s father—Zhang Benhu! He’s a figure who won’t bow even to the city’s top tycoons, shrewd yet elusive, playing both sides of the law!” Liang Lan explained with a wry smile.

”Damn, this is beyond the level of father hitting son!”

Lu Xiaobu’s lips twitched as he watched Zhang Benhu rushing up again and throwing punches and kicks at Zhang Wenliang, remarking in surprise: ”I’m starting to feel bad for Zhang Wenliang.”

”Indeed, Zhang Benhu’s violent parenting methods are infamous.” Liang Lan shrugged. ”I’ve witnessed it more than once.”

”Jeez... poor thing!” Lu Xiaobu shook his head.

It seemed as if Lu Xiaobu’s words were overheard, the beating intensified, and Zhang Wenliang’s screams echoed continuously through the auto show center, frightening everyone.

”That’s too harsh! Isn’t it!”

”Even Lu Xiaobu, the enemy, wouldn’t be this cruel.”

”Seeing this, I feel like Zhang Wenliang has got what he deserved and can be forgiven, right?”

”I agree...”

Hearing these whispers, Zhang Benhu roared louder, hitting even harder: ”I’ll beat you to death, you little bastard!”

”Ah! Dad, I’m wrong, I’m wrong! Help, save me!” Zhang Wenliang’s wails grew even more desperate.

”Young Master, this guy is putting on a fake fight.” And Zhang Meng bent down, whispering quietly: ”Apart from the first kick which was genuine, and even then it was aimed at meatier parts to avoid real harm, all the subsequent attacks are all bark and no bite, all for show.”

”Oh?” Hearing this, the corners of Lu Xiaobu’s mouth curled up with a sly grin.

”It looks like Zhang Benhu wants to win the Young Master’s sympathy. Even if the Young Master doesn’t sympathize, with everyone watching, it wouldn’t look good for the Young Master to go overboard!”

Liang Lan also caught on—right, even with violent parenting, you wouldn’t beat someone to death like this!

Feigned attack, a classic tactic often used by that old fox, Zhang Benhu!

”He’s taking advantage of my honest nature,” Lu Xiaobu said with a chuckle: ”Too bad for him, if it weren’t for you guys here, his plan might have actually succeeded.”

Zhang Meng and Liang Lan both silently laughed—thinking of bullying the Young Master? As if they were just-for-shows?

”Come on, I’ll teach you a song, let’s sing it together.” Lu Xiaobu’s eyes gleamed with mischief.

”What song?” Liang Lan asked, puzzled.

”Follow my lead. ’The one who should play along in your show just turns a blind eye...’” Lu Xiaobu began to sing softly.

”Heehee...” Hearing these lyrics, Wu Qianmin and Liang Lan couldn’t help but laugh maliciously—how fitting!

Because of just one line of lyrics, several people quickly learned it.

”Ahem!” Lu Xiaobu coughed and stood up, leading the group over.

”Don’t try to stop me, Xiaobu, he dares to insult you, I will beat him to death today!” Zhang Benhu roared, continuing his performance.

”Ah! I was wrong! Xiaobu, I was wrong, I was wrong!” Zhang Wenliang even put more effort into it!

Listening to Zhang Wenliang’s words, the others all showed sympathetic expressions.

”Poor kid.”

”The previously arrogant Zhang Wenliang has actually become like this, Lu Xiaobu, this prodigal son is too terrifying.”

”However, Young Master Bu probably won’t pursue it any further; he can’t bear it!”

”...”

”I was wrong, I was wrong, Young Master Lu, I apologize! I’m a scumbag!” Zhang Wenliang shouted even louder, his voice becoming hoarse.

That kick from his father just now made him understand!

Yes, he was the real prodigal son!

What’s personal humiliation?

As long as the Zhang Family is still standing, he is still Young Master Zhang, no one dares to gossip!

”1, 2, 3, go!” Lu Xiaobu took the lead.

”The one who should be cooperating with your acting, ignores you completely...”

The four people’s laughter-filled singing immediately spread out.

”A duet.” Lu Xiaobu said happily.

”The one who should be cooperating with your acting, ignores you completely...”

”(Pause) The one who should be cooperating with your acting, ignores you completely...”

Lu Xiaobu: ”A trio.”

”The one who should be cooperating with your acting, ignores you completely...”

”(Pause) The one who should be cooperating with your acting, ignores you completely...”

”(Pause) (Pause) The one who should be cooperating with your acting, ignores you completely...”

Zhang Benhu’s face turned green, and Zhang Wenliang’s face turned even greener!

What the hell is this?

If you have seen it, just see it, but don’t turn it into a song.

Lu Xiaobu: ”Ladies and gentlemen in the audience, let’s all do it together!”

”No! Stop, don’t sing anymore!” Zhang Benhu hurriedly intercepted.

If Lu Xiaobu continued singing this plan to win sympathy, it would probably backfire completely!

But Lu Xiaobu ignored him: ”Ladies and gentlemen in the audience, let’s all do it together!”

”The one who should be cooperating with your acting, ignores you completely...”

Suddenly, a wave of mocking and chuckling singing erupted from the crowd.

They finally understood, it turns out that the father and son of the Zhang Family were both putting on an act!

”Xiaobu... by seniority, you should also call me uncle...” Zhang Benhu said in a low voice with a green face.

”Huh? Continue, let’s get hyped!” Lu Xiaobu tugged at the corners of his mouth—still trying to take advantage of him at this point?

Zhang Benhu’s face became even uglier, damn, who said this prodigal son is stupid? He can’t be coaxed or coerced at all!

”Xiaobu... Young! Master!” Zhang Benhu spoke through gritted teeth.

”What? I didn’t hear you.” Lu Xiaobu shrugged.

”I said, Xia! Bu! Young! Master! My Zhang Family gives in! Please be generous!” Zhang Benhu yelled loudly, his voice echoing throughout the entire auto show center!

Everyone was shocked—Lu Xiaobu, this prodigal son, actually forced Zhang Benhu to apologize in public without caring about face?

This was something that even the wealthiest man in the city had not been able to do back in the day!
